Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 566: Chapter 609: A Misunderstanding

After listening to Old Master Mu’s lengthy speech, Ye Anxin stared in disbelief, wide-eyed.

She never expected that Old Master Mu had initially wanted Uncle to take over Mu Group to use him as a scapegoat! She always believed that Old Master Mu was just forced to hand over Mu Group to Uncle because he couldn’t find a suitable heir!

To think... there was such a sinister plot behind it all! Uncle turned out to be Mu Rufeng’s scapegoat!

Uncle’s so pitiful, never receiving his biological mother’s love since childhood! Rarely being taken home by his biological father, only to be treated as a pawn! If not for Mu Rufeng’s incompetence and Uncle’s capability, Uncle might have already been discarded.

Mu Huajian let out a bitter smile, self-mockingly, ”I know, after hearing what I said, you’ll definitely think I’m extreme, that you’ll feel injustice for Beiting, that you’ll hate me! But that’s the reality! Initially, I had no feelings for him at all; I thought taking him from his mother and providing him with a worry-free life was the greatest gift I could give him, and he should be grateful, sacrifice for me unconditionally!”

”Old Master, you went too far! What did Uncle do wrong to deserve such treatment from you? He’s also a human being! A person who needs warmth, needs love! Why can you love everyone around you but stingily refuse to give him just a little bit of love? Even if it’s just one percent or a thousandth, it’s something! I don’t understand; since you all once despised Uncle, why did you give birth to him and make him suffer? Seeing your own child like this, you’re not guilty, not remorseful?” As Ye Anxin spoke, her eyes unknowingly reddened.

Thinking about how, before the age of ten, Mu Beiting watched his mother with different men, and after ten, he was raised like a pawn! Such a life is darker than darkness! She really didn’t know how Uncle managed to endure it all these years!

If it were her, she would have collapsed long ago!

This was the first time Ye Anxin spoke to Mu Huajian in such a heavy tone! Even so, Mu Huajian wasn’t angry in the least; instead, he gave a self-mocking smile, ”You should know, right, that Beiting’s mother was a dancer, commonly known as a *****!”

Ye Anxin nodded, ”I know!”

Mu Huajian sincerely said, ”This belongs to familial dirt, and I wasn’t intending to tell you, as this is Beiting’s unpleasant past! If he wants to say, I hope he can tell you himself! But... now it seems, this is a scar he can never touch, for how much he cares about you, he would never let you know of his unsavory past! So, I’m going to tell you myself! I hope that after understanding his past, you can be tolerant and understanding of him! Don’t leave him again! Because... he’s really fragile, fragile to the point he can’t bear to lose you anymore!”

Ye Anxin vowed, ”Actually, even if you didn’t tell me, I would never leave Uncle in this life! When Uncle lives, I live; when Uncle dies, I die! If one day Uncle doesn’t want me, I would rather die than leave him!”

Upon hearing Ye Anxin’s words, Mu Huajian genuinely smiled and sighed, ”Anxin, for Beiting to meet you in this life is truly a blessing from the heavens! I really can’t imagine what it would be like if he hadn’t met you!”

Ye Anxin sweetly smiled, happy, ”I should say, meeting Uncle is my blessing! Uncle gave me all the happiness other men couldn’t give me!”

Mu Huajian stared at the bright, warm smile on Ye Anxin’s face, as if suddenly understanding something, thoughtfully said, ”At first, I didn’t understand why Beiting would like you! Speaking of looks, there’s nothing particularly special; any random girl on the street is prettier! But after spending some time together, I finally understood! You can give Beiting the warmth that no other woman can! His heart has always been cold, without warmth! And you... you’re like sunshine that can shine into his icy heart, giving him warmth he’s never felt before! Maybe... when Beiting first met you, you already caught his eye! Otherwise, as I know him, he wouldn’t marry a woman he had no affection for!”

Hearing this, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but touch her own face.

Mu Huajian said helplessly, ”Before, I always thought Beiting loved Ruan Zhitong to a point where he couldn’t extricate himself! So after Beiting took over Mu Group and expanded it, I changed my view of him and wanted to mend our relationship, and regretted separating them for a while! I tried several times to find Beiting to explain, hoping he could forgive Ruan Zhitong and reconcile with her. I hoped Ruan Zhitong could bridge the bad relationship between us! But... Beiting refused to see me, didn’t answer calls, and even when he occasionally came back to the manor to eat, he banned any discussion about Ruan Zhitong! So... in the end, this matter just went unresolved!”

Ye Anxin widened her eyes, asking in confusion, ”You separated them? Why?”

”Because I was dominant and controlling before, I liked controlling everything! Since Beiting was with Ruan Zhitong, he gradually slipped from my control, deviating from my plans, so I used forced tactics to make Ruan Zhitong leave Beiting! Ruan Zhitong had no choice but to plot to make Beiting hate her, to leave her! At that time, I always thought Beiting was immersed in his love for Ruan Zhitong, could even lose himself for it! Until five years ago when I saw you...!”

”Plot?” Ye Anxin tilted her head, thinking deeply, suddenly seeming to understand something!

She remembered Su Yuexin saying five years ago that the reason Uncle couldn’t be with Ruan Zhitong was because Ruan Zhitong wasn’t pure! And Uncle had a cleanliness obsession, couldn’t tolerate his woman not being a virgin.

And eleven years ago, the reason Uncle broke up with Ruan Zhitong was because he caught her in bed with another man!

Now with Old Master’s words, she had to suspect, perhaps it was just a misunderstanding back then, and Ruan Zhitong didn’t really have relations with another man, it was just an act, a plot to make Uncle leave her!

If her guess is true, then Ruan Zhitong was too pitiful, forced to leave the man she loved dearly, having to do cruel things to make him hate her!

Ye Anxin couldn’t help but ask, confused, ”How did you force her to leave Uncle back then?”

Because she could never understand, since they were deeply in love, why couldn’t they overcome difficulties! What was the reason that forced a woman to make such a heartbreaking move?
