Not Being a Trainer This Time

”Vee vee?” (Can Espeon really use Future Sight?) an Eevee asked.

Naoki nodded: ”That’s what the book says.”

The Pokedex entry for Espeon records such information.

It is said that Espeon originally had no special abilities, but it awakened its predictive power in order to protect itself.

Its entire coat of fur is extremely sensitive, using its fine, short fur to sense the flow of air, detect subtle changes in the air, and accurately predict upcoming weather and opponents’ actions, and so on.

Receiving a positive response, the little Eevee happily nodded: ”Vee vee paw!” (Then I want to evolve into Espeon, so I can know in advance when Naoki is coming home!)

Naoki raised an eyebrow and asked curiously: ”Why do you want to know when I’m coming home?”

The little Eevee instinctively replied: ”Vee... vee!” (So I can sneak some ice cream from the fridge without getting caught... oops! I accidentally said it out loud!)

Eevee quickly covered its mouth,

Naoki sighed: ”I only stop you from eating too much because I’m worried you’ll get a stomach ache. If you get sick, it’s going to be really uncomfortable.”

Eevee drooled: ”Vee!” (But ice cream is so tasty!)

Naoki: ”...”

Oh well, if it gets a stomachache, I can get my sister’s Indeedee to use Lunar Dance, and if that doesn’t work, we can visit Miss Joy at the Pokemon Center in town.

”So, what about you two?” Naoki turned his gaze to the other two Eevee.

One of the Eevee looked at Koraidon, eyes filled with determination: ”Vee!” (I want to evolve into Sylveon!)

Naoki was curious: ”Why?”

Eevee was full of fighting spirit: ”Vee!” (Because Sylveon can defeat Dragon-type Pokemon!)

Upon hearing this, Naoki understood.

Oh, so that’s why it’s been waiting here!

He remembered a few days ago when he took Eevee to sleep, Koraidon saw so many Eevee on the bed and wanted to jump up too, but at the time, Naoki thought the bed was too crowded and was worried about squishing the little Eevee, so he refused Koraidon.

As a result, Koraidon got jealous, feeling that the Eevee had stolen its Naoki, so it deliberately pulled an Eevee off the bed, making it sleep by its side.

The poor little Eevee was almost scared to death, wanting to get back on the bed, but Koraidon wouldn’t let it go, so in the end, the Eevee started crying.

The crying woke Naoki, who had to spend a lot of effort to calm it down.

Ever since, that Eevee regarded Koraidon as a villain.

Naoki glanced at the speechless Koraidon, and couldn’t help but laugh: ”You can try, but Koraidon’s very powerful, and not just an ordinary Dragon-type Pokemon. It’s very difficult to defeat.”

”Vee!” (I will work hard!)

Eevee remained full of fighting spirit.

Koraidon: ”Ah gah ss...”

Naoki then turned his gaze to the last Eevee: ”And you? What kind of Eevee do you want to evolve into?”

This Eevee looked left and right, seemingly undecided.

After a while, it finally spoke: ”Vee...” (It seems like only a partner Eevee…)

Naoki: ”What kind of Eevee do you want to evolve into? Besides a partner Eevee, you can evolve into other types as well, and I will help you grow in that direction.”

However, this Eevee shook its head, and after a moment, as if it had made up its mind, said firmly:

”Vee!” (I want to be a partner Eevee!)

Naoki was slightly taken aback and asked: ”You don’t want to evolve into another type of Eevee?”

Eevee shook its head vigorously: ”Vee vee!” (No! I want to be an awesome partner Eevee!)

More importantly, it didn’t want to evolve into the same-looking Eevee as others; it wanted to be the unique Eevee in Naoki’s heart and in the ranch!

So, it planned to stay as an Eevee and keep Naoki company!
