Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 413: Chapter 414: Mother and Son Reunited?

”This... this...!” The housekeeper hesitantly looked at Ye Anxin! He wanted to tell her that when the young master fainted, he had already called the master!

If nothing unexpected happened, the master should be on his way back!

If she stays here, she’s bound to meet the master! What should be done then?

However, when he saw the young master unconscious in bed, all the words stuck in his throat, he couldn’t say them!

The young master is truly pitiful. Since childhood, his mother hasn’t been by his side, and his father, busy with work, can’t always be with him!

In these five years, he’s grown up mostly with the servants! The young master spent far more time with him than with the master!

Just like this illness, there seemed to have been early signs, but the young master held on, not wanting them to worry! Until just now, he couldn’t hold on any longer, fainting under the scorching sun!

If the young master had his mother by his side since childhood, how could he be such an understanding and quiet child!

So his childhood innocence wasn’t even there!

He sincerely loves the young master and hopes the young master can be happy!

So, after thinking it over, the housekeeper didn’t say anything.

Perhaps, letting the lady meet the master is a good thing! Let them say things clearly face-to-face!

He truly hoped the master and lady could reconcile and make amends for the young master’s loss over these five years!

At this moment, all of Ye Anxin’s thoughts were on the sick Xiao Bai, and she didn’t notice the housekeeper’s unusual behavior; she just thought that the housekeeper’s silence meant he agreed!

”Madam, I’m going to give the young master an injection now!” The doctor took the prepared medicine to the other side of Xiao Bai, hung the bottle, and skillfully set up the IV for Xiao Bai!

Even when the IV was set up, through a series of movements, Xiao Bai didn’t stir at all.

Seeing Xiao Bai like this, Ye Anxin felt even more heartbroken! Tears unknowingly flowed, dripping down her cheeks onto Xiao Bai’s hand.

The housekeeper approached the doctor, politely saying, ”Doctor, please stay here a little longer, wait until the young master wakes up, and the IV finishes before you leave! We’ll be uneasy if you go!”

The doctor nodded and smiled, saying, ”Don’t worry, I’ll wait until the young master wakes up before I leave!”

”Then please come down with me to have a good rest! I will call you anytime something happens!” With that said, the housekeeper gestured for the doctor to follow.

”Okay!” The doctor nodded and left the room with the housekeeper!

The housekeeper stood at the doorway, and as he closed the door, he couldn’t help glancing inside, sighing internally, before finally closing the door gently.

They should let the mother and son have a good time alone!

In five years, the young master had never spent time this close to his mother!

Since the madam is here, they had better leave consciously.

All of Ye Anxin’s thoughts were on Xiao Bai; she didn’t even know when the housekeeper left! Her attention was fixed solely on Xiao Bai, just hoping he would wake up soon!

Thus, Ye Anxin sat on the floor by the bed, tightly holding Xiao Bai’s hand, staring intently at his pale face. After a bottle of medicine was finished, she immediately replaced it with another bottle, then resumed her previous position.

After two bottles of medicine were finished, as Ye Anxin had just changed the third bottle, Xiao Bai, lying on the bed, murmured faintly.

Although the voice was soft, Ye Anxin truly heard it.

Hearing this sound, Ye Anxin rushed to squat by Xiao Bai’s bed, holding his hand in one hand and touching his pale little face with the other, softly saying, ”Xiao Bai, are you awake?”

As if hearing her voice, Xiao Bai’s thick eyelashes moved slightly in a coma.

Seeing his minute expression changes, Ye Anxin’s face lit up with joy, and she hurriedly said, ”Xiao Bai, I’m mom, wake up quickly? How do you feel? Is there anywhere uncomfortable?”

”Hmm...!” Xiao Bai unknowingly furrowed his brows, his head unsettlingly moved twice.

”Xiao Bai, Xiao Bai...!” Seeing his reactions grow more pronounced, Ye Anxin’s heart tightened!

As long as Xiao Bai can wake up, everything will be fine!

In Ye Anxin’s voice full of concern, Xiao Bai moved his eyeballs and slowly opened his eyes.

In that instant when he opened his eyes, a face both familiar and strange appeared before him!

Xiao Bai seemed disbelieving of what he saw, withdrew his hand from Ye Anxin’s hold, and rubbed his eyes.

When he opened his eyes again, Ye Anxin was still squatting by the bed.

Seeing his adorable actions, Ye Anxin smiled gently, stood up, sat at the edge of the bed, and softly stroked his smooth forehead, saying with heartache, ”Xiao Bai, how do you feel now? Is there anywhere uncomfortable? Do you want some water?”

Xiao Bai pursed his lips in silence, just quietly staring at Ye Anxin as if looking at a total stranger.

”Xiao Bai, what’s wrong? Why aren’t you speaking? Is there anywhere else uncomfortable? The family doctor is just downstairs, I’ll call him up right away to have a look at you!” With that, Ye Anxin stood up, ready to call the doctor.

But then, Xiao Bai, who hadn’t spoken all this while, finally spoke, ”Who are you?”

Hearing Xiao Bai’s emotionless voice, Ye Anxin felt her heart plunge to the bottom.

Yes! For five years, she had never stayed with her son for a single day, though she would often secretly watch him from a corner, he had never seen her!

To him, she was utterly a stranger; how could he recognize her?

Seeing Ye Anxin not speaking while facing away from him, Xiaobai’s voice grew colder, ”Who are you really? Why did the housekeeper let you in? Doesn’t he know that not just any ’stranger’ should be allowed into this house?”

”Xiao Bai, actually, I’m not a stranger; I am...!” Ye Anxin turned around and, in a moment of impulse, almost couldn’t hold back from revealing her identity!

But the words stuck in her throat, she swallowed them back! After not seeing each other for five years, telling him she was his mother now, he probably wouldn’t accept her either!

”Who are you?” Xiao Bai’s clear eyes looked coldly at Ye Anxin, with a faint hint of expectation flickering in the depth of his gaze.

”I... I... I am...!” Ye Anxin wanted to speak truthfully, but never found the courage to say her real identity!

She feared her son would blame her, reject her! By then, she truly wouldn’t know what to do!

But if she didn’t say it, with mother and son so close yet so far, she couldn’t bear her son treating her like a stranger!

What to do? What to do? What should she do? Should she reveal her identity?

Just as Ye Anxin was stuttering and hesitating, Xiao Bai’s impatient voice sounded again, ”Who are you really? If you won’t say, then leave!”
