Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 436: Chapter 437: Warmth

This was the first time in a long while that Ye Anxin saw Xiao Bai smile.

The moment Xiao Bai smiled, she was completely captivated!

It turned out that her son, who usually looked like a little old man, could smile, and he looked so beautiful when he did. In that moment of his smile, all the lines of his face softened, making him look less mature and more childishly innocent.

Ye Anxin’s heart melted into a puddle at Xiao Bai’s smile.

At this moment, she couldn’t care less about her own image and jumped right off the bed, rushing to Xiao Bai, trembling as she held his hand, excitedly saying, ”Xiao Bai, you smiled at me! You’re smiling at me, aren’t you!”

Being called out like that, Xiao Bai’s small face reddened slightly, and he awkwardly hid his smile, reverting to his usual serious and distant demeanor as Mu Shaobai.

Seeing him return to his old self, Ye Anxin couldn’t hide her disappointment, and her face slowly fell.

”Xiao Bai, are you feeling okay? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?” Ye Anxin asked while checking on Xiao Bai.

Even though after yesterday’s events, she suspected the butler might have deliberately deceived her about Xiao Bai being sick!

But when she saw Xiao Bai, she still had to check him thoroughly, so she could be at ease.

Xiao Bai did not answer but frowned and unhappily asked, ”Why are you in my room?”

Ye Anxin glanced back at the place where she had spent the night and inadvertently, memories of what Mu Beiting did to her last night flooded her mind, her face blushing.

Seeing her expression, Xiao Bai frowned even more deeply, ”Why are you blushing?”

Ye Anxin touched her hot face, shook her head with a smile, ”It’s nothing! Xiao Bai, where did you go last night? Why didn’t I see you?”

Xiao Bai raised his chin arrogantly, ”Why should I tell you? What right do you have to ask where I went? You’re no one to me!”

”Uh...!” His words caught Ye Anxin off guard, her words stuck in her throat.

Yeah! What right did she have to ask where he went?

To him, she was just a stranger he had met twice, wasn’t she?

Ye Anxin withdrew her hand from Xiao Bai’s face, her eyes filled with disappointment and self-blame.

Seeing Ye Anxin like this, a trace of guilt flashed in Xiao Bai’s eyes.

Xiao Bai opened his handsome thin lips, preparing to say something, but before he could speak, the butler’s voice suddenly sounded behind him, ”Young master, it’s time for breakfast!”

As soon as the butler finished speaking, he was already standing at the door.

Ye Anxin looked up, somewhat reproachfully, at the butler.

The butler smiled awkwardly and said apologetically, ”Madam, I’m sorry, I was following the master’s orders. The master commanded it, and I had to comply! As servants, we don’t have the right to oppose the master’s will!”

Ye Anxin sighed helplessly, ”I understand! I’m not angry that you tricked me into coming, but that you lied about Xiao Bai being sick! Sometimes these things shouldn’t be spoken, for fear they might come true one day!”

The butler lowered his head, full of remorse, ”I understand, I’m sorry, I will never joke about the young master’s health again!”

Ye Anxin nodded, stood up, ran a hand through her hair, looked reluctantly at Xiao Bai, and said, ”It’s getting late. I should head back! I left in a hurry yesterday and didn’t inform the school!”

Hearing that Ye Anxin was leaving, Xiao Bai’s face immediately fell.

The butler quickly blocked the door with his hand, nervously saying, ”Madam, I’m sorry, the master has instructed that without his orders, you cannot leave!”

Hearing that Ye Anxin couldn’t leave, Xiao Bai’s face instantly brightened again.

”What?” Ye Anxin exclaimed in disbelief, ”What does Mu Beiting mean by this? Does he want to confine me again?”

”Madam, I’m sorry, matters concerning the master are not for us servants to question!” The butler lowered his head, not daring to meet Ye Anxin’s sharp gaze.

Ye Anxin was so angry that her face turned red, gritting her teeth, ”Mu Beiting is being too excessive! He doesn’t have the right to do this!”

”I’m sorry, madam!” Apart from apologizing, the butler didn’t know what else to say!

After all, confining someone was indeed wrong! But in these five years, he had seen the young master’s loneliness and longing for maternal love!

He truly hoped the madam could stay and reunite with the young master as a family.

Xiao Bai couldn’t hide his upturned lips, and to avoid Ye Anxin noticing, he turned and walked toward the stairs, saying, ”Butler, let’s go have breakfast!”

The butler glanced at Xiao Bai’s departing figure, turned to Ye Anxin, and said warmly, ”Madam, you should go have breakfast too! The master specifically instructed the kitchen to make your favorite sticky rice porridge!”

Ye Anxin was about to refuse, but then she remembered the child in her belly and couldn’t help but close her eyes, taking a deep breath, suppressing her anger, and forced a smile, ”You go ahead, I’ll freshen up and be right down!”

”Alright!” Seeing that Ye Anxin wasn’t angry and even smiled, the butler immediately breathed a sigh of relief and left happily.

Watching the butler leave, Ye Anxin gritted her teeth, took several deep breaths, walked out of Xiao Bai’s room, and returned to the master bedroom!

She knew that since Mu Beiting had tricked her into coming back and confined her here, he must have made all the preparations for her staying! Therefore, all the things she might need were surely prepared for her!

Sure enough, when Ye Anxin returned to the master bedroom’s bathroom, the toothbrush, towel, and cup were all brand new and neatly placed there!

Although she felt deceived, for the sake of the child in her belly, she had to suppress her anger, brush her teeth, wash her face, and tie her hair into a ponytail before going downstairs for breakfast.

Always sitting by the dining table, Xiao Bai did not start breakfast until he saw Ye Anxin coming down the stairs, then he quickly and guiltily picked up his utensils to eat.

When Ye Anxin reached the dining table, she saw Xiao Bai obediently eating breakfast, and her heart warmed. She walked over, lovingly touched his head, and said with a smile, ”Xiao Bai is so good, eating breakfast all by himself!”

Xiao Bai pouted disdainfully, ”Obviously!”

The smile on Ye Anxin’s lips froze, and she forced a smile, then sat down next to Xiao Bai.

The butler quickly instructed the servants to bring out Ye Anxin’s breakfast.

Ye Anxin thanked them, took her breakfast, and seeing Xiao Bai looking at her, she smiled sweetly at him. Xiao Bai’s face immediately turned red, and he lowered his head to eat breakfast.

Seeing Xiao Bai’s blushing face, Ye Anxin felt warmth spreading in her heart, her mood improved a lot, and she lowered her head to start eating breakfast.

While eating, Ye Anxin secretly watched Xiao Bai!

In five years, this was her first time having breakfast with her son! This feeling was wonderful and cozy!
