Not Being a Trainer This Time

Brother Dragonite can see that all the Pokemon here really like him.

Reflecting on the recent times when Naoki has been working hard to help with its special training, Brother Dragonite is filled with gratitude towards Naoki and decides to do something for him.

So, when night falls and it returns to Dragonite Island, it rides the moonlight back to its nest, rummages around, and then finds a precious scale that has fallen from its own body.

This scale is no ordinary scale, it is an Outrage scale from its body.

Once, in an accidental battle, it fell off, causing it much pain. After the battle ended, Brother Dragonite picked up the Outrage scale and treasured it.

Now, it has decided to give this precious scale to Naoki.

The next day, when Naoki received the gift from Brother Dragonite’s hands, he was utterly shocked.

He looked at the scale in his palm and asked in disbelief: ”For me?”

Brother Dragonite nodded, with a low growl: ”Hoo-ooo.”

Naoki and its gaze met in the air, and after a few seconds of eye contact, he instantly understood the Dragonite’s intention.

It’s expressing its gratitude in its own way!

Truly a Dragonite with feelings and righteousness! Naoki thought.

Although it looks fierce, pursuing the path of strength, it never bullies the weak and instead helps others.

Naoki recalled an elderly woman living in town once called him specifically to thank him for his Dragonite saving Sprigatito.

Naoki’s heart was filled with affection for this Dragonite.

”I received it.” Naoki gently exhaled and then said: ”From now on, live with us on the farm!”

Brother Dragonite looked at him solemnly, then responded: ”Hoo-ooo.”

After saying this, it went off to find Naoki’s Dragonite to hone their skills.

Meanwhile, Naoki lowered his head to examine the crescent-shaped Dragon Scale.

The next second, the information about this Dragon Scale appeared in his mind.

[Dragonite’s Outrage scale: Special item, received due to Dragonite’s trust, filled with deep gratitude, containing the power of dragons, when made into a dish, some mystical effects might appear.]

Naoki was taken aback.

Another item filled with emotion?

He remembered last time he received such a special item; it was the Friendship Berry given by the Pokemon he helped in the forest.

Those Berries were filled with the gratitude of Pokemon, and when made into dishes, they could enhance the dish’s quality.

But soon, Naoki noticed something remarkable.

This scale was not an ordinary scale but an Outrage scale from Dragonite!

For Dragon-type Pokemon, the Outrage scale growing on them is incredibly important.

And now... this Dragonite actually gave him such a precious item.

Naoki’s heart was suddenly filled with complexity.

Will the Outrage scales of Dragon-type Pokemon fall off by themselves? From his observations, they won’t.

Because whether it’s Koraidon or Dragonite, their Dragon Scales will not automatically fall off.

This means this Outrage scale must have fallen off by accident, like in a battle.

Back then, how painful must have Brother Dragonite been?

Thinking of this, Naoki suddenly felt his Golden Finger was quite devilish.

Looking at this Dragon Scale which could be made into a dish, this time, he decided not to use it but to treasure the Outrage scale.

Naoki returned to the living room with the Outrage scale, the Calyrex sitting on the sofa watching TV noticed his expression and asked in surprise: ”What happened to you?”

Naoki showed the Outrage scale in his hand: ”This is Dragonite’s Outrage scale, it gave me this precious scale.”

Then, Naoki introduced to Calyrex the importance of Outrage scales to Dragon-type Pokemon.

”Under normal circumstances, the Outrage scale of Dragon-type Pokemon does not fall off. Now this scale has only one possibility, which is falling off during a battle, how painful must have Dragonite been back then?”

Hearing this, Calyrex’s face was solemn, and it nodded slightly, its eyes flashed blue light, activating its ability.

Then, scenes from the past and future of the Outrage scale appeared in its mind.

In the past, it saw Dragonite losing its mind due to the pain from its Outrage scale being knocked off.

In the future, it saw this Outrage scale transforming into a force entering Naoki’s body, and Naoki started using that force to help the Dragon-type Pokemon on the farm.

Calyrex was slightly startled, and after a while, it spoke: ”You can use your power to make it into a dish.”

Naoki was stunned: ”What do you mean?”

Calyrex explained: ”I saw this item transform into your power in the future, the scene of you using it to provide Helping Hand to the Pokemon.”

Hearing this, Naoki was utterly puzzled.

What does Calyrex mean? This scale becomes his power, and then he uses that power to help Pokemon?

Calyrex did not say much more but directly transmitted the scene it saw into Naoki’s mind.

The next second, a scene appeared in Naoki’s mind.

In the scene, he touches the scar of Brother Dragonite with his hand, and a faint light emanates from his hand.

That light flows into Brother Dragonite’s body, making it look quite content.

What is... that power?

Soon, the scene vanished, and Naoki momentarily could not regain his composure.

Although unclear about what exactly happened in the future, Naoki obtained one piece of information from it — the effect of the dish made from this Outrage scale can provide Helping Hand to Brother Dragonite.
