Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 431: Chapter 432: The Best Man for Her

So, after buying groceries and coming back, Su Yichen directly put on an apron and got busy in the kitchen.

After coming back from the hospital, Ye Anxin was settled in the bed to rest by Su Yichen! However, after two hours of sleep, she found herself unable to fall asleep again, so she got up to move around a little!

As a result, just after opening the door of her room, she was hit by the rich aroma of chicken soup!

Ye Anxin frowned curiously and walked out of the room. Just as she reached the living room, she saw Su Yichen through the open kitchen door, wearing an apron and standing in the kitchen washing vegetables!

Ye Anxin walked to the kitchen door, leaning against it, incredulously asking, ”Professor Su, you... you’re cooking?”

Upon hearing her voice, Su Yichen stopped what he was doing, turned around, and smiled when he saw Ye Anxin, ”Yes! I’m cooking for you. The doctor said you lack nutrition and need to supplement it, so I made chicken soup for you!”

Ye Anxin glanced around the kitchen and realized that it wasn’t as messy as she had believed! On the contrary, it was very clean and orderly!

Prepared vegetables were placed in plastic strainers, each set over a plate to prevent water from dripping below!

Everywhere else was cleaned spotless, not a trace of water to be seen! Even the floor was spotless!

Ye Anxin stared blankly at him, surprisingly asking, ”You actually can cook?”

Su Yichen turned around, continuing to wash vegetables as he spoke, ”Yes! I grew up in an orphanage, so I’ve learned to be self-reliant! I may not be able to make gourmet meals, but simple home-cooked dishes are no problem! You should go to the living room and rest for a bit. Once I’m done, you can come and taste my cooking!”

Ye Anxin said, embarrassed, ”This is my house, how could I let you cook here, I should be the one cooking!”

Su Yichen deftly scooped the vegetables out of the washing basin, smiling as he said, ”You’ve agreed to marry me, so it’s all the same, my house or your house! Besides, it’s only right for a husband to care for his wife! You go rest quickly, once I finish washing these vegetables, I can start cooking! Just be patient a little longer, and you can eat soon!”

”Alright! Then I’ll eagerly await to see what kind of gourmet meal our Chef Su can make!” Ye Anxin smiled slightly and stopped bothering him, turning to sit on the living room sofa, turning on the TV. Even as she watched television, she occasionally glanced towards the kitchen!

Soon enough, in less than half an hour, Su Yichen called out, ”It’s ready! All the dishes are on the table, hurry up and come eat!”

Hearing his voice, Ye Anxin stood up, smiling as she walked to the dining table by the kitchen entrance. As soon as she saw the table full of aromatic, delicious dishes, her previously not hungry stomach immediately began grumbling.

”Sit down and eat!” Su Yichen placed a bowl of rice, served from the kitchen, in Ye Anxin’s hands and had her sit beside the dining table.

”Then I won’t be polite!” Ye Anxin laughed with her chopsticks, without a hint of hesitation, she began devouring her food vigorously.

Watching her eat so without any ladylike manner, Su Yichen couldn’t help but chuckle, ”Eat slowly, no one’s going to take it from you! After finishing the rice, have a bowl of soup! I specially made this chicken soup for you, it’s free-range chicken, great for your health!”

”Okay!” Ye Anxin, with her mouth full of rice, remarked indistinctly as she couldn’t stop herself from giving a thumbs up, ”Professor Su, I didn’t realize your cooking skills were so good, and the food is so delicious! Honestly, it’s not at all inferior to those five-star chefs!”

Hearing Ye Anxin’s praise, Su Yichen felt delighted, openly admitting, ”I’ve never felt such a sense of accomplishment in my life before! Earning the praise of the woman I love is the happiest thing!”

Ye Anxin shoveled another mouthful of rice into her mouth, mumbling, ”I’m telling the truth, has no one ever complimented you before?”

Su Yichen smiled bitterly, slightly saddened, ”From childhood till now, besides Cheng Le, I haven’t had any friends, so I’ve always cooked just for myself! When the two of us happened to meet occasionally, we’d always eat out! It feels rather odd for two grown men to cook at home, doesn’t it?”

Ye Anxin’s eyes curved into crescents, smiling she said, ”That’s true! Don’t worry, from now on, you won’t need to worry about your cooking talents going to waste, I don’t mind being a taste tester daily!”

Su Yichen looked at Ye Anxin, seriously saying, ”If you’re willing, I’d be happy to cook for you for the rest of my life!”

Listening to his sincere words, Ye Anxin’s heart softened slightly, she didn’t answer, lowered her head shyly, and kept eating quietly!

After Ye Anxin finished eating, Su Yichen took her bowl and served her a bowl of chicken soup.

After drinking the chicken soup, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but praise again.

Indeed, Professor Su’s cooking skills were truly good, quite comparable to hers!

It’s just that sometimes, when she was home alone, she was too lazy to cook and just made do with eating something casually!

It seems that in the future, she shouldn’t be lazy anymore, she should eat properly!

Once they finished eating, Ye Anxin rushed to wash the dishes, but Su Yichen pulled her into the living room, sitting her down on the sofa, while he returned to the dining table and quickly cleaned up the aftermath.

Sitting on the living room sofa, watching Su Yichen’s busy figure, Ye Anxin felt a pang of emotion, full of gratitude.

In her twenty-six years, she’d never had a man treat her so well! Even Mu Beiting in the past did it with ulterior motives! Su Yichen was the only one who was purely kind to her without any ulterior motives!

Seeing him give so selflessly, if she didn’t feel anything at all, then she’d be too cold-hearted!

Perhaps, after ending the marital ties with Mu Beiting, she should try to accept him, try to love him! With him, at least he wouldn’t let her get hurt, nor would he hurt her!

Thinking of this, Ye Anxin stood up and poured a glass of water, placing it on the tea table!

Once Su Yichen finished his work and returned to the living room, she handed the tea to him.

Su Yichen didn’t find it strange, accepting the water and drinking it!

While he was drinking water, Ye Anxin took a tissue from the tea table to wipe the sweat from his forehead.

Surprised by her sudden intimate gesture, Su Yichen paused in his tea-drinking, looking at Ye Anxin in delight, seemingly unable to believe this was real.

Ye Anxin said sincerely, ”Thank you! Without you, I wouldn’t have found a new lease on life! Who knows, I might have collapsed and ended it all five years ago!”

Su Yichen, holding the teacup in one hand and gently clasping Ye Anxin’s hand with the other as she wiped his forehead, softly said, ”No need to say sorry, everything I’ve done is out of willingness!”
