Marvel: Odin Imprisoned Me with Hela

”Come with me next door and change into another set of clothes. What you’re wearing is too conspicuous.”

After returning to the main world, Natasha said this to Akali.

”Go ahead.”

Facing Akali’s questioning gaze, Orion Cross nodded. Her ninja outfit itself was not particularly strange. In fact, it was even more normal than Steve’s ”American ass” suit. But that was also Captain America’s ”battle suit.” Anyone who walked out dressed like that in daily life was either a cosplayer or a performance artist.

”The air in this world smells unpleasant. It’s rather like the Zaun region recorded in books.”

Akali followed behind Natasha and sniffed the air.

The two of them arrived at the temporary residence Orion Cross had rented next door. Natasha took a laptop from the sofa and placed it on the table.

”Pick for yourself. Tell me which ones you like, and I can... have Orion Cross pay for them.”

Natasha had originally been about to say she could pay for Akali. But after thinking about it, this little ninja girl was now loyal to Orion Cross. What did that have to do with her? Why should she waste her own money?

”This is a shop, right?”

Akali tried gripping the mouse and quickly became familiar with the controls, beginning to make her selections.

”This vest looks good.”

”A skirt? No. It affects movement.”

”No masks? Then I’ll buy a face mask. This one seems nice.”

”Fluorescent pink? What is that?”

Very quickly, Akali picked out several sets of clothing. At Natasha’s signal, she sent the bill to Orion Cross.

On the other side, Skye and Orion Cross were alone in the same room.

Beep, beep.

Orion Cross glanced at the bill sent to his phone and speechlessly paid it.

”My parents are actually both still alive... Then why have I never been able to find them?”

Skye sat on the edge of Orion Cross’s bed in confusion. For all these years, while learning hacking skills, she had also broken into all sorts of databases, yet she had never found any information about her parents. She had always thought her parents were no longer alive. But now, in another world, she had learned that her parents were still living?

”Actually, sometimes the truth isn’t beautiful. But I won’t stop you either. Besides, all these years have already passed, haven’t you still lived just fine?”

Orion Cross placed a hand on Skye’s shoulder and spoke in a soothing tone.

”You’re right.”

Skye lifted her head to look at Orion Cross, pursed her lips, and nodded. She really did not need to force it. What if, after investigating everything, she discovered that her parents had abandoned her? Or that her parents were imprisoned criminals? In that case, it would be better to maintain the status quo.

”Live for yourself. Do whatever you want to do.”

Orion Cross poured Skye a bowl of motivational soup.

”What I want to do... I don’t have the ability.”

Skye’s gaze gradually dimmed, and she lowered her head. She wanted to possess her own power. Even if she could not compare to Orion Cross, she at least wanted to be like Invisible Woman and Mystique, rather than being a support member hiding in a car.

”Actually... there’s a gene inside your body similar to Raven’s. It’s just that if it isn’t unlocked, it will never manifest.”

After hesitating slightly, Orion Cross decided to tell her about her situation.

”I’m a mutant too? Are you joking?”

Skye froze when she heard Orion Cross’s words.

”No. This world doesn’t have mutants. I’m only saying your situation is similar.”

Orion Cross shook his head. Mutants and Inhumans were remarkably similar in both origin and racial abilities.

Skye lowered her head in a daze, looked over her entire body, then raised her head to look at Orion Cross. ”So, how do I activate it?”

”Your race itself has a method. Mist produced by a kind of mineral called Terrigen Crystal can activate your ability,” Orion Cross said.

”There’s another way?”

Hearing Orion Cross’s tone, Skye asked in confusion.

”Yes. I can help you perform an Ascension Ritual.”

Orion Cross stared into Skye’s eyes and spoke.

”Ascension Ritual? The name sounds like some strange kind of...”

Before Skye could finish speaking, golden light flashed over Orion Cross’s body. A gilded robe appeared on him, and the dust particles in the air revolved around him, as though he had turned into a star.

”This is Ascended Mode. In the world we just visited, it was the power displayed by mortals who rivaled gods in ancient times.”

Orion Cross released Ascended Mode. The robe and pressure on his body dispersed along with a faint breeze.

”Are there any requirements?”

For some reason, Skye was more willing to believe in Orion Cross’s power and methods than in the inherited method of the race he mentioned.

”If you mean the Ascension Ritual of that world, then it requires building an enormous Sun Disc as the terminal for energy transfer. The person participating in the Ascension Ritual must be strong enough, have firm enough willpower, and possess the necessary qualifications.”

Orion Cross listed them one by one.

”...What about yours?” Skye asked.

”As long as I want to,” Orion Cross replied.

”Hm?”

Skye blinked her watery eyes, filled with confusion.

”When I’m in Ascended Mode, I can create a Sun Disc at any time.”

Orion Cross explained, ”Actually, back in the mutant world, Raven underwent the baptism of the Ascension Ritual. Otherwise, her original mutant appearance was a red-haired blue elf.”

”Then... when can I do it?”

Skye asked carefully. Just now, Orion Cross had also said it depended on whether he wanted to. What if Orion Cross only wanted her to stay in the back as a support hacker, part-time chef, and driver?

Seeing Skye’s cute, cautious probing, Orion Cross smiled and patted her shoulder. ”Although it’s true that it only needs my willingness, you’d better train your body and willpower first. That will let you start from a higher point.”

”I understand.”

Skye nodded seriously, already beginning to plan her recent training schedule in her heart.

”All right. Now that your heart problem is solved, can you go make dinner?”

Orion Cross took out his phone and gestured at the time. It was fine if he went hungry, but Wanda had been studying seriously downstairs all afternoon. He could not let her stay hungry until night.

”Mm. I already bought the ingredients for dinner this morning. They’re in the fridge. Dinner will be ready soon.”

Although Skye spoke of making dinner, her body showed no intention of moving. Instead, her face moved closer and closer to Orion Cross.

”Do you know what crime it is to harass your boss?”

Orion Cross touched the corner of his mouth and looked at Skye.

”Stop messing around. Change out of that agent bodysuit before going to the kitchen.”

Orion Cross glanced at the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent bodysuit on Skye, which outlined her perfect figure, and spoke.
