Urban Martial Saint

Outside the hotel, there were many people, mostly martial artists from all directions, and you could say all kinds of people were gathered there.

About thirty meters away from Ye Qing on the roadside, a sleazy man with a center-parted hairstyle was enthusiastically explaining the amulet in his hand to a bald man in his forties. This guy was talking so much he was almost spitting, yet he couldn’t use any idioms properly, although he insisted on using a few. Twice the effort for half the result? Who would want such a thing?

This sleazy man was none other than Old Wang Ba.

Seeing Old Wang Ba, Ye Qing, Huangfu Ziyu, and Liu Mubai immediately laughed because all three of them knew Old Wang Ba.

”What’s this old guy doing here?” Huangfu Ziyu laughed, ”He’s even here cheating people. With so many martial artists, he’d be kicked out of sight with just one kick from each!”

Old Wang Ba, this guy never leaves himself a way out. Tricking those ordinary people was one thing, but now coming to a place with so many martial artists and choosing to cheat martial artists, isn’t that just looking for trouble?

Fortunately, that bald guy seemed to have a low IQ as well, looking dumbfounded by Old Wang Ba’s tricks. One hand was already reaching into his pocket, seemingly ready to take out money to buy the amulet.

Old Wang Ba, while cheating, was also quietly watching the bald man’s actions. Seeing that he was about to take out the money, Old Wang Ba got even more excited, explaining more exaggeratedly, almost describing the amulet as Aladdin’s Lamp.

Just as the bald man was about to take out the money, suddenly, a hand rested on Old Wang Ba’s shoulder, ”Comrade, could you show your ID please?”

Old Wang Ba shivered all over. This old guy was wanted everywhere. Hearing this, he thought he’d met the police, and in such a situation, he certainly felt uneasy.

”Sorry, officer. I... I forgot to bring my ID...” Old Wang Ba chuckled awkwardly, turning his head to explain, only to see Ye Qing and the other two behind him chuckling.

Old Wang Ba was stunned for a moment, then glared and said, ”How old are you to be playing this game? Is it fun for you guys?”

The old guy had been quite scared earlier, and now he wasn’t speaking kindly.

Ye Qing laughed loudly and said, ”Why are you wandering around here for no reason? I heard that the Capital is also after you. Aren’t you afraid of getting caught by the police here?”

”Would Eighth Master be scared of those police?” Old Wang Ba sneered, turning to look at the bald man, ”So, are you buying or not? You won’t find this shop after this village!”

The bald man had already taken out his money, but he still glanced at Ye Qing uneasily and asked in a low voice, ”Is he... is he a wanted criminal?”

”Of course!” Ye Qing laughed, ”Fraudster, wanted nationwide!”

”Damn you!” Old Wang Ba quickly turned to cover Ye Qing’s mouth, but it was too late.

The bald man’s face changed, immediately putting the money back in his pocket, pointing at Old Wang Ba’s chest in anger, ”Damn, I knew it. You bastard, you’re a total fraud. You wanted to trick me? Do you think I’m easy to fool? I’m as sharp as a monkey, and you think you could trick me?”

Old Wang Ba stepped back two steps, holding his chest, ”Buddy, if you’re not buying, then you’re not buying, no need to get physical, right?”

The bald man was immediately displeased, ”Who are you calling buddy? Who are you calling buddy? I’m only thirty-eight years old, who are you calling buddy?”

”Thirty-eight?” Old Wang Ba widened his eyes, ”Dude, you seem to have grown up quite fast!”

After saying that, Old Wang Ba turned and ran because the bald man was already looking for something to throw.

Watching Old Wang Ba flee in panic, Ye Qing and the others shook their heads with a smile. This old guy really had nerves of steel, daring to offend anyone.

The three of them followed Old Wang Ba as he ran off. Indeed, feeling a bit guilty, he didn’t linger long and found a small shop to sit down in.

Seeing Ye Qing and the others following, Old Wang Ba immediately stood up, ”Boss, bring out your most expensive food and drinks!”

Old Wang Ba, this old guy, was definitely the type to strip a feather from a passing goose. Seeing Ye Qing and the other two, he must have planned to take advantage of them big time.

Ye Qing didn’t stop him, taking Huangfu Ziyu and Liu Mubai over to sit in front of Old Wang Ba and asked, ”Eighth Master, why did you come to the Capital? How’s Shenchuan City?”

”It’s good over there. Wang Tian’an got beaten and ran away. Now White Horse Chen San is chasing him over to the Western Province, and there’s probably no suspense in this fight,” Old Wang Ba said, ”Just when Helian Tiehua meets Prince Nalan, I came to the Capital to join in the excitement and see old friends.”

”Old friends?” Ye Qing looked around and said, ”You have old friends here?”

”Hehe...” Old Wang Ba chuckled and said, ”Alright, enough about me, let’s talk about you. Kid, did you really break the Twin Life Gu?”

”I did!” When mentioning this, Ye Qing actually felt a bit sad. Although he broke the Twin Life Gu, the cost was too great. The Fire Sang girl lost her life because of it, which would always remain an indelible pain in Ye Qing’s heart.

Huangfu Ziyu, seeing Ye Qing’s expression, knew what he was thinking, so she gently patted Ye Qing’s hand, signaling him not to feel too sad.

Old Wang Ba watched the two’s affectionate gesture from across them and immediately widened his eyes, saying, ”Wow, you two...what’s going on with you two?”

Old Wang Ba’s words made Huangfu Ziyu blush, and Ye Qing was slightly embarrassed, lightly laughing, ”I’m planning to marry Ziyu!”

”What?” Old Wang Ba widened his eyes, staring at Ye Qing for a while, and suddenly said, ”Then what about Shen Qingyi?”

Those words immediately changed the expressions of both Ye Qing and Huangfu Ziyu. Ye Qing still felt some affection for Shen Qingyi. However, once he made his choice, he wouldn’t change it. And Huangfu Ziyu, she knew Shen Qingyi’s feelings towards Ye Qing, so she felt some guilt towards Shen Qingyi.

In fact, Ye Qing and Huangfu Ziyu both didn’t want to bring up this matter and had carefully avoided the topic before. But Old Wang Ba, the old guy, spoke without thinking and brought it up in front of them, making it difficult for them to answer.

Luckily, Liu Mubai was sitting nearby. Seeing Ye Qing and Huangfu Ziyu’s expressions were not right, he quickly changed the subject: ”Eighth Master, you haven’t said yet, which friend are you visiting in the Capital?”

”Damn, talking about it, I’m still upset about this!” Old Wang Ba spat and said, ”It’s not me visiting a friend, it’s that thieving bald monk visiting a friend!”

”Thieving bald monk?” The three of Ye Qing looked puzzled, not knowing who Old Wang Ba was referring to.

Just as Old Wang Ba was about to speak, he suddenly pointed behind Ye Qing and said, ”Look, he’s here.”

The three of them turned to look and saw a filthy monk striding in from outside. This monk’s head was chopped off as if with a knife, and his hair was stubbly, not resembling a monk at all. His robes were dirty with oil, and when he came closer, there was a strong smell of alcohol. The way he looked, he was more like a rogue monk who eats meat and drinks rather than a real monk!

Seeing this monk, Ye Qing was taken aback, as he had seen this monk before. The last time he returned to his hometown and dined with Old Fifth Yang and others, this monk came over, ate all the food and drink on the table, and spoke some cryptic words. At the time, Ye Qing thought he was a highly skilled person, but unexpectedly, this monk also knew Old Wang Ba.

Huangfu Ziyu was even more shocked than Ye Qing, because she had seen the monk’s abilities firsthand. When she and Ye Qing fell off a cliff, it was this monk who saved them. Moreover, this monk was quite familiar with the Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun, suggesting they were of the same generation. Besides whatever the monk’s identity was, Huangfu Ziyu was very clear about one thing, the monk’s strength was absolutely astonishing!

Liu Mubai didn’t know the monk, so his reaction was relatively calm, only finding the monk’s appearance quite strange.

”Baldie, Baldie, over here.” Old Wang Ba stood up, spread his arms, and shouted loudly.

There were several bald-headed men sitting in the small shop, and they all turned to look over at the same time. But Old Wang Ba ignored them completely and just waved his hands at the monk.

The three of Ye Qing, sitting next to Old Wang Ba, all picked up menus to cover their faces. Walking with someone like this, you should always be prepared to be publicly criticized. This old guy doesn’t feel any embarrassment and doesn’t even discuss it with others.

The monk, seeing Old Wang Ba, immediately walked over with a sly smile and sat directly beside Ye Qing, saying, ”Have you ordered the food and drinks?”

”Already ordered.” Old Wang Ba pointed at Ye Qing and said, ”This kid is treating, eat as much as you like, don’t be polite!”

”That’s great!” The monk laughed heartily, and really loosened his belt, preparing for a feast.

The monk’s posture looked just like that of a hungry wolf, but Ye Qing knew this monk was certainly not simple. He put down the menu, smiled at the monk, and said, ”Master, we meet again!”

”This is called fate!” The monk laughed, ”Young man, you have a connection with my Buddha...”

”I just don’t like hearing this!” Old Wang Ba immediately interrupted the monk, saying, ”I think he has a connection with the Dao, not your Buddha nonsense, stop talking nonsense here!”

Old Wang Ba is from the Iron Calculation Sect, following the laws of Zhouyi Bagua and the Taoist Sect. The monk is from the Buddhist Sect, believing in Buddhist fate. When these two are together, they really won’t concede to each other.

The three, Ye Qing, actually didn’t have much opinion about these matters. After all, whether the Buddhist Sect or Taoist Sect, it’s all just faith. How much can fate change? The monk said Ye Qing had a connection with Buddha, but was he implying Ye Qing should become a monk?
