Marvel: Odin Imprisoned Me with Hela

”Thor’s hammer? What have you researched?”

Orion Cross was slightly surprised. Originally, S.H.I.E.L.D. would not have had such a thought. Had Thor already returned to his position?

”It’s only a guess, based on the descriptions and photos from that side.”

”As for research... the hammer appeared at 10:38:59 last night. S.H.I.E.L.D. learned about it one minute ago.”

Nick Fury calmly narrated the situation.

In his career as an agent, the two people Nick Fury was most grateful to were Carol and Orion Cross. The two of them had made his vision no longer limited to Earth, letting him know that there were aliens and gods in this world.

”So you haven’t sent anyone over yet? You’re only relying on photos taken by random bystanders and posts on Twitter and Facebook to speculate that it’s Thor’s hammer?”

Orion Cross held the phone with a speechless expression.

”No. We just happened to have an agent vacationing there, so the intelligence is absolutely reliable...”

When Nick Fury said this, he suddenly realized that Orion Cross had dragged the topic off course and that he had almost forgotten his original purpose. He immediately changed his wording. ”I’m preparing to have Coulson take a team over. Are you interested in taking a look?”

”You already said you’re having Coulson lead the team. What does that have to do with me?”

”Don’t forget, you’re still a S.H.I.E.L.D. consultant, and you receive a consultant’s salary every month,” Nick Fury reminded him.

”Then I’ll resign and return all the salary to you?”

Orion Cross chuckled.

”...What I mean is, as a special consultant, after going there, you can move freely and act as you please. It’s basically a government-funded trip.”

Nick Fury immediately changed his phrasing without the slightest embarrassment.

Very stupid. He had originally thought Orion Cross would be very interested in Thor’s hammer from Norse mythology, but he had not expected Orion Cross’s attitude to be so calm. His mistaken assessment had made all his prepared lines seem foolish.

”Erase Skye’s files, and I’ll go take a look.”

Orion Cross glanced at Skye lying on the sofa and said this to Nick Fury.

”No problem. But she was only listed as a field agent back then. No one will pay attention to her.”

Nick Fury was slightly stunned. He had not expected Orion Cross to make such a simple request. He only vaguely remembered that he and Coulson had once persuaded a young hacker to join S.H.I.E.L.D. and work as Orion Cross’s driver. If Orion Cross had not brought it up now, he would have almost forgotten Skye’s name.

”Then erase it anyway.”

Orion Cross did not back down in the slightest. Skye was now already preparing to awaken her power. When that happened, she would definitely be able to stand on her own. If she still carried the title of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent by then, it was hard to guarantee that S.H.I.E.L.D. would not get any ideas. After all, in the original timeline, Skye became a Level Ten agent like Nick Fury and Natasha, one of the highest-level existences. Skye was not as clear-sighted as Orion Cross. She could easily be fooled into becoming someone’s tool.

”No problem.”

Nick Fury agreed directly. ”By the way, Agent Romanoff has been vacationing at your place recently, right?”

”Hm? What is it?”

Natasha, who was enjoying breakfast, noticed Orion Cross looking at her and tilted her head in confusion.

”Nick Fury says your vacation is over.”

Orion Cross handed the phone over with a helpless expression.

”What? I only just started...”

Natasha’s eyes gradually widened. She took the phone, got up, and walked outside.

Five minutes later, Natasha returned with a depressed expression and tossed the phone back to Orion Cross.

”Little ninja, looks like I won’t be able to take you shopping today. If you have any questions, ask Skye or Wanda.”

Natasha sighed, then looked at Orion Cross with resentment. ”Let’s go! We’re heading out!”

”What did he say to you?”

After getting into Natasha’s car, Orion Cross was somewhat curious about how Nick Fury had convinced her.

”He told me how unusual this incident is. Is that really the hammer of Thor from Norse mythology?”

Natasha drove while swiping across the vehicle’s virtual screen, pulling up several pictures posted by local internet users.

”You care a lot about this?”

”I just don’t want to be a frog at the bottom of a well. I want to understand more.”

Natasha looked ahead seriously, braked in front of a S.H.I.E.L.D. branch, then turned to Orion Cross and spoke.

”If it isn’t someone’s prank... then it’s real.”

After getting out of the car, the two walked toward a plane not far away. Orion Cross also answered Natasha’s question.

”I understand.”

Natasha nodded and asked no more, because they had already entered S.H.I.E.L.D.’s area. Ever since she had learned from Orion Cross that there were likely moles within S.H.I.E.L.D., she had tried her best not to discuss important matters when other agents were present.

”We meet again. Thank you for your assistance this time.”

Coulson walked over and shook Orion Cross’s hand with a smile. ”Please board the plane. I’ll be serving as overall commander for this operation. Defensive arrangements will be handled by Agent Barton and Romanoff...”

”No. Leave that to Clint. I’m going with this guy.”

Natasha interrupted Coulson and pointed at Orion Cross.

”Is he the head of your household?”

A man carrying a bow walked over from the side and joked with a smile.

”I remember last time, there seemed to be a female agent who said she was a little interested in you. Was her name Barbara or Bobbi?”

The corner of Natasha’s mouth rose as she turned around and counterattacked.

”My mistake. Don’t talk about that. You know I don’t have that intention.”

The moment Hawkeye Barton heard Natasha’s words, he could not take it and hurriedly surrendered.

Everyone thought Agent Barton was single, but in reality, he had already secretly gotten married long ago. His wife Laura had even recently become pregnant. As a Level Ten agent and his good friend, Natasha naturally knew this secret. Knowing full well that he was already married, yet still mentioning him and other female agents, was this not pure threat? His wife was pregnant, while he acted like a playboy outside? He, Clint Barton, was not Tony Stark. He was a perfect family man.

”I’ve long heard of you. Although I don’t have the authority to know your strength, I know you must be a formidable person. Otherwise, Natasha wouldn’t willingly acknowledge you as her superior.”

Barton looked at Orion Cross and spoke seriously. A Level Ten agent would rather give up arranging important defensive work during a mission and choose to follow an idle consultant instead. It looked strange, but Barton knew that was only because he did not understand the full picture.

”Enough talking. Let’s head out. Hopefully, the plane won’t crash again this time.”

Orion Cross nodded at Barton, then looked at Coulson and spoke.

”Don’t worry. There’s no Hulk in New Mexico.”

Coulson replied with a smile.
