Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

61: A zombie horde has arrived, and the scumbag is surrounded.Si Nan gave them a scolding: ”What are you minors pretending to be big shots for? Stay put, no one is allowed to go. The Zombie Tide is coming, and it’s only a matter of time before the residential area falls. It can’t be stopped. If you can, hurry up and store water and electricity.”

”Oh, oh, understood.” The two replied promptly. Now Si Nan was their leader; her word was law, and no one dared to disobey.

Bai Zichuan wouldn’t go down even more. He hadn’t finished unboxing the packages in two rooms, and there was a months-old infant at home. He replied immediately, ”Definitely not going.”

At the same time, Gao Ming and the others weren’t so lucky. Bursting with confidence, they were now surrounded by suddenly moving zombies, forming a sea of corpses that blocked them in completely.

The surrounding mangled zombies were densely packed, one after another, all roaring and frantically smashing their car windows, wanting to eat the people inside.

”Ahhh, help! So many zombies! We’re not going to make it, we’re not going to make it!”

”Shut up, you bitch!”

Xia Mi’s screams of terror, mixed with angry scolding and hitting, pierced the eardrums, echoing on the overpass leading towards Si Nan’s direction. Xu Da (Xu Songquan’s uncle) knocked Xia Mi unconscious with a punch.

”Impossible.” Gao Ming still couldn’t believe it; the car actually couldn’t move, and the saws in front wouldn’t turn either.

The truth was, their cheap armored vehicle, which they thought was invincible and could slay any zombie army blocking their path, had long since stopped turning.

Because the three saws in front were jammed with the stiff bones of zombies and were stuck; someone needed to go down and clear them.

But outside were countless terrifying zombies; no one dared to open the inner and outer protective railings.

Experience counts. Xu Da ordered Gao Ming and Xu Songquan, ”Turn off the engine, turn it off now. Everyone stay still and don’t speak. We wait. We wait for dark, wait for them to fall asleep at night, then start the car and break through the encirclement.

You two, look ahead. The bridge in front is empty—no cars and no zombies. As long as we get through this stretch, there won’t be any obstacles. After getting off the bridge, it’s only five minutes to that little bitch Si Nan’s villa. We have to hold on no matter what.”

”Uncle is still the smart one. Gao Ming, turn off the engine quickly.” Xu Songquan suddenly saw a glimmer of hope for survival.

”Okay, we’ll do whatever Uncle Xu says.” Gao Ming was also scared into calmness by the dense crowd of zombies outside. His previous fearless arrogance vanished without a trace, and he obediently turned off the engine.

”Bang, bang, bang—” The zombies outside continued to attack their car. Even through the thick bulletproof glass windows, they could hear the zombies’ unwilling roars.

On the outermost protective frame, every steel bar thicker than a thumb was bent and deformed by the zombies’ smashing, with a few even pressed against the car glass.

The three of them widened their eyes, their pupils shrinking in fear. If the smashing continued, it would be dangerous. Even bulletproof glass couldn’t withstand prolonged brute force attacks, not to mention that the repair shop didn’t have very good bulletproof glass; it was just slightly better than ordinary glass.

What was even more terrifying was that with the frame deformed like this, they couldn’t even get out of the car. Wouldn’t they die just the same? These zombies were too terrifying. They were originally ordinary people, and it was unexpected that after being infected by the virus and turning into zombies, their strength increased several-fold. Fortunately, they had no intelligence and were like wild beasts.

If they regained human intelligence and knew how to use tools like hammers and stones to smash the windows, the consequences would be unimaginable. They wouldn’t survive at all.

Everyone held their breath, silently watching the surroundings of the car.

Soon, after a few minutes, seeing no movement from the car and unable to eat the people inside, some zombies gave up and left, while others were still unwilling and continued to smash the outer protective iron frame.

However, the three conscious people inside were having a hard time. Because the car was sealed and lacked fresh air, they were all red-faced and gasping for breath, feeling quite miserable.

Gao Ming and Xu Songquan were alright, being young after all. But Xu Da was different; he was a bachelor in his fifties.

He had committed a crime when he was young and spent twenty years inside, so his health was already poor. He had finally been released, and in less than a year, such a terrifying thing as the virus infection happened. He was truly unwilling to accept this.

Xu Da picked up a bottle of mineral water and took two sips, feeling a bit better. He wanted to take a third sip—seeing that the bottle was almost finished, he didn’t dare drink anymore. There would be nowhere to relieve himself later, so he had to endure.

Seeing him like this, Gao Ming and Xu Songquan, sitting in the front, also followed suit, taking small sips of mineral water to get a tiny bit of oxygen from the water.

Until nearly twenty minutes had passed, the three of them really couldn’t take it anymore.

Xu Da whispered to Gao Ming, ”Quick, open one window in the front and one in the back, just a crack. We’ll lean against the crack to breathe.”

”Okay.” Gao Ming couldn’t wait; he was really about to go into shock, so he quickly did as told.

Just as the two windows were opened a crack, the Zombie Tide that had originally receded smelled the scent of living people and suddenly returned, smashing the car with ”Roar—bang, bang, bang—”.

”Uncle Xu, what do we do now?”

”Ah, Uncle, they’re back.”

Gao Ming and Xu Songquan quickly moved away from the windows. Even with the thick car glass in between, they were pale with fright.

Having no choice, Xu Da had Gao Ming close the rear window, leaving only the front one, and all three of them leaned against that one crack to breathe.

They didn’t care about Xia Mi’s life or death at all. Whenever she woke up, Xu Da would knock her out with a heavy punch, determined not to give her a chance to wake up and compete for air with them.

The car was attacked like this for a long time, nearly flipping over during the process. Fortunately, the three of them quickly shifted their positions to prevent the car from turning over. Finally, as it was about to get dark, the zombies gave up and gradually dispersed and left.

”Whew, that was close.” The three of them immediately breathed a sigh of relief, and their hearts, which had been in their throats, finally settled back into place.

However, before they could even feel happy, the turbulent sea level below the bridge began to change. The originally flowing water suddenly stopped moving and began to freeze at a speed visible to the naked eye, the area expanding further and further.

Xu Da was extremely shocked. As the threat of death approached, he cried out, ”Oh no, this is a sudden drop in temperature. A once-in-a-century Extreme Cold is coming! Quick, quick, quick, start the car, or else in a moment, we won’t be able to start it even if we want to!”

”Ah, right away.” Gao Ming’s hands were shaking with fear. He quickly turned the car key, but no sound could be heard; the car didn’t make a sound.

”Again!” Xu Da urged anxiously.

”I-I-I’m turning it.” Gao Ming was so scared he was stuttering, but still, there was no sound.

”Let me do it.” Xu Songquan couldn’t stand it anymore and immediately swapped seats with Gao Ming. He tried to start the car repeatedly—failure after failure, over and over. He turned the key dozens of times in succession, but the car wouldn’t start.

”How could this happen?”

”Uncle, I don’t want to die here—”

”Come on, make a sound, make a sound! Move, move!”

At this moment, it was already dark. The three of them looked ashen, utterly desperate—
