Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 426: Chapter 427: Frankness and Sincerity

Ye Anxin shook her head and said nonchalantly, ”I don’t know! Just looking at the pictures makes me want to eat them! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!”

Su Yichen gave her a suspicious look, feeling puzzled but didn’t think too much about it!

After choosing her dishes, Ye Anxin handed the menu to Su Yichen, ”I’ve ordered already, what would you like to eat?”

Su Yichen chose two dishes and then returned the menu to the waiter!

Ye Anxin watched Su Yichen, but didn’t say anything first!

She knew that if she spoke now, neither of them would have an appetite for the meal later!

Rather than starting an argument, it was better to eat first and talk after!

Fortunately, even though it’s peak time, the small restaurant’s kitchen was quite efficient, and soon the dishes were served one after another!

Looking at the sweet and sour shredded pork being served, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but swallow, thinking nothing else, and started eating voraciously!

Seeing Ye Anxin wolfing down her food, Su Yichen felt even more puzzled!

How could it be that after just one night, her taste has completely changed?

In the past, she wouldn’t even touch dishes with added sugar, yet today she was eating them enthusiastically as if they were delicacies!

Women’s taste changes way too quickly, right?

Throughout the meal, Ye Anxin didn’t say a word, just focused on eating.

Before long, she finished all three dishes!

As Su Yichen ate, he watched her shocking appetite in amazement, until she was done, drank some water, and wiped the oil off her lips before asking, ”Didn’t you eat lunch? Or were you starving all day?”

Ye Anxin rubbed her stomach contentedly, ”No, I just thought the food was delicious, so I couldn’t help but eat it all! To be fair, I never realized it was this tasty before!”

Su Yichen, while pulling food into his mouth, felt even more astonished.

Seeing him constantly look at her perplexedly, Ye Anxin urged, ”Hurry up and eat! I’m full!”

”Hmm!” Su Yichen responded softly, continuing to eat leisurely!

After finishing the meal and feeling full, Ye Anxin proactively said, ”I’m full, let’s go for a walk!”

”Sure!” Su Yichen never refused Ye Anxin’s requests, especially those that meant spending time alone with her!

After paying the bill, Su Yichen stood up! Ye Anxin followed suit, but as soon as she steadied her feet, the dizziness hit again! She felt her vision blur and her small body swayed slightly!

Noticing her abnormality, Su Yichen quickly held her arm, asking concernedly, ”Anxin, what’s wrong? Are you okay?”

Ye Anxin tapped her temple with her hand, trying to clear her head, and gently shook her head, forcing a smile, ”I’m fine, just stood up too quickly and lost balance momentarily! I’m fine now, let’s go!”

Su Yichen looked at her seriously, unsure, ”Are you really fine?”

”Yes, really fine! Aren’t I standing well now!” To prevent Su Yichen from worrying, Ye Anxin deliberately freed herself from his support and took a couple of steps forward!

Seeing she seemed really okay, Su Yichen finally relaxed, and the two left the restaurant together.

After leaving the small restaurant, Su Yichen and Ye Anxin unknowingly walked towards the school playground!

The two strolled leisurely around the track!

Ye Anxin looked up at the night sky and broke the silence first, ”Professor Su, we’ve known each other for nearly eight years, right?”

Su Yichen sighed deeply, thoughtfully saying, ”Yes! From the first meeting to now, it’s indeed been over seven years! But, we’ve only been friends for five!”

Ye Anxin continued, ”Without you, I couldn’t have escaped from Mu Beiting’s clutch successfully back then! Therefore, I’ve always been very grateful to you! I don’t know how to repay your kindness to me!”

Su Yichen stopped walking, looked seriously at Ye Anxin, and said earnestly, ”Everything I’ve done for you was willingly, it’s what I should do! I’ve never asked you to repay me! If you really do, then it’s too formal between us!”

Ye Anxin gazed into Su Yichen’s eyes with equal seriousness, ”In this world, no one’s kindness is obligatory or taken for granted! That includes you! Your kindness to me is a favor! This favor, I remember in my heart, I won’t forget in this lifetime! Likewise, if one day, you need me, I will surely, without hesitation, even if I have to use my life to repay, I wouldn’t have any regrets!”

Su Yichen was no fool; naturally, he could hear that Ye Anxin’s words were not simple.

Gradually, a sense of unease welled up inside, ”Are you saying so much today because you want to tell me something?”

Seeing Su Yichen ask, Ye Anxin didn’t beat around the bush, straightforwardly saying, ”Professor Su, I know this is cruel to you, but I don’t want to hold you back! From the start, I’ve always seen you as my best friend, someone I could confide in! Other than that, I don’t have any romantic feelings for you! I’m very grateful for your kindness to me, but I can’t be with you just because of gratitude! It wouldn’t be fair to you! You’re a good man and deserve a better woman to love you! Even if I stayed with you out of gratitude, you’d regret it one day!”

Su Yichen smiled bitterly, ”I know we can’t be together, I’ve never hoped for that! I just want to quietly stay by your side!”

Ye Anxin said with guilt, ”If it means holding you back because of me, I’d feel even more guilty! Professor Su, promise me, forget me, and find a woman who deserves your love!”

After hearing Ye Anxin’s words, Su Yichen frowned and asked, ”Did Qingyang say something to you?”

Ye Anxin nodded and directly said, ”Today at noon, I had lunch with Qingyang, she told me everything! Don’t blame her; she did it for your good! Actually, she could’ve just followed your agreement, but instead, she told me everything! I could see she has feelings for you! You and she are a natural match! Qingyang is a good woman, a woman worthy of your love!”

”I won’t blame her!” After speaking, Su Yichen paused before continuing, ”I understand your thoughts! Rest assured, I won’t use responsibility to forcefully bind you to me! I won’t let you feel guilty or self-reproach either! I will find my own happiness!”
