Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

84: ”Can’t you change your fate if you start over?””No objections.” Ma Bufan and Guan Xiaoning shook their heads.

Bai Zichuan said, ”Thank you for your trust. Before we split it equally, I’ll say this: I have two small children at home, so I’ll take one bag of milk powder. Give the other bag to Song Yuan; his wife is also about to give birth.”

”I’ll take a few more bottles of mineral water, and I don’t want anything else. The rest can be split equally among you.”

”Then take this too; it’s a snack for the Child.” Song Yuan gave a bag of children’s biscuits to Bai Zichuan.

”And this, children’s jelly. Big Brother Bai, take this too.” Ma Bufan and Guan Xiaoning also picked out the children’s snacks and gave them to Bai Zichuan.

Bai Zichuan didn’t expect everyone to be so polite, completely unlike the selfishness usually seen in the Apocalypse. ”Thank you, everyone. This is enough. Everyone, find a bag and let’s divide the rest quickly.”

Si Nan listened to their brotherly camaraderie and smiled, relieved as she went downstairs. If they had scrambled for that pile of things or come to blows, she would have been the next to strike—she wouldn’t want a single one of them!

Although character is a rare commodity in the Apocalypse, those without it are enemies. What use would she have for them?

The villa was very large, at least 300 square meters. The layout was similar to her own villa; besides the front yard, there was also a backyard.

At a glance, she saw three luxury cars parked side by side in the open garage, each at least eighty percent new.

She walked in and, out of the corner of her eye, saw seven or eight corpses piled in the innermost corner. Among them were two children a few years old, all frozen into ice sculptures. They were the owners of the house, clearly slaughtered by Shi Yong and his pack of beasts.

Such things no longer moved her much. She looked away and put the cars into her space. By the time she returned to the first-floor living room, Bai Zichuan, Song Yuan, and the others had already finished dividing the supplies and were waiting for her.

Si Nan walked past them and found three sets of car keys on the entryway console, which happened to correspond to those three cars. She pointed her small hand at the old crane in the yard. ”Which of you knows how to operate that thing?”

”I do,” Song Yuan replied immediately. He even shook a set of keys in his hand at Si Nan. ”I just found these on Shi Yong. My wife’s brother is a crane operator, and I learned a bit from him in my spare time.”

”I thought that if my salary wasn’t great in the future, I’d do it as a side job to earn some milk powder money. I never thought I’d use it here.”

So Song Yuan immediately climbed onto the old crane and operated it on the spot for Si Nan to see.

Si Nan watched his fairly skillful operation and joked, ”Operate the crane for me, and I’ll make sure you earn that milk powder directly.”

”Hahaha, thank you, Sister Nan.” Song Yuan followed Ma Bufan and the others in calling Si Nan ”Sister Nan.”

Seeing that Song Yuan had called her that, Bai Zichuan followed suit. ”Ahem, Sister Nan.”

Si Nan rolled her eyes at him with a smile. ”If it’s that awkward, you might as well not say it. Try again.”

Bai Zichuan gave an embarrassed laugh and immediately called out with full confidence, ”Sister Nan.”

Si Nan nodded. ”Mm, you all performed well today. As a reward, go back and get some good rest. From tomorrow on, intensify your training. You’re still too weak; even if you all came at me together, you still couldn’t beat me.”

The five of them: ”...”

On the way back, Song Yuan drove the crane in front to clear the way, responsible for taking Bai Zichuan, Ma Bufan, and the others back. Si Nan drove the armored vehicle back slowly by herself.

After she finally dropped Song Yuan off and returned, she patted the towering crane. Just as she was about to take a nice hot bath, the phone, which had been silent for a long time, suddenly rang.

It was an unknown number, but a very good one, ending in all sixes.

”Who would be looking for me?” Si Nan raised an eyebrow at the auspicious number. What would anyone want with her in the middle of the Apocalypse?

Curious, she pressed the answer button. An urgent yet familiar voice came through: ”Thank heavens! Xiao Nan, Auntie finally unlocked A Sen’s phone and found you. Time is limited, so I’ll keep it short.”

Hearing this voice, Si Nan suddenly thought of the time when her parents were still around. The two families would go on happy weekend picnics. Because her mother was busy, Aunt Meng always chose the locations—places with green hills and clear waters, all very beautiful.

At every gathering, Auntie took great care of her, buying her many treats and gifts, treating her even better than her own son, Luo Sen.

Thinking of this, Si Nan’s eyes immediately grew moist. ”Aunt Meng, long time no see. Are you, Uncle Luo, and Luo Sen all doing well? I sent Luo Sen many wechat messages in a row, but he never replied.”

”Xiao Nan?” Meng Liqi choked up, unable to continue.

”What happened? Auntie, please tell me.” Si Nan was anxious. She had a bad feeling—someone must have had an accident.

Suddenly, she thought of the first thing Meng Ziqi said: ”I finally unlocked A Sen’s phone and found you.” It felt like a bolt from the blue. ”No, Auntie, it couldn’t be that something happened to Luo Sen, right?”

Starting over, can his fate still not be changed?

”Yes, it’s A Sen... something happened to him. *Sob*...” Meng Ziqi covered her mouth and burst into tears.

Boom!

Si Nan stumbled back a few steps, filled with pain. In her past life, Luo Sen had died for her. In this life, the zombie virus broke out early, and the timeline had changed. She thought she could also change Luo Sen’s fate, but she didn’t expect... ”Ah—!”

Si Nan let out a roar toward the sky, venting all the indignation in her heart. Why must there be one less person who was good to her?

Inside the phone, Meng Liqi calmed herself and said, ”Xiao Nan, listen to me. A Sen was bitten by a special zombie while trying to save his father, right at our doorstep.”

”I couldn’t accept it, so I gave him an injection of a Serum Antidote I had just developed. This antidote was originally something I researched to combat stubborn viruses. It was just finished before A Sen forcibly brought me back from the pharmaceutical company where I was on a business trip, and it hadn’t been tested yet.”

”A Sen is our only son. We didn’t want him to become a mindless walking corpse, so we took a gamble.”

”I won that gamble. The Serum Antidote delayed A Sen’s mutation and suppressed part of the zombie virus in his body, preventing him from becoming a bloodthirsty walking corpse that bites living people.”

”However, his intelligence has reverted to that of a two-year-old Child, and he possesses supernatural abilities beyond humans; his strength is ridiculously high. We stayed with him for a week, and he didn’t bite us, but he still likes to eat raw meat.”

”Xiao Nan, Luo Sen still has some reason and a few memories. Even though he turned into a zombie and his intelligence is at a two-year-old level, he still remembers you. Every day he clamored to see you, and he really did go.”

”He loves you very, very much. Ever since the first time you met as children, he has liked you deeply.”

”What? Luo Sen likes me? He’s coming to find me?” Si Nan couldn’t believe it. But they hadn’t seen each other during their growth; where would these feelings come from? Besides, Luo Sen had never come to her and confessed.
