Not Being a Trainer This Time

”Calyrex, the Legendary King of Bountiful Harvests, possesses the power to make crops ripen instantly and flowers bloom in a flash. It is said that when He descends upon a place, He will make the land abundant.”

”Perhaps some viewers still remember that this spring, it was this Pokemon that helped restore vitality to this forest.”

”What a magnificent Pokemon!” Reporter Chloe softly remarked in front of the camera.

And just at that moment, the photographer in charge of recording the program suddenly noticed a peculiar phenomenon above the shrine.

A flash of light streaked by, and a Pokemon with an enormous head, akin to wearing a crown, appeared above the shrine, looking down at the humans below with a face full of benevolence.

The photographer was so astonished that he gaped, quickly moving the camera.

Seeing his actions, Reporter Chloe also turned around to look.

When she saw the figure identical to the statue displayed in the shrine, her mouth formed an ’o’ shape in surprise.

”Wow! That Pokemon... could it be Calyrex? Oh my god! Calyrex has appeared!”

The townspeople who were praying also saw Calyrex. Mayor Thomas, knowing that Calyrex lives in Naoki Ranch, wasn’t too surprised.

However, other uninformed townspeople were full of excitement.

The Legendary Pokemon has appeared! It must have sensed their sincerity, which is why it manifested here!

This scene was broadcasted across the entire Paldea Region.

At that moment, everyone watching the evening news witnessed the figure of Calyrex with their own eyes.

Naoki, standing not far away with Koraidon and other Pokemon, watched the expressions on people’s faces.

He could already predict the content on tomorrow’s news headlines.

”Shock! The Legendary Pokemon appears at the festival, its purpose is—”

”Bonds between Pokemon and humans! The Legendary Pokemon trusts humans, forming friendships with them through the festival, watching over this land!”

Undoubtedly, this news will make more people aware of Calyrex’s existence, thereby providing Him with more faith and more power.

In this era where information spreads so rapidly, if nothing unexpected happens, the deeds and legends of Calyrex will be forever passed down.

Today’s events may eventually turn into a new legend, becoming an eternal story of mutual devotion between humans and Pokemon.

From now on, Calyrex will no longer have to worry about being forgotten by the world, thereby losing strength and falling into a previous state.

”Phew...” Gazing at the scene before him, Naoki couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

It’s quite nostalgic, who could have imagined how things would develop to this extent today?

Initially, he only wanted to capture Calyrex’s two beloved horses to participate in the town’s horse racing tournament.

Little did he know, his faith inadvertently helped Calyrex and established trust with Him.

In front of the Abundant Shrine, Calyrex floated gently towards the people, looking at those who worshiped Him, grateful to Him, and trusted Him with a gentle gaze.

If a year ago today, someone told Him He would revive in the future, He would never have believed it.

But now, it indeed happened.

His little disciple traveled afar across the sea to that unfamiliar land to find Him, helping Him retrieve His beloved horses, restore His strength and memory.

And invited Him to this brand-new land, spreading His legend everywhere, making more humans aware of His existence.

All of this not only helped Him but also allowed His power to break through Himself to reach a new height.

Naoki felt deep gratitude in Calyrex’s heart.

For the humans living on this land, He was also willing to trust them, bringing abundance to them.

Thinking of this, Calyrex’s gaze turned to Naoki not far away, meeting his eyes with warmth.

Everything was conveyed without words.

Naoki smiled slightly and said to the Pokemon beside him, ”Alright, let’s go take a walk down the mountain!”

The Pokemon had no objections.

On the mountain path downwards, Ogerpon looked at the brightly lit scenery around and the lively atmosphere.

This reminded it of the festival it once participated in at Kitakami Region Mossui Town.

Ogerpon thought of that deceased man. Perhaps being touched by the scene, its eyes filled with tears, and it cried out sadly.

”Bonnie...”

Naoki and the surrounding Pokemon froze for a moment, then all turned their gaze to Ogerpon.

”Dingling?!”

Gholdengo was somewhat flustered; it couldn’t understand why the happy Ogerpon suddenly started crying.

Naoki, on the other hand, could roughly guess.

He reached out and patted Ogerpon’s head, asking, ”Are you thinking about the past again?”

Ogerpon looked at him sadly, ”Bonnie.”

Naoki sighed, not rushing down the mountain. Instead, he took Ogerpon to sit down on a less crowded mountain path.

Today the weather was good, it was a cloudless Sunny Day, the night sky was clear, and being here, one could see an extremely beautiful starry sky.

Naoki watched the stars with the Pokemon and said:

”In our human lives, there’s a saying that when someone leaves this world, their soul ascends to become a star in the sky, watching over their loved ones, guiding them in the dark night with direction and a path forward.”
