Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 574: Chapter 617: Mysterious Items

Ye Anxin nodded in agreement, saying, ”Butler, Uncle is right. These items have unclear origins, and we don’t know the intentions of the person sending them. We shouldn’t keep them at home! Let’s throw them away! In the future, if you encounter such strangers, don’t open the door. Just let them take their things back!”

”Yes, I’ll take care of it right away!” The butler nodded, picked up the big box of toys, and instructed the other servants to throw them out!

From the moment he saw the toys, Mu Beiting had always worn a gloomy expression. Even when the butler instructed the servants to dispose of the toys, there was no relief in his expression!

Seeing this, Ye Anxin sat down beside him, wrapped her arm around his, and softly said, ”Uncle, let’s go to the room and change clothes! Xiao Bai is almost done with school too!”

”Alright!” Mu Beiting nodded gently, holding Ye Anxin’s hand, carefully supporting her as they went upstairs to the master bedroom.

After returning to the room, the two washed their faces and changed into comfortable home clothes.

When they came out of the room, Xiao Bai had just finished class and emerged from the study! Upon seeing Ye Anxin, Xiao Bai’s eyes lit up, and he hurried over, grabbing Ye Anxin’s hand excitedly, ”Mom, you’re back? I thought you wouldn’t be able to have dinner with me at home tonight!”

Ye Anxin gently patted Xiao Bai’s little head, softly saying, ”How could I not come back! Didn’t I ask the butler to tell you? I’ll definitely be home for dinner tonight! I keep my promises!”

”Okay!” Xiao Bai nodded with a smile, looking at Mu Beiting beside Ye Anxin, he curiously asked, ”Dad, you got off work early today! It feels like it’s been a long time since I’ve seen you at this time!”

”Silly child!” Ye Anxin shook her head helplessly, holding Xiao Bai’s hand, and went downstairs with him.

Ye Anxin and Mu Beiting played with Xiao Bai in the garden for a while, then it was time for dinner. After dinner, as usual, they went for a walk to digest, then went back to the room for a bath and sleep.

The evening passed peacefully like this!

Mu Beiting returned to his usual self, as if Mo Xuehong had never appeared!

However, since that day, at exactly three o’clock every afternoon, someone would deliver a large box of toys!

The butler followed Mu Beiting and Ye Anxin’s instructions, directly refusing to open the door! The person delivering the gifts would just leave them at the door and leave alone.

The butler would then dispatch someone to throw away the gifts placed by the door.

Day after day, this went on for two weeks straight!

Initially, the butler would report it to Mu Beiting and Ye Anxin! Later, the butler didn’t bother to mention it anymore, simply ignoring the matter.

Seeing that the person delivering the gifts was so patient, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but become a bit curious, finding a time to ask while Mu Beiting was preparing to sleep after a bath, ”Uncle, who do you think has such patience, knowing that their gifts are being thrown away, yet still sends them every day?”

Mu Beiting’s eyes darkened, and without expression, he uttered three words, ”I don’t know!”

Ye Anxin said, ”Uncle, should we look into it?”

”There’s no need!” Still very bland, three words, showing no emotional fluctuation.

Ye Anxin hesitated for a moment but couldn’t help saying her guess, ”Uncle, do you think it might be that woman named Mo Xuehong?”

Upon hearing those three words, Mu Beiting didn’t act as strangely as the first time. It was as if he didn’t know Mo Xuehong at all; he rubbed Ye Anxin’s forehead with a usual expression and said, ”Stop your wild speculations! Just remember, no one gives things to others without a reason!”

Ye Anxin stuck out her tongue playfully, saying, ”I guess Mo Xuehong wants to curry favor with Uncle! She knows Uncle cares most about Xiao Bai, so she tries to win Xiao Bai over first, then gradually earn Uncle’s affection step by step!”

Mu Beiting gently tapped Ye Anxin’s forehead, displeased, saying, ”I care most about you!”

Hearing Mu Beiting’s words, Ye Anxin was both happy and conflicted, ”You like me the most, but what about Xiao Bai?”

Mu Beiting spoke with confidence, ”He’s second!”

Ye Anxin pouted, ”If Xiao Bai heard you say this, he’d definitely be sad!”

”Once he gets married, he’ll say the same thing! The only companion I have until old age is my wife!” Saying this, he couldn’t help planting a kiss on Ye Anxin’s forehead.

Ye Anxin touched the spot Mu Beiting had kissed, and the little conflict in her heart suddenly disappeared!

Uncle was right; once Xiao Bai gets married, as his mom, she wouldn’t be the most important either! So, Uncle caring most about her was entirely reasonable!

”Alright, stop overthinking! Sleep now! The person delivering gifts to Xiao Bai every day won’t be doing it for free! When the time is right, they’ll naturally show up! So, thinking about it now is redundant!” Saying this, he bent over, gently lifting Ye Anxin onto the bed, lying down beside her, and holding her in the most comfortable position.

Lying in Mu Beiting’s arms, Ye Anxin blinked.

Uncle was right; that person who sends gifts every day must be about to reveal themselves! Otherwise, their gifts would have been given in vain during this time!

Since they send things, they definitely have a purpose. It can’t be for no reason that they treat Xiao Bai so well!

Sure enough, another two weeks passed!

The gift-giver persevered, sending gifts for a full month!

Even Xiao Bai had heard of such a person! However, Xiao Bai, like Mu Beiting, ignored items of unknown origin, not even looking at them, let alone accepting them!

Ye Anxin’s belly had grown bigger too!

This day happened to be a weekend, and Ye Anxin, Mu Beiting, and Xiao Bai agreed as a family to shop for clothes for the baby in her belly!

After having breakfast at home, the three set out!

All along the way, Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai, like two guards, flanked Ye Anxin on both sides, fearing she might be jostled by the crowd.

Mu Beiting directly led Ye Anxin into a luxury baby product store!

Since marrying Mu Beiting, Ye Anxin had long forgotten how to write the word ”economize,” buying whatever she fancied!

Clothes, towels, baby bathtubs, talcum powder, bottles, formula! All baby items were carefully inspected, and once confirmed safe for the baby, Ye Anxin bought them without hesitation.

The three shopped all morning, and since they hadn’t finished buying, they found a restaurant to eat!

After ordering, but before the food arrived, Xiao Bai touched his belly and said, ”Mom, I’m going to the bathroom!”

”I’ll go with you!” Saying this, Ye Anxin stood up to go with him.

”No need! I can go by myself! I’m not a child anymore!” With that, he jumped off the stool and ran towards the bathroom!
