Marvel: Odin Imprisoned Me with Hela

”We’re heading out!”

Susan and Raven took the blueprints and other documents Orion Cross had given them and went out to handle work. As for Skye, she was sitting in the living room with her laptop, cramming knowledge into Wanda. Since Raven did not have time for the moment, the teaching duties could only be temporarily handed over to Skye.

”Why don’t we talk about the armor blueprint you mentioned earlier?”

Natasha’s gaze returned to Orion Cross, and she smiled.

”There’s nothing to talk about unless you join us.”

Orion Cross was not doing charity. Even if Black Widow’s compatibility with the Armed Battle Princess was one hundred percent, he would not foolishly give it away for free.

”Join... you?”

”What do you mean by you?”

”S.H.I.E.L.D. Barbecue?”

Natasha leaned sideways against the sofa and asked with a smile.

”Ragnarok.”

Orion Cross uttered the word.

”Ragnarok? Is that the name of your organization? Or your company? It does seem to fit your character setting.”

Natasha’s brows drew together slightly, but her smile soon spread again. S.H.I.E.L.D.’s highest-level information was Level Ten, and Natasha happened to be the highest-level Level Ten agent. So before Nick Fury sent her here, she had already reviewed the files related to Orion Cross.

”Looks like you’re not interested. What a pity.”

Seeing Natasha’s expression, Orion Cross knew she had refused, and he could not help shaking his head.

”I’m just an ordinary agent. There’s nothing to pity. You can recruit someone else, like Tony Stark?”

Natasha rolled her eyes and smiled.

”Forget him.”

Orion Cross chuckled and said, ”Besides, when I said it was a pity, I didn’t mean it was a pity that I couldn’t recruit you. I meant it’s a pity that a Level Ten agent like you will have only one use in the future: your beauty.”

”What do you mean by that? Am I misunderstanding something?”

Natasha’s smile slowly disappeared as she asked. She was very confident in her appearance, but that did not mean she believed she had only her appearance. There were only two kinds of things that had nothing but beauty: vases and prostitutes.

”You’re not misunderstanding. If nothing unexpected happens, then in that Avengers plan of Nick Fury’s, as time passes, you’ll increasingly discover that you’re nothing more than a vase.”

Orion Cross spoke very bluntly.

”Perhaps I should let you see whether I’m a vase or not.”

Natasha’s eyes gradually became dangerous.

”I advise you not to make a move.”

Orion Cross lightly tapped the glass tabletop.

”Yes, perhaps in your eyes, I really am just a vase.”

Natasha sat stiffly upright on the sofa, not daring to move at all. Around her, a ring of soldiers made of flowing sand had suddenly appeared, aiming black and white revolvers at her head.

”I’m not deliberately looking down on you. I’m just telling the truth.”

Orion Cross waved his hand, and the flowing sand returned to the fish tank in the living room. The Demon Pistols and Holy Pistols were also withdrawn into his storage space.

”There’s no need to compare yourself to me. You only need to think about the difference in strength between you and the Hulk.”

”Then think about Tony Stark, whose armor can keep being upgraded. Think about the difference between you and him.”

”If you truly encountered an evenly matched opponent, what could you do?”

”Wouldn’t the others still have to split their attention to protect you, an ordinary person, so the enemy doesn’t casually take your head?”

”Would you stand on the side with your little pistol and scrape the enemy’s skin?”

Orion Cross did not hold back at all. With a few words, he directly struck down Natasha’s pride as Black Widow and as a Level Ten agent to the very bottom. Indeed, Nick Fury had discussed having her join the soon-to-be-established Avengers team, and she had agreed. But at the time, she had not thought too deeply about it. Now it seemed that joining the Avengers meant she would go from being a top agent to the lowest-ranked Avenger. Going from the strongest to the weakest was a gap wide enough to leave her dazed.

”Perhaps you’ll still have one use.”

”At some point in the future, when someone has to be sacrificed, that will be your time to step forward.”

”Of course, if your luck is bad and Tony sacrifices himself with you, then everyone will definitely remember him and not you.”

Orion Cross’s words stabbed straight into Natasha’s heart again. Although she knew Orion Cross was using language to attack and influence her, for some reason, Natasha felt that what he said was real, as if it would truly happen.

”Have you seen my future?”

Natasha suddenly remembered from the files that Orion Cross had a mage friend who possessed the Time Stone. She abruptly raised her head and stared into his eyes.

”All I can say is that if nothing changes, your future is indeed like that.”

Orion Cross paused, then directly admitted it. This did not really count as deception, since the premise was ”if nothing changes.”

Natasha took a deep breath. She hesitated. Mediocrity was the word she had once hated most, yet she had never expected her future to be almost bound to it.

”Have you, or that mage friend of yours, ever seen your own future?”

Natasha suddenly came back to her senses and asked.

”No.”

Orion Cross shook his head and said, ”Ever since I killed the Three Fates, all beings related to prophecy have instinctively avoided me. Even after Olympus was destroyed and its divine power ceased to exist.”

The Ancient One had told him this before, and it had nothing to do with divine power. It was equivalent to Orion Cross being placed on a ”blacklist” after killing the Three Fates, a blacklist formed by all prophetic and temporal abilities. No one could rely on pure prophecy to obtain his past or future.

”Then... are you truly mortal?”

Afraid that Orion Cross would misunderstand, Natasha added, ”What I mean is, the epic heroes recorded in those legends are generally demigods, hybrids of humans and gods... Are you?”

”There isn’t even the slightest trace of divine blood in my body.”

Orion Cross spoke frankly. His War Aspect had been ignited with a mortal body, and it had no connection to gods at all.

”I have one more question.”

Natasha took a deep breath and looked at Orion Cross.

”Can I intern here?”

After saying those words, Natasha suddenly felt her whole body relax.

”You can. It depends on your performance. If your internship performance is too poor, you can still be dismissed.”

Orion Cross smiled.

”I must be crazy. It’s our first meeting, yet I’ve already been ’turned’ by you.”

At this moment, Natasha also let go. She walked straight to the fridge and took out a can of cold beer.

”It’s fine. You can temporarily work two jobs. I allow it.”

”Temporarily?”

”Some things jump around and then disappear all on their own.”

Natasha took a sip of cold beer, and her expression gradually turned serious. ”Are you talking about S.H.I.E.L.D.?”
