Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 408: Chapter 409: The Cunning Yan Qinghan

Yan Qinghan continued, ”Little sister-in-law, you haven’t had dinner yet, have you? Let’s go out and have dinner together! There’s a Southeast Asian Restaurant next to Jiangcheng Hotel! The food there is good, really tasty, and it’s on me!”

Ye Anxin refused flatly without even thinking, ”No!”

Understanding what Ye Anxin was thinking, Yan Qinghan smiled and said, ”Don’t worry, it’s just the two of us, Mu Beiting won’t be there!”

”No!” Ye Anxin still refused flatly without thinking!

Right now, she just wanted to say goodbye to the past completely! She didn’t want to have any more connections with people or things from the past! Of course, Xiao Bai was an exception!

”Little sister-in-law, you know me. I am the kind of person who never gives up until I achieve my goal! I’ll be waiting for you at the window seat, table nine, in the Southeast Asian Restaurant! If you don’t come, I’ll go up to the hotel room to find you!” After saying this, he hung up without giving Ye Anxin a chance to refuse.

Listening to the busy tone on the phone, Ye Anxin bit her teeth in anger.

The annoying Yan Qinghan, always so annoying!

Should she go or not?

What if he actually came up if she didn’t go?

Ye Anxin sat on the couch in the living room, biting her lower lip in anxious contemplation!

After some thought, she decided to go and make things clear with Yan Qinghan, so she stood up, went back to her room, freshened up, changed into clean clothes, and headed out.

Following Yan Qinghan’s instructions, Ye Anxin went straight to table nine by the window at the Southeast Asian Restaurant next to Jiangcheng Hotel! As she approached, she immediately caught sight of Yan Qinghan sitting there, waving at her with a smile.

Looking at the smug smile on Yan Qinghan’s lips, Ye Anxin wished she could tear it right off his face.

Yan Qinghan stood up and, while opening a leather chair for her, said, ”Little sister-in-law, I knew you’d come! I’ve already ordered a few signature dishes for us, they’ll be up soon! Let’s eat while we talk!”

Ye Anxin plopped down, placed her bag on her lap, and said expressionlessly, ”What did you call me here for? If you have something to say, hurry up, I have things to do and won’t be eating; I’ll leave right after you say it!”

Yan Qinghan sat down opposite Ye Anxin, putting on a face of mock hurt, and said, ”Oh, little sister-in-law, don’t be so sharp! I still prefer the old you, gentle and soft-spoken! When did you ever talk to me like this! If you keep it up, I’ll be sad!”

Seeing Yan Qinghan’s pitiful appearance, Ye Anxin’s brows twitched, and she opened her mouth to say something, but in the end, she just sighed and said nothing.

”Little sister-in-law, I just wanted to have a meal to catch up, no other agenda! You don’t need to be so tense! We haven’t seen each other for five years, don’t you miss me?” Yan Qinghan said while pouring tea for Ye Anxin with gentlemanly grace.

Ye Anxin bit her lip and remained silent.

Seeing Ye Anxin unmoved, Yan Qinghan continued, ”Little sister-in-law, if you don’t miss me, don’t you at least miss Xiao Bai or Yueyue?”

Upon hearing the names Xiao Bai and Yueyue, Ye Anxin’s body visibly jerked. After a while, she opened her lips and, with a hoarse voice, asked, ”How have they been?”

Over the past five years, she had occasionally gone back to check on Xiao Bai!

But regarding Yueyue, in those five years, she hadn’t even seen her once, not even called!

What burdens her heart the most is Yueyue!

However, she didn’t want Yueyue to worry about her and certainly didn’t want to trouble Huo Junmo because of her!

Knowing Yueyue, she would definitely stand up for her, which would inevitably involve Huo Junmo!

Huo Junmo was innocent and didn’t need to be dragged into the matters between her and Mu Beiting!

Hence, over the last five years, she cut off contact with Yueyue, hoping to reconnect only after everything had settled down!

Yan Qinghan sighed, pretending to be helpless and said, ”How could a child without a mother be okay! In the five years of your disappearance, Yueyue cried so much she nearly went blind! She always cursed you for being heartless and said she wanted to cut ties with you!”

Hearing this, Ye Anxin’s heart almost leaped to her throat.

Just as she was about to inquire further, the waiter brought the dishes!

Yan Qinghan picked up the chopsticks and placed some food in Ye Anxin’s bowl, smiling as he said, ”Eat, eat, let’s eat first, and talk later!”

Half-mindedly, Ye Anxin took a bite and said sadly, ”I know, these five years, I owe Xiao Bai a lot! I’m not fit to be a mother, I haven’t fulfilled any responsibilities of being a mom! If there’s a chance, I hope to make it up to him properly! As for Yueyue, please tell her I’m sorry! I had no choice but to leave suddenly five years ago, and when things calm down, I’ll get in touch with her!”

Seeing Ye Anxin’s sad expression, a sly gleam flashed in Yan Qinghan’s eyes. Seizing the opportunity, he pushed the water he had poured earlier in front of Ye Anxin, ”Don’t be sad, have some tea first!”

Ye Anxin, suspecting nothing, picked up the cup and took a large gulp of tea.

Seeing Ye Anxin swallow the tea, Yan Qinghan’s smile deepened, though he said, ”Sigh! I don’t even know what to say! Just a short time away, and you all cause such troubles! You know Ling Yueyue’s personality, I dare not provoke her! If you want to apologize, you should do it yourself, I won’t be the one!”

Ye Anxin glanced at him, lowered her head, bit her lip, and remained silent.

”Let’s eat first! Or else you won’t have any energy later!” With that, Yan Qinghan kept piling food into Ye Anxin’s bowl!

”Not like we are doing anything, what do I need energy for!” Ye Anxin remained unaware of the implications in Yan Qinghan’s words, unsuspectingly picking up her chopsticks and silently shoveling food into her mouth.

Yan Qinghan didn’t pick up his chopsticks, just folded his hands on the table, watching Ye Anxin eat, ”Little sister-in-law, it’s been five years, when do you plan to forgive Mu Beiting! Believe me, he loves you!”

Ye Anxin gave a self-deprecating smile and said nothing, continuing to eat.

Seeing Ye Anxin seemingly unwilling to discuss this further, Yan Qinghan didn’t push it and kept giving her more food, ”Eat, eat, have more! The dishes here are quite famous and delicious! Once you leave Jiangcheng, it’ll be hard to have them again!”

Ye Anxin just gave him a faint look and continued eating silently.

However, halfway through the meal, she suddenly felt something was wrong.

For some reason, she suddenly felt dizzy, her body grew warm and soft, and big beads of sweat started rolling down her forehead.

Ye Anxin wiped the sweat off her forehead with her arm, instinctively looked up at the central air conditioning above, touched her feverish face, and said weakly, ”So hot, don’t you feel hot? Is the air conditioner broken?”
