Urban Martial Saint

Ms. Tsubaki’s words left Helian Qingfeng stunned, while Nalan Tianyu was even more puzzled.

”You... you and the Bloody Monk are still in a brotherly relationship?” Nalan Tianyu asked curiously, ”Wasn’t it said that the Bloody Monk was from Xiaolin Temple? He slaughtered everyone in Xiaolin Temple alone back then, and Xiaolin Temple has long been empty. How come three senior brothers have suddenly appeared? Wasn’t it said that only the Bloody Monk walked out alive from Xiaolin Temple?”

”Those are just rumors. How many people from Xiaolin Temple survived? Our own people should know,” Ms. Tsubaki laughed, ”However, my second senior brother did kill quite a few people, otherwise, how do you think he got that blood-stained kasaya.”

Helian Qingfeng and Nalan Tianyu both knew the origin of the Bloody Monk’s name. It was because he slaughtered everyone in Xiaolin Temple overnight, and the monks’ blood dyed his kasaya red, earning him the title Bloody Monk. However, they never expected the situation of Xiaolin Temple to be different from the legend, with fewer deaths than rumored. At least, according to Ms. Tsubaki, there were still three people alive from Xiaolin Temple.

Most importantly, the Bloody Monk’s strength was sufficient to rival the top masters like the King of North-South Boxing. With such strength, he still had to hide from his senior brother? How strong must his senior brother be, at least as powerful as the King of North-South Boxing, right?

Setting aside the strength of these two, the mere strength of Ms. Tsubaki was extraordinary. Xiaolin Temple was indeed too terrifying, a veritable place full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers. The remaining three were all top-tier masters. If Xiaolin Temple existed today, how many top masters would it contain?

Despite Ms. Tsubaki’s formidable powers and lustful nature, it was clear this person didn’t have too many scheming thoughts. She spoke directly, without beating around the bush. She said what was on her mind, revealing a lot after just a few questions from Helian Qingfeng and Nalan Tianyu.

On the other side, the Netherworld Scholar, unable to detain Ye Qing, limped over. Upon seeing Helian Qingfeng and Nalan Tianyu, he was surprised, saying, ”Why are you here?”

The Netherworld Scholar was hired by Helian Qingfeng to kill Ye Qing, so in this matter, he stood at the same position as Helian Qingfeng and Nalan Tianyu.

Helian Qingfeng shrugged helplessly, saying, ”We saw that person surnamed Ye coming out with you, so we wanted to come and help you. Unexpectedly, a flood rushed into Dragon King’s temple, and we ended up fighting ourselves, allowing that person surnamed Ye to escape!”

As Helian Qingfeng spoke, he glanced at the Right Protector behind him. Actually, they were hiding in the shadows watching the battle, with no intention to intervene. The Right Protector rushed up and started fighting directly, forcing them to engage as well, resulting in this situation. Ultimately, the blame for this situation lay on the Right Protector.

The Netherworld Scholar also looked at the Right Protector, who glared back and angrily said, ”What are you staring at? Just now, they were sneaking around here, and Ms. Tsubaki was in seclusion nearby. I thought they had some plot and naturally wouldn’t let them go!”

Fearing the Right Protector, the Netherworld Scholar, after being scolded, could only mumble, ”They... they are actually our own people!”

”How should I know if they’re our own people?” The Right Protector retorted angrily, ”Sneaking around like that, they surely harbor ill intentions. Netherworld Scholar, don’t let yourself be deceived; don’t forget we have more important matters to attend to. Plus, the Killing Gate Seven Hidden are looking for the two of us. If word gets out, do you want to die?”

The Netherworld Scholar opened his mouth but dared not say more. Ms. Tsubaki seemed oblivious to their argument, clinging intimately to the woman, truly living up to the name Joyous Monk.

After watching a while, the Netherworld Scholar couldn’t help but whisper, ”Ms. Tsubaki, these... these few are my friends and are with us. Maybe we can let them go back first?”

”No!” Ms. Tsubaki waved her hand decisively, saying, ”Tomorrow Helian Tiehua will enter the Capital with his son, so I can have a good fight with him. Also, Nalan Tianyu. Buddha Master wasn’t lightly bothered by the Nalan family back then; this time, I want them to taste that feeling too. You go find a rope and hang this kid for a day and a night!”

”Huh?” The Netherworld Scholar was surprised that Ms. Tsubaki wouldn’t even let his own people go and hastily protested, ”Actually we share the same target, which is Ye Qing...”

Ms. Tsubaki sharply looked up at him, startling the Netherworld Scholar into swallowing the rest of his words.

”Remember, that Ye Qing is your enemy, your target, not mine. So don’t talk to Buddha Master about sharing goals or having the same target, the Buddha Master doesn’t care!” Ms. Tsubaki said coldly, ”This time Buddha Master wants to personally fight Helian Qingfeng and Old Man Nalan. As for other matters, don’t bother Buddha Master!”

After saying that, Ms. Tsubaki picked up the woman and directly headed toward the Water Tower, not forgetting to instruct the Right Protector, ”Watch these people carefully for me, tomorrow you’ll take them to find Helian Qingfeng and Old Man Nalan, make sure they don’t die.”

”Alright!” The Right Protector responded decisively and watched the departing Ms. Tsubaki before turning to the Netherworld Scholar, saying, ”You heard it, hang them up!”

”Wait a moment!” Helian Qingfeng exclaimed urgently, ”He just said to hang Nalan Tianyu, when did it become them?”

The Right Protector glanced at him and said, ”I don’t like the look of you, so I’m going to hang you, got a problem with that?”

Helian Qingfeng opened his mouth but ultimately could only swallow his words in frustration, staring angrily at the Right Protector.

”If you dare lay a finger on me, my grandfather will definitely not let you off!” Nalan Tianyu shouted loudly, ”This is the Capital, Nalan Family’s territory. As long as you are in the Capital, don’t think about escaping. I advise you to let me go quickly. Otherwise, I will definitely have my grandfather kill you!”

The Netherworld Scholar looked at the Right Protector, who completely ignored Nalan Tianyu and just gestured for him to hang Nalan Tianyu quickly.

The Netherworld Scholar dared not defy the Right Protector’s orders, so he could only use a rope to tie up Nalan Tianyu and hang him on a nearby tree. No matter how much Nalan Tianyu cursed and shouted, the Netherworld Scholar paid him no mind and just hung him on the tree.

With only Helian Qingfeng left, the Netherworld Scholar initially did not want to hang him, but with the Right Protector watching intently, he had no choice but to hang Helian Qingfeng’s group as well. However, Helian Qingfeng hadn’t uttered a single word throughout. Compared to Nalan Tianyu, Helian Qingfeng was much more composed and much darker in demeanor. His brow remained furrowed, and it was unclear what he was thinking.

On the other side, Ye Qing seized the opportunity to escape and did not dare slacken, sprinting along the road but unable to catch a ride even after dozens of miles. Finally, out of options, he hitched a ride on a large vehicle into the city.

Back in the city, Ye Qing immediately contacted Liu Mubai. Coincidentally, Liu Mubai was staying at a hotel. On hearing that Ye Qing was in danger, he promptly came out to meet Ye Qing.

Once in the city, Ye Qing felt somewhat relieved. After all, this was the bustling city center, and that monk wouldn’t dare make a move here, right? However, for safety’s sake, he switched hotels and with the Overlord Spear, moved to a hotel near a police station, safer at least.

After settling in the hotel, Ye Qing recounted the encounter with the monk to Liu Mubai. After listening to Ye Qing, Liu Mubai also furrowed his brows tightly, his eyes flashing with shrewdness, pondering for a long time before suddenly asking in a deep voice, ”Did you say the monk was practicing inside a water tower?”

”Yes!” Ye Qing nodded, looking at Liu Mubai in surprise, ”Is there something wrong?”

”Is there water in the water tower?” Liu Mubai asked again.

”Of course there is,” Ye Qing said, ”Moreover, there’s definitely a lot of water inside. That monk is surely soaking in the water to practice.”

”Practicing in the water!” Liu Mubai’s eyes gleamed even brighter, and after a long silence, he finally spoke in a deep voice, ”In that case, this monk is most likely practicing an extremely aggressive form of Inner Strength.”

”Why do you say that?” Ye Qing asked, puzzled.

”This is an ancient method of practice,” Liu Mubai explained, ”It is said that some extremely fierce Internal Martial Arts techniques generate a lot of heat during practice, often causing practitioners to be steamed alive. So later, someone invented the method of practicing in water to offset the heat, allowing continued practice.”

”Such a thing exists?” Ye Qing’s eyes widened. Having only studied Inner Strength for a short time, he knew little about these matters.

”Internal martial arts requiring water immersion are not only fierce and aggressive; more importantly, they are incredibly powerful and explosively potent,” Liu Mubai said solemnly, ”However, these techniques have long been lost. It’s unclear where the monk found such a technique. If mastered, its power would be terrifying!”

Ye Qing recalled the monk’s audacity in challenging the King of North-South Boxing, making him more convinced of Liu Mubai’s words. After all, if he had no real skill, how could he challenge these top-level masters?

”The Right Protector and Netherworld Scholar are following such a person?” Ye Qing furrowed his brow deeply and said in a grave tone, ”Not only did he steal my Seven-Star Ancient Sword, but he also has designs on Zi Yu and Qingyi. This person must be guarded against!”

Liu Mubai sighed and said, ”Given the monk’s strength, even with Miss Huangfu, we wouldn’t be his match. In my opinion, the best course is to hide for a couple of days. Helian Tiehua is arriving in the Capital tomorrow, and Prince Nalan is already there. With these two present, they won’t allow the monk to act recklessly in the Capital. When the time comes, we can watch and figure out a way to reclaim the Seven-Star Ancient Sword!”
