Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

71: Verify whether Song Yuan is qualified.Song Yuan did not continue speaking, because he could no longer find the words.

Beside him, Mei Xue had long been weeping uncontrollably. They had just bought this small Villa, thinking better days were ahead, but who would have thought—Si Nan finally gave him only one sentence: ”Fine, I accept your surrender. Rest assured, as long as you have no ulterior motives and follow me with absolute loyalty, completing the tasks I assign to you, your wife and Child will not run out of food.”

”Thank you, I will not betray you.” Song Yuan looked at Si Nan’s promise with excitement, nearly shedding tears despite his manly image. From now on, his wife and Child would be able to survive. Across the distance from the other residents, he bowed 90 degrees toward Si Nan’s Villa.

However, the next message was enough to make Song Yuan’s blood boil while also filling him with trepidation.

Si Nan said, ”Depends on your courage. I have prenatal milk powder.”

”Thank you, thank you. I’ll get ready and go right away.” Song Yuan agreed immediately without any hesitation. prenatal milk powder! With this, his wife and Child would have all the nutrition they needed.

But Mei Xue became suspicious. ”Hubby, don’t you think it’s strange? How does an unmarried girl like her have prenatal milk powder?”

Song Yuan was excitedly putting on his leather coat. ”Wife, I believe her. Wait for me.”

”But there are so many zombies outside, and our house is separated from theirs by several other residents. How will you get there? And how will you return safely?”

Mei Xue still didn’t agree, refusing to let her husband take the risk no matter what. But after she had reduced her milk intake over the past few days, coupled with the lack of fresh vegetables and other food, her weight had dropped drastically.

She didn’t matter, but she was afraid the baby wouldn’t be healthy, especially since she was now in the late stages of pregnancy and needed a lot of nutrition. Her husband was already down to one meal a day; she didn’t dare imagine what would happen if this continued.

If she had to sacrifice her husband—how could she bear it!

But the cruel reality forced her to give up on stopping him. ”Wait a moment, let me help you put on some protection. If I don’t, I’ll be even more uneasy.”

”Okay. Wife, don’t worry, for you and the baby, I will definitely come back alive. If, and I mean if, I come back as a zombie, you must not open the door for me. Do you understand?”

Thinking of this, Song Yuan immediately reminded his wife.

”Don’t say that. You will definitely come back alive. I believe in your strength.” Mei Xue covered Song Yuan’s mouth. Even if it was a lie, she wanted to deceive herself and her husband for a moment.

”Alright.” Song Yuan stood still, smiling as he let his wife dress and equip him in layer after layer.

Si Nan sent a message to remind him. The first part was all about how to deal with zombies, but the latter part was the main point: ”On the way here, when you cut open a zombie’s head, if you see something sparkly like a diamond, remember to collect it and give it to me.”

Song Yuan looked at it and didn’t understand what kind of strange thing Si Nan was talking about, but he immediately replied with a single word: ”Okay.”

Twenty minutes later, a fully armed Song Yuan set out. The moment the courtyard gate opened, the zombies that heard the noise swarmed over. ”This?”

Even though he had watched videos of zombies many times and seen them from upstairs, seeing such a dense crowd of zombies at such close range still made his body tremble involuntarily.

But thinking of his wife and Child, and knowing he couldn’t fall here, he swung the iron rod in his hand, sweeping away the countless zombies that lunged at him, and slammed the courtyard gate shut instantly.

The moment he turned around, his eyes were sharp and his movements agile. He darted through the gaps between the zombies, swinging his iron rod to clear a path for himself, quickly rushing toward Si Nan’s direction.

Si Nan was zooming in on the surveillance screen to watch him. She had originally thought about using a small drone to deliver the milk powder to Song Yuan’s house, but then she thought she should test Song Yuan’s skills and courage.

To see if he dared to kill, if he dared to face countless zombies alone. It turned out Song Yuan did dare, and he was even a rare and fierce warrior. She was satisfied.

She added an extra can of prenatal milk powder as a reward for Song Yuan taking the first step. She packed the two cans of milk powder into a backpack and then sent it outside her courtyard gate via drone for Song Yuan to pick up easily.

The zombies guarding the door heard the noise, twisted their stiff necks to look, and seeing it wasn’t a living person, went back to pounding on the door.

Meanwhile, Song Yuan had just fought off a wave of zombies only to be surrounded by a dense crowd again, led by a tall and powerful zombie.

This zombie seemed different from the others; it could control other zombies to do its bidding.

For instance, right now, it gave a ”roar,” and the other zombies all charged forward recklessly, each wanting to tear him to pieces.

”To catch the bandits, first capture their leader.” Song Yuan picked up his speed, gripping his iron rod tightly as he swept through the horde, forcing back the surrounding zombies before charging at the Leading Zombie.

Strangely, while he was fighting this Leading Zombie, the other zombies automatically kept their distance.

It was as if he had been given a perfect opportunity to fight without distraction. After three minutes, this Leading Zombie still hadn’t been knocked down. Though its movements were stiff like a slow-motion cartoon, its strength was immense.

A strike from his iron rod would have surely split the flesh and downed any ordinary mortal, but this zombie was only knocked back. It looked down at its deformed arm and continued to attack him.

To be honest, looking at the tattered flesh hanging off its body, he really couldn’t help but want to vomit. But at the thought that if he died, his wife and Child would lose their long-term meal ticket, he forced the urge to vomit back down. Survival was paramount.

”Come on then. Since I can’t kill you for now, I’ll have you do me a favor.”

He thought of a good idea. He provocatively pointed his iron rod at the Leading Zombie’s head, then sprinted forward and delivered a heavy ”thud” to its head before turning and bolting away.

”Roar~” The Leading Zombie, which had regained a bit of intelligence, was furious. Its body lopsided, it chased after Song Yuan, while the other zombies automatically cleared a path for them out of fear.

In this way, Song Yuan employed hit-and-run tactics, deliberately provoking the Leading Zombie while running away after each strike, never lingering. This continued until he reached the gate of Si Nan’s courtyard and saw a black backpack.

He forced back the zombies lurking at Si Nan’s gate, grabbed the backpack, and swung it onto his back. The round sensation of the contents inside made him weep with joy and gave him infinite strength.

Seeing the Leading Zombie about to rush in front of him, he dodged nimbly. The moment their bodies crossed, he slammed his iron rod into the Leading Zombie’s back and turned to run back.

”Roar, roar, roar!” This time the Leading Zombie was completely enraged. It tilted its head back and let out a roar, and in the next second, the surrounding zombies quickly closed in on Song Yuan.

”Then come at me.” Song Yuan didn’t dare be careless, but he knew full well he was no match for so many zombies. He swung his iron rod, moving it up and down with great speed, solely focused on escaping with his life.

However, he had underestimated the situation. With fresh food right there, how could the Leading Zombie let him escape?
