Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 579: Chapter 622: Let Her In!

Ye Anxin’s heart suddenly tightened, her breath caught as she held the staircase handrail and stepped down the last few steps, slowly walking to Mu Beiting’s side.

Ye Anxin couldn’t deliberately lighten her footsteps, so in this quiet night, they were particularly audible!

Hearing someone approaching, Mu Beiting looked up. Seeing it was Ye Anxin, he quickly stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray and waved away the smoke surrounding him!

Ye Anxin’s throat choked slightly, and she asked uncomfortably, ”Uncle, did you smoke?”

Mu Beiting didn’t answer her but instead grabbed her wrist and let her sit beside him. From not speaking for a long time, his voice was somewhat hoarse as he gently asked, ”Why are you still awake so late?”

Ye Anxin retorted, ”Aren’t you also still awake, Uncle?”

Mu Beiting paused, his eyes flickering, ”I...! I can’t sleep and didn’t want to disturb you, so I just sat here alone for a bit!”

After spending so much time with him, Ye Anxin knew that was just something he said to reassure her!

Ye Anxin didn’t expose him, and changed the subject, suddenly asking, ”Did Mo Xuehong leave?”

As soon as she spoke, Ye Anxin very clearly felt the hand grasping her wrist pause slightly, then quickly return to normal, ”I don’t know!”

Ye Anxin sighed and said helplessly, ”Uncle, it’s autumn now, and if she’s outside alone, she might catch a cold! How about I go open the door for her and let her in? Or, I can bring her a blanket! So she won’t get sick!”

Although she really hated Mo Xuehong before, hated how heartlessly she hurt Uncle!

But upon further reflection, she figured it out!

Since Uncle still cares for his mother, rather than hating her, she might as well try to accept her, slowly change her, and let her gradually realize how good Uncle is, thereby genuinely being good to Uncle!

This way, wouldn’t everyone be happy, and it could also make up for the motherly love Uncle lacked as a child!

Uncle wouldn’t be stuck in this contradictory state!

Faced with Ye Anxin’s suggestion, Mu Beiting kept an unchanged expression and said, ”No need!”

”Uncle, is she... really your biological mother?” Ye Anxin hesitated for a moment but still felt the need to speak plainly!

Ever since Mo Xuehong appeared, they both intentionally avoided this issue! She had never exposed this in front of Mu Beiting!

She knew that Uncle had an evasive attitude towards this mother!

Instead of letting Uncle continue deceiving himself, it might be better to lay everything out! Maybe it could help Uncle overcome his childhood shadows earlier!

”...!” As soon as she asked, Ye Anxin could clearly feel Mu Beiting’s tall figure tremble and couldn’t recover for a long time!

”Uncle, if she really is your mother, let her in! After all, she carried you for ten months! Even though she wasn’t there beside you for the past twenty-five years, now that she’s back, maybe she’s genuinely remorseful and wants to make up for the loss over these years!” As she said these words, Ye Anxin almost bit her tongue!

Even though these were words she didn’t really mean, she had to say them for Uncle!

After listening to the conversation between Mo Xuehong and Mr. Mu at the tea house, if she still naïvely believed she returned just to make up for the past twenty-five years to Uncle, then she’d be a fool!

But regardless of her reasons for coming back, they could only face it, not blindly avoid it! Continuing to avoid it would not benefit Uncle in any way!

No matter what they face, they should think of ways to solve it! If Mo Xuehong truly has ulterior motives, Uncle could genuinely give up on her! If she intends to make up, she might make up for the motherly love Uncle lacks!

”Make up? Ha...!” Mu Beiting sneered, his eyes gradually darkening.

”Uncle, I’ll go and check. If she’s still outside, I’ll bring her in!” Saying that, she stood up and was just about to head outside, but was pulled back by Mu Beiting, ”No need!”

Ye Anxin smiled slightly at him, gently pried open his hand gripping her wrist, and slowly walked to the door, turning on the hall and outside lights.

Leaving the villa, as she passed through the garden, Ye Anxin didn’t hear Mo Xuehong’s cursing anymore, and it was finally quiet outside!

Ye Anxin slightly frowned, thinking Mo Xuehong already left!

But as she reached the gate, she could clearly see a figure leaning against the iron gate, curling her body, arms crossed, eyes seemingly closed as if asleep! However, possibly due to the cold, her body was trembling continuously.

Ye Anxin sighed helplessly and slowly opened the door!

As the iron gate opened, Mo Xuehong, who was drowsily sleeping against the gate, stumbled and fell onto Ye Anxin’s feet.

”Oh, my... what’s going on, was there an earthquake... an earthquake...!” Completely unaware of the situation, Mo Xuehong jumped up from the ground in shock, looking around in panic as if searching for an escape route! Seeing Ye Anxin, she suddenly woke up, looking at her warily, her tone unfriendly as she asked, ”Why are you here?”

”You know me?” Ye Anxin raised an eyebrow, coldly smiling at Mo Xuehong.

If she remembered correctly, they hadn’t met before! That time at the tea house, she kept her head down, she only saw her shoes, she could only have seen her head!

This was her first time seeing her, yet she recognized her!

Looks like, she had made ample preparations before coming to find Uncle!

”Hmph!” Mo Xuehong snorted coldly, not even glancing at Ye Anxin, craned her neck to look past Ye Anxin behind her, frowned in displeasure, ”Why are you the only one here? Where is Mu Beiting? As a son, with his biological mother visiting, is this how he greets her?”

Seeing Mo Xuehong’s arrogant and dismissive attitude, Ye Anxin felt both amused and annoyed at once!

If it wasn’t for Uncle, she would definitely just slam the door and tell her to get lost!

Recalling the scene of Uncle standing in the garden at night, Ye Anxin had to close her eyes, take a deep breath, suppress her anger, and barely muster a smile, ”Uncle is inside, why don’t you come in with me!”

Mo Xuehong gave Ye Anxin a look of disdain, pouted her lips, ”Doesn’t even know how to say ’please,’ how rude! I don’t know what Mu Beiting saw in a country bumpkin like you!” Saying this, she paid Ye Anxin no more attention, shoving her aside and strutted into the villa in her high heels.

While walking, she didn’t forget to examine the surrounding environment under the street lamp!
