Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

89: Now that we have Lawson as a major resource...The next day, the alert Si Nan suddenly opened her eyes, only to see that Corpse Brother on her balcony tinkering with something.

She walked over. ”What are you doing?”

”Sen Sen is planting vegetables for Big Sister to eat.” Luo Sen had pulled out one of her withered potted flowers and was digging into the soil with a small trowel.

Her lips twitched, wanting to ask, ”The key point is, can the vegetables you plant even be eaten?”

He was just a Child, and as long as he could entertain himself, she didn’t mind. ”Then plant them slowly. I’m going to wash up and prepare breakfast.”

Yawning, she went to the bathroom. When she came out, Luo Sen was still tinkering with the flower pot. She ignored him and went downstairs to the kitchen. Soon, a sumptuous breakfast was ready, the portion more than three times her usual amount. She hoped it would be enough.

”Yay, Big Sister is so great! Sen Sen wants to drink milky-milk.” Luo Sen followed the scent of the food and directly took the pure milk.

Si Nan set aside a small portion for herself and gave all the rest to Luo Sen. ”Eat up, it’s all yours. After you finish, Big Sister will take you out to play.”

Luo Sen was overjoyed to hear this. ”Mhm, mhm! Wherever Big Sister goes, Sen Sen goes too.”

”Ha, good boy.” Si Nan curled her lips. She would be a fool not to utilize such a great resource. It was still snowing outside, and there was no telling when it would stop. Moreover, it had only been 20 days since the Apocalypse began; it was the prime time to scavenge for supplies.

This guy could eat so much; how could she manage without preparing more? While cooking just now, she thought that since she had a great resource like Luo Sen, she could move up the timeline for the things she wanted to do.

The first thing was to quickly search for supplies. During this time, the zombies had mostly cleared out those malicious neighbors in the residential area. Later, when she had time, she could take over the entire neighborhood, clear out the zombies and corpses, heighten and reinforce the walls, and turn the entire place into her territory.

Since she needed to heighten and reinforce the walls, she would need materials and manpower. Bai Zichuan and the others could manage things, the surviving Property Owners could do the labor, and she would provide the food.

By rewarding food based on labor, tasks completed, and specific quotas—implementing a strict food reward system—she wasn’t afraid of those people being disobedient.

Whoever wanted to live in the safe neighborhood she built had to earn their place; otherwise, they would be relegated to a separate building to fend for themselves.

This was also preparation for the future. Once the peak zombie period ended, various factions would surely start carving up territories. By then, much of the land would be contaminated by the black blood of zombies, making it difficult to grow edible crops. While everything was just beginning, it wasn’t too late; she had to act in advance.

No sooner said than done.

She calculated her plans while eating breakfast unhurriedly.

”Sen Sen is finished.” Before she could even finish her glass of milk, Luo Sen on the opposite side had put down his chopsticks, the plate in front of him wiped clean. A phrase popped into her head: ’The reincarnation of a starved ghost.’

Si Nan smiled, then suddenly realized something as she looked at Luo Sen. ”You’re not stuttering anymore? My god, it’s only been one night.”

She stood up excitedly, circled around Luo Sen twice, and then told him, ”Open your mouth.”

”Ah—” Luo Sen was very cooperative. Inside his mouth were still teeth and a tongue; no mutations.

”How strange.” She didn’t understand. What exactly was Luo Sen’s condition?

Regardless, she quickly finished her breakfast and threw the dishes into the trash. For safety’s sake, she was using disposables now.

Afterward, she went back to her room to change. Just in case, she wore a bulletproof vest underneath and brought her weapons.

She measured Luo Sen’s foot length, took out a pair of tall boots from her space for him to wear, and after arming him, she drove the Armored Vehicle out. Along the way, they drew the envious gazes of the survivors.

”Whoa, so cool.”

”If only I had an Armored Vehicle like that, I could drive out to find supplies.”

”It’s nice, but wouldn’t you just be surrounded and eaten by zombies once you get out of the car?”

”You’re clearly just green with envy.”

”As if you aren’t the same.”

By now, the Armored Vehicle’s tracks had already crushed through the neighborhood’s iron gates, plowing through the zombie horde as it rushed out. It moved over the white snow as if on level ground, even crushing the fallen zombies beneath it.

Luo Sen, beside her, was thrilled. ”Big Sister is so cool!”

Si Nan looked straight ahead. ”Then how about Big Sister takes you to find more delicious food?”

”Okay, okay!” Luo Sen naturally loved the idea, clapping his hands like a real Child.

Looking at Luo Sen like this, Si Nan gave a bitter smile. ”Perhaps you are happier like this than before, but I would rather have the old you back. At least you wouldn’t be living in such a daze, not knowing what you’re doing or understanding what the future is.”

”In a bit, Sen Sen will help Big Sister find lots and lots of yummy food, and then find a pretty barbie doll for Big Sister. It has to be the one with the prettiest pink clothes.”

Si Nan’s hands on the steering wheel stiffened. She didn’t dare look at Luo Sen again. He still remembered! His intelligence had truly reverted to that of a two or three-year-old, yet he actually remembered this.

It was a sunny weekend afternoon. Aunt Meng had something to do and had sent Luo Sen to her house. As it turned out, Luo Sen had broken the pink barbie doll her mother had just bought her, making her incredibly sad.

At that time, Luo Sen was only three years old. He had coolly said that when he grew up, he would definitely buy her an even prettier barbie doll—the prettiest pink barbie doll there was.

The memory was sweet, but reality was bitter.

Si Nan suppressed her sadness and quickly snapped out of the nostalgic reverie. She turned and smiled at Luo Sen. ”Okay, Big Sister will be waiting. But you have to promise Big Sister not to run around. When we get out of the car later, you have to hold Big Sister’s hand. We’ll look for the barbie doll together, okay?”

”Okay, okay! Mommy said Sen Sen is a man and has to protect Big Sister. Sen Sen listens to Mommy.”

”Mhm, such a good boy. If you behave well, Big Sister will treat you to braised pork at noon.” Si Nan smiled bitterly.

”Yay!” Luo Sen made a peace sign.

Suddenly, with a *thud*, the Armored Vehicle vibrated as if it had hit a mountain. Si Nan looked up sharply. The front of the car was surrounded by zombies, blocking the entire road. One zombie, with half its internal organs exposed, was pushing against the hood with both hands.

Luo Sen, sitting in the car, suddenly became a different person. A chilling killing intent overflowed from his body, forming waves of murderous aura that were almost becoming tangible.

”This?” She had only seen this kind of power on television; she never expected to see it in reality, let alone that Luo Sen would be the one using it.

Before Si Nan could say anything, Luo Sen opened the sunroof himself. In the next second, he flew straight out of the car and let out a roar at the zombie blocking the Armored Vehicle.

Immediately after, an invisible force surged from the palm of Luo Sen’s hand. With a *shing*, that imposing and brawny zombie was split in two.

With another move, he swept the other zombies away. In the blink of an eye, he cleared a wide path for the Armored Vehicle. Even the white snow was gone, revealing the concrete road surface.

Si Nan was dumbfounded. ”My god, Luo Sen can fly! And he possesses extraordinary power? Could this have been produced by a genetic mutation?”
