Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 559: Chapter 602: Not Close to Mom

Upon hearing his words, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but burst into laughter, ”Uncle, do you not like me being good to you?”

Mu Beiting replied displeased, ”I like it! However, I hate it when you’re good to me with an ulterior motive!”

”Ulterior motive...?!” Ye Anxin frowned, carefully thinking about her behavior earlier.

Upon reflection, she remembered that when Mu Beiting came out of the bathroom earlier, she had purposely dried his hair affectionately to get his help!

Could it be that this unintentional act had made him uncomfortable? Did it upset him?

Did he feel that the kindness she showed him, if driven by a motive, lost its original charm?

Ye Anxin gently bumped her forehead against Mu Beiting’s and said helplessly, ”Oh my, Uncle, you’re so petty! As long as I’m good to you, that’s all that should matter, why care about this?”

Mu Beiting puffed out his cheeks and insisted, ”It’s not the same! I like it when you’re genuinely nice to me! That makes me happy!”

Amused by his childish demeanor, Ye Anxin gently pinched his upturned nose and coaxed, ”Alright, alright! I was wrong! I shouldn’t have been nice to you just to get your help! Uncle, forgive me, will you?”

After Ye Anxin’s coaxing, Mu Beiting’s mood changed swiftly, as if the weather had turned, and he said, ”Alright! But don’t let it happen again!”

Ye Anxin deliberately sighed and said helplessly, ”Honestly, I can’t do much with you!”

”What’s mine is yours, and what’s yours is mine. I don’t want you to beg me! We’re a couple, it’s only natural for me to help you! So in the future, if there’s anything, don’t beg, just speak up! Otherwise, it will make me uncomfortable!” he said, taking Ye Anxin’s hand and placing it on his chest.

Feeling Mu Beiting’s steady heartbeat, Ye Anxin teased, ”Wow...! The sun must have risen from the west today! Uncle is telling me he’s uncomfortable! Didn’t you used to just sulk and make me guess why? Have you now realized and sympathized with my struggles?”

”...!” Faced with Ye Anxin’s teasing, Mu Beiting’s face flushed slightly, unable to utter a word.

”I just love this adorable side of you, Uncle!” she said, as she hooked an arm around Mu Beiting’s neck, pulling him down, and her red lips touched his thin lips.

At the moment their lips met, Ye Anxin’s hand on Mu Beiting’s chest felt his heartbeat quicken, his breathing becoming more erratic and heavy.

Ye Anxin smiled mischievously, wrapping her legs around Mu Beiting’s waist to reciprocate!

”Mmm...!” Ye Anxin’s boldness made Mu Beiting grunt, and his large hands tugged away the towel wrapped around Ye Anxin......

.........

The next day, Ye Anxin got up early. When she woke up, Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai had just returned from a jog outside!

Ye Anxin organized the items in her backpack as she walked towards Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai, ”Uncle, I’m worried about my mom. These next few days are crucial, and I want to be with her, so I won’t be joining you for breakfast in the morning! If I can make it back by evening, I’ll join you for dinner, but if not, you should eat with Xiao Bai! Remember, don’t skip meals just because I’m not home, I’ll be checking!”

Upon hearing her words, Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai both frowned, noticeably showing their displeasure.

Mu Beiting remained silent, but Xiao Bai protested directly, ”Mom, you haven’t spent time with Daddy and me for several days now!”

Ye Anxin patted Xiao Bai’s head apologetically, ”Oh dear! I’m sorry, it’s a special situation this time. She’s your grandmother, my one and only mom, I can’t ignore her! If I’m correct, my dad will likely come looking for my mom over the next few days. Now is a crucial moment, and I must stay by my mom’s side, otherwise, I won’t be at ease!”

Mu Beiting furrowed his brows and said with displeasure, ”I’ve already sent people over! Don’t you trust my capabilities?”

Realizing that Mu Beiting had misunderstood, Ye Anxin quickly explained, ”Uncle, that’s not what I mean! You know how much my mom means to me, and I can’t afford to be careless at such a critical time! The people you sent can stop my dad from showing up, but they can’t stop him from calling her! If my mom gets soft-hearted, all my previous efforts will be for nothing! So... Uncle, I know you understand me, right?”

Mu Beiting pressed his lips together, his expression still unhappy!

Xiao Bai sulked and said, ”Then does that mean Daddy and I aren’t that important to you, Mom?”

Ye Anxin didn’t explain further, instead, she shifted topics and suddenly asked, ”Xiao Bai, what would you do if something happened to Mom one day?”

Xiao Bai quickly answered in a panic, ”I wouldn’t let anything happen to Mom!”

Ye Anxin smiled and said, ”See? You won’t let anything happen to your mom. Similarly, your grandmother is my mom, and I can’t let anything happen to her either! Don’t worry, it’s just for these couple of days that I can’t be with you! Once your grandmother’s issues are resolved, Mom will be able to spend every day with you!”

”...!” Xiao Bai tilted his head, seemingly not fully grasping Ye Anxin’s words, pondering seriously.

At this moment, Mu Beiting, who had been silent, spoke up, ”Go ahead! I’ll have the driver take you!”

”Uncle...!” Surprised by Mu Beiting’s sudden change, Ye Anxin looked at him blankly.

Mu Beiting said expressionlessly, ”Just like Xiao Bai can’t be without his mom, you can’t either!”

”Uncle, I knew you’d understand me! Don’t worry, once my mom’s matters are settled, I’ll be sure to stay home and spend time with you!” With that, she quickly kissed Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai on their faces before heading out with her backpack.

Watching Ye Anxin’s silhouette disappear through the door, Mu Beiting said calmly, ”Come on! Go shower and then have breakfast!” With that, he strode towards the staircase.

Xiao Bai rushed over, sulkily asking, ”Dad, why does Mom see Grandma as important when I consider her my only family?”

Mu Beiting didn’t look back. As he continued climbing the stairs, he asked expressionlessly, ”You say that your mom is your only family, what about me?”

Xiao Bai replied sincerely, ”Daddy and Mommy are both my only family!”

Mu Beiting said plainly, ”Since you see Mom as your closest person, why can’t she see her mom as her closest person? If, in the future, you get married and have kids, and your kids don’t let you be close to your mom, what would you feel?”

Xiao Bai pursed his lips and replied without hesitation, ”I’d definitely be very upset!”
