Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 590: Chapter 633: Danger Ahead

Mu Beiting stood up and walked to the bedside, sitting down and holding Ye Anxin’s hand, he comforted her, ”Don’t worry, wait for Pete’s results! Don’t panic!”

”Tell me, what on earth happened, why did my dad ask for help and say he’d be dead if it was too late? Was he kidnapped?” Ye Anxin anxiously looked at Mu Beiting!

To say she wasn’t worried or anxious would be a lie!

Although she didn’t have a relationship with Nan Mingchuan, after all, he was her biological father!

When your biological father is in trouble, how can you not be worried!

Mu Beiting hugged Ye Anxin in his arms, vowing with confidence, ”Rest assured, I’ve got this! I won’t let anything happen to him!”

”Wasn’t everything fine more than a month ago? How did this happen?” In the past month, her father hadn’t come to see her mother, letting her mother’s life return to peace!

She thought she would never have any intersection with this father again, but she never expected to receive a call for help from him now!

”Pete is efficient; there’ll be results soon! Be careful of the baby in your belly!” he said, placing his broad hand on Ye Anxin’s protruding belly!

”Hmm!” Although she was still worried inside, Ye Anxin could only nod obediently!

She didn’t know what’s been going on lately! One thing after another without a day of peace! What’s really going on with them? Do they really need to find some time to burn incense and pray to get rid of the bad luck?

”Good girl...!” Mu Beiting sat next to Ye Anxin, waiting for Pete’s investigation results!

An hour later, Mu Beiting’s phone rang right on time!

Mu Beiting answered the call, and Pete’s familiar voice came through, ”The people in Du City just reported that Xue Rong has been in charge of Nanshang Group recently, and Nan Mingchuan hasn’t appeared for a long time! It’s said that Nan Mingchuan has been claiming illness and recuperating at home! Because the time was too short, we could only find out so little information for now!”

Mu Beiting asked, ”Nan Mingchuan wasn’t kidnapped?”

Pete firmly replied, ”No! If Nan Mingchuan had been kidnapped, it would have been a big deal, and easy to find out! But the results from the people in Du City are that Nan Mingchuan is at the Nan Family Villa recovering and hasn’t left the house for more than half a month! The Nan Family’s servants can also confirm this!”

Mu Beiting nodded, ”Got it! Investigate thoroughly, I want the most complete and detailed information!”

Pete said, ”Alright! It might take some time, after all, we’re not in Jin City!”

”Hmm!” Mu Beiting nodded and then hung up the phone.

From the moment Mu Beiting started the call, Ye Anxin had been nervously watching him. As soon as he hung up, she immediately and impatiently asked, ”How was it? Was he kidnapped?”

Mu Beiting rubbed her head and said gently, ”No! Nan Mingchuan is at home recuperating, and hasn’t left in over half a month!”

Ye Anxin furrowed her brow and asked in confusion, ”Recuperating at home, then why did he call me asking for help? When I call, his phone is off?”

Mu Beiting comforted, ”Don’t worry, I’ve already asked Pete to investigate! If he wasn’t kidnapped, then it should be fine! Don’t overthink!”

”I’ll make another call to check!” saying this, she took out her phone, found the number she called earlier, and called again, only to get a message that the phone is off.

Ye Anxin refused to give up and dialed another phone number!

This number was the one Nan Mingchuan had once told her, Nan Mingchuan’s cell number!

She had always kept it in mind, yet had never actually called him! She never thought she would call him today!

The phone didn’t connect, still indicating it was off!

Ye Anxin looked at Mu Beiting worriedly, ”They’re all off!”

Mu Beiting furrowed his brow slightly, took the phone from Ye Anxin’s hand, dialed a number, and handed it back to her, ”This is the Nan Family’s landline number!”

Upon hearing that, Ye Anxin hurriedly put the phone to her ear!

The phone rang a few times before it was answered, and a woman’s voice came through, ”Hello, Du City Nan Family, may I ask who you’re looking for?”

Ye Anxin politely said, ”Hello, I’m looking for your master, Nan Mingchuan!”

Upon hearing Ye Anxin’s words, the voice on the other end was obviously a bit flustered, stammering, ”Ma...Master...! The master is unwell and has already fallen asleep!”

Ye Anxin patiently said, ”Can you wake him up? Tell him it’s urgent and I’m looking for him!”

The maid refused, ”I’m sorry, the master instructed before sleeping that no matter what, no matter who, no one should disturb him! Who are you? Why are you looking for the master? The madam is home; it’s the same to talk to the madam! How about I pass the phone to the madam?”

”No need! Thank you!” she said, and without waiting for a response from the other end, she hung up the phone.

Mu Beiting rubbed Ye Anxin’s head and comforted, ”Don’t overthink it! Although we didn’t reach Nan Mingchuan, at least it proves he’s at home!”

Ye Anxin looked at Mu Beiting and said uneasily, ”Why do I always feel something’s off? This feeling is strange! Really!”

Mu Beiting bluntly voiced Ye Anxin’s speculation, ”Are you afraid Nan Mingchuan is under house arrest?”

Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin blankly shook her head, her eyes unfocused, and said uncertainly, ”I don’t know, but a woman’s sixth sense tells me something has happened! My dad is in trouble!”

Mu Beiting calmly analyzed, ”At most, he’s under house arrest! As long as he’s not in mortal danger, then there’s nothing to worry about! I won’t let anything happen to him!”

Ye Anxin looked blankly at Mu Beiting, ”House arrest? Who would put him under house arrest? Xue Rong? Why would she house arrest my dad?”

Mu Beiting patiently said, ”The world is unpredictable! All of this is just speculation! We’ll wait for Pete’s results!”

”Hmm! That’s all we can do now! As long as my dad isn’t in mortal danger, I’m not afraid!” Ye Anxin nodded, constantly comforting herself silently!

If it was indeed just Xue Rong putting him under house arrest, then things would be much easier! Given Xue Rong’s feelings towards Dad, she shouldn’t have the heart to do anything to him!

Mu Beiting sat beside Ye Anxin, seeing her nervous and uneasy expression, his thin lips pressed tight, saying nothing, just quietly sitting by her side!

Waiting is hard!

Because Nan Mingchuan was in Du City, it was much more troublesome for Pete to investigate!

It wasn’t until the following afternoon that Pete personally delivered the investigation results to the villa!

Mu Beiting sat on the sofa in the room, looking down at the information Pete handed over, and the more he read, the darker his expression became!

Mu Beiting’s expression made Ye Anxin even more uneasy. She hurried to sit beside him and asked nervously, ”Uncle, what is it? Did something happen? Let me see!”

Mu Beiting said nothing, silently handing the information to Ye Anxin!

Ye Anxin quickly opened the document, and upon seeing its content, her face instantly turned pale!
