Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 560: Chapter 603: Understanding

”Isn’t that it then!” Mu Beiting raised his eyebrows, speaking without regard for Xiao Bai’s response or thoughts, and headed into his room alone.

Xiao Bai stood outside the master bedroom door, not following inside, and tilted his head in serious contemplation for a while!

Although he is five now and more mature and sensible than many kids of his age, his concept of familial affection is exactly the same as Mu Beiting’s was back then! Apart from his parents, he hardly cares about anyone else and doesn’t understand why he should.

However, after Ye Anxin and Mu Beiting’s analysis just now, even though Xiao Bai still doesn’t want his mother to be close to anyone other than him and his parents, he understands one thing: if he were not close to his mother, he would be very sad!

Grandma is his mother’s mother; he can’t be so selfish as to not let his mom be close to her own mom.

So, although he still felt uncomfortable and a bit sour, he no longer dwelled on the matter! He returned to his room, took a shower, changed into clean clothes, and then went downstairs with Mu Beiting for breakfast.

......

In these few days, Ye Anxin stayed by her mother’s side every moment! She was afraid that the resolve her mother had finally built would crumble due to her father’s sweet words.

However, to Ye Anxin’s surprise, these days Nan Mingchuan did not come looking for her mother. Not only did he not call her, but even the people guarding below to protect her mother had not seen any sign of Nan Mingchuan.

Ye Anxin thought this was another trick of her father’s, yet she persisted in staying by her mother’s side for a month.

And in this month, everything was calm, like the previous events were just a dream.

In this month, with Ye Anxin’s guidance, her mother’s mood improved considerably, a big change from the initial frowning and depression.

Given this situation, Ye Anxin didn’t dare to leave her mother immediately, so she first asked Mu Beiting to send someone to find out. After confirming that Nan Mingchuan had stayed in Du City without doing anything unusual, she finally felt relieved.

Sitting on the sofa in the two-bedroom apartment, Ye Anxin held her mother’s hand and gently said, ”Mom, starting tomorrow, I won’t come over anymore! Dad hasn’t come to see you for over a month; he must have given up by now! So, I don’t need to stay by your side anymore!”

Upon hearing this, there was a flicker of sadness in her mother’s eyes, and she lowered her head in silence.

Seeing her mother’s expression, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but ask, ”Mom, are you disappointed that Dad didn’t come to see you?”

Her mother was slightly startled, hesitated for a while, and finally nodded, ”I know this thought is inappropriate! On one hand, I hope he doesn’t come looking for me and want to cut all ties with him! But, on the other hand, seeing him truly give up, truly not come for me, I feel very sad and disappointed!”

Ye Anxin sighed, helplessly saying, ”Sigh... Mom, I understand how you feel, you’re not used to it yet. It will get better with time! It’s really difficult to forget someone! But, I believe there is no one in this world that one absolutely can’t live without! Besides, you have already gotten through twenty-six years, and there will surely be no problems in the future! If Dad really cared about you and liked you, he wouldn’t wrong you; he would naturally resolve everything to come find you! Conversely, if he comes to bother you without giving you a proper status, then it only shows how selfish he is; he doesn’t genuinely love you! Because if a man truly loves a woman, he can’t bear to see her suffer any grievances or hurt!”

How could Ye Anxin not understand her mother’s complex feelings at the moment!

Women are like that, contradictions! They see things clearly and know everything, yet they refuse to accept reality! Sometimes, they seemingly accept reality on the surface, but still hold on to a small hope in their hearts!

Her mother is the perfect example! Knowing that there is no possibility between them, even if Nan Mingchuan comes to find her, they can’t be together! But, even knowing it’s impossible, she still hopes that her beloved man would show some regard! Even if he doesn’t respond, she hopes to see his feelings through his actions! Ultimately, it’s a woman’s vanity at play, hoping the man she loves can love her as passionately too.

”I understand, I know all the reasoning! It’s just... it’s just... my heart can’t get over this hurdle!” she said, fearing Ye Anxin would scold her, hurriedly lifting her head, and holding Ye Anxin’s hand back, anxiously stated, ”But don’t worry, I can hold on, I believe time can dilute everything! I made it through twenty-six years, I don’t mind going through another twenty-six years! Don’t worry about me, go home and take care of your pregnancy! This period, you’ve been running back and forth for me, you’ve lost a lot of weight, seeing it makes me feel sad!”

Indeed, watching her daughter run back and forth every day, losing weight because of her, really made her feel heartache! She once told her to take care of herself and not to keep running around, but she wouldn’t listen, accompanying her for more than a month!

Seeing her belly getting bigger day by day, she felt truly heartache!

Whether for her daughter or for herself, she would control herself from now on, stopping herself from being swayed by Nan Mingchuan.

Ye Anxin nodded, smiling as she said, ”Okay! Remember to turn off your phone when you sleep at night, and call me immediately if anything happens. Even though I’m pregnant, I have Uncle, he’ll definitely help us with anything!”

”I know, alright, it’s getting dark, although I really want to keep you here for dinner, I know you haven’t had a meal with Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai for a long time, and they must miss you! Go back and accompany them! Mom has Aunt Qing here with her!” Saying this, she deliberately pushed Ye Anxin towards the door.

”Alright, I know! I’ll head back then!” Having said that, she found her backpack and slung it over her shoulder, not forgetting to remind Aunt Qing before leaving, ”Aunt Qing, please take care of my mom! If anything happens, please call me, I’ll come over immediately!”

”It’s no trouble at all! Madam, rest assured, I’ll take good care of the Madame!” Aunt Qing saw Ye Anxin to the door, and Ye Anxin waved a smiling goodbye to her mother before finally turning to leave.

After leaving her mother’s house, Ye Anxin took the business car back home!

Fortunately, she made it home just in time for dinner.

Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai had just come downstairs and were about to head to the dining room for dinner! When they saw Ye Anxin walk in, Xiao Bai puffed out his cheeks, turning his head to the side to ignore her.

Contrary to Xiao Bai’s puffed-up demeanor, Mu Beiting appeared much calmer!

He slowly approached Ye Anxin, gently caressing her slender face, and softly said, ”Go wash your hands, it’s time to eat!”
