Urban Martial Saint

The Nalan Family mobilized fully, concentrating all their efforts to search for Nalan Tianyu. However, Nalan Tianyu and Helian Qingfeng were currently on the outskirts of the city, under the control of Ms. Tsubaki, which the Nalan Family couldn’t have imagined. They were left in the suburbs, so they kept searching in the urban area, which of course, yielded no results.

However, Nalan Lie’s target was set on Ye Qing, which was easier to find. After all, Ye Qing was in the Capital city, and the Capital was the territory of the Nalan Family. Wanting to find someone in the Capital city was incredibly easy for the Nalan Family.

It was just that when he knew where exactly Ye Qing was, Nalan Lie was dumbfounded too. He never would have imagined that Ye Qing had actually moved into that hospital, which only high-ranking officials of the Capital could use for convalescence.

It must be known that only Prince Nalan could come and go freely from this hospital. As for Nalan Lie, he definitely didn’t have the privilege to enter freely. And with Ye Qing staying there, how could this news not be shocking? Could it be that Ye Qing had some important network of relationships in the Capital city?

In fact, Nalan Lie had previously investigated information about Ye Qing, including Ye Qing’s background. To be honest, Ye Qing’s rise in Shenchuan City made Nalan Lie quite impressed. However, in his heart, he did not see Ye Qing as much of an enemy. After all, Ye Qing’s foundation was weak, with only Zhou Bolong and Liu Changping from the Eastern Province supporting him on the official side. While he could dominate in the Eastern Province, outside of it, he didn’t have much capability.

And the Capital where the Nalan Family resided was under the feet of the emperor, a gathering place for big figures. Even if Zhou Bolong was extremely powerful in the Eastern Province, he didn’t have much say in the Capital. Therefore, Nalan Lie did not pay much attention to Ye Qing because he felt that Ye Qing didn’t have the resources to set foot in the Capital city.

But now, this discovery made it very hard for him to accept. Ye Qing being able to come and go freely from that hospital indicated that Ye Qing’s network of relationships in the Capital city was definitely not simple. It’s known that the network in the Capital was nationally applicable. In other words, Ye Qing’s current status far exceeded his previous expectations!

Moreover, as it stands, if Ye Qing lived in that hospital, then no one could touch him. Although powerful, the Nalan Family would never dare to cause trouble near that hospital in the Capital. If they truly angered the higher-ups in the Capital, even the Nalan Family wouldn’t be able to withstand it.

Nalan Lie originally planned to return and report this matter to Prince Nalan, letting Prince Nalan make the decision. However, just as he was about to leave, he received another piece of news: Liu Mubai was not staying in the hospital but was staying in another hotel!

Nalan Lie knew of Liu Mubai’s good relationship with Ye Qing, and upon hearing this news, an idea popped into his head. He didn’t return to the Nalan Family but went straight to that hotel to find Liu Mubai.

Liu Mubai was alone in the room, primarily on guard for Ms. Tsubaki. Who knew, instead of Ms. Tsubaki, people from the Nalan Family showed up.

Nalan Lie brought a few people to guard the door, with more than ten people downstairs. Nalan Lie knew of Liu Mubai’s excellent skills, which was why he made such extensive preparations to prevent Liu Mubai from escaping suddenly.

Upon seeing Nalan Lie, Liu Mubai immediately furrowed his brows and said in a deep voice, ”The Nalan Family, are you planning to overwhelm with numbers?”

”Not really, we just want to find Mr. Ye Qing and ask a few questions.” Nalan Lie looked at Liu Mubai and said, ”I have also heard of the name Wolf of Mongolia. I respect you as a man and do not wish to make things difficult for you. I just want to speak with Mr. Ye Qing. So, I hope Brother Liu could make it convenient and give Mr. Ye Qing a call!”

Nalan Lie’s words, spoken politely, reduced Liu Mubai’s hostility significantly. He glanced at Nalan Lie and said, ”Any questions you have, you can ask me, it’s the same!”

”Probably.” Nalan Lie sighed and said, ”I heard that Mr. Ye Qing met up with you as soon as he arrived in the Capital. So, about whom Mr. Ye Qing encountered and what happened, Brother Liu, you surely know, right? I...”

Upon hearing this, Liu Mubai knew what Nalan Lie wanted to ask. He directly raised his hand and interrupted Nalan Lie, saying, ”Are you asking about the whereabouts of Nalan Tianyu?”

Nalan Lie’s expression changed; Liu Mubai saying this indicated he definitely knew where Nalan Tianyu went. It seems that this time they really found the right person. Finding Liu Mubai surprisingly led to finding Nalan Tianyu.

”Brother Liu knows where Tian Yu is?” Nalan Lie asked urgently.

Liu Mubai replied, ”I do know, but whether he’s alive or dead now, that’s hard to say!”

The people from the Nalan Family immediately became furious, ready to rush into the room, but fortunately, Nalan Lie stopped them in time. He frowned deeply, looked at Liu Mubai, and said in a deep voice, ”What do you mean by this, Brother Liu? Did Tian Yu encounter some danger?”

”There’s no need to look at me like that. I indeed wanted to teach him a good lesson, but not to the extent of wanting to kill him,” Liu Mubai shrugged and said, ”Nalan Tianyu was taken away by someone called Ms. Tsubaki!”

”Ms. Tsubaki?” Nalan Lie widened his eyes; he clearly hadn’t heard of this name before.

Liu Mubai said, ”Oh, right, he has another name, Joyous Monk.”

”Joyous Monk!” Nalan Lie exclaimed suddenly, his complexion changed instantly; that name was quite familiar to him.

”Seems like you know him too,” Liu Mubai said, ”Nalan Tianyu was taken by him. As for whether he has any grievances with your Nalan family, you should know better than me. However, there’s one thing I must say. Nalan Tianyu falling into Joyous Monk’s hands this time is entirely his own doing. He set a trap to deal with Ye Zi, but ended up trapping himself and was captured by Joyous Monk. If the Nalan family doesn’t manage Nalan Tianyu well, even if he survives this time, it’s hard to say for the next!”

Nalan Lie furrowed his brow tightly, paying little attention to Liu Mubai’s latter comments, as he was still pondering over the matter of Joyous Monk.

Joyous Monk, of course Nalan Lie knew, was once a formidable enemy of the Nalan family. When Nalan Lie was young, Joyous Monk had formed a deep feud with the Nalan family, having humiliated three of their young women, and the Nalan family nearly killed Joyous Monk. Their mutual grudges had long been unresolved, and the Nalan family was constantly hunting him. Yet, Joyous Monk disappeared for over a decade, and unexpectedly reappeared, capturing Nalan Tianyu, a major incident indeed!

”Thank you for the warning, Liu,” Nalan Lie cupped his hand towards Liu Mubai, saying, ”May I ask one more question, Liu, do you know where Joyous Monk captured Tian Yu?”

”North Suburb, next to a Water Tower,” Liu Mubai replied.

”North Suburb Water Tower?” Nalan Lie slowly nodded towards Liu Mubai, saying, ”Apologies for today’s intrusion, the Nalan family has urgent matters, I must attend to them first. If there’s a chance later, I’ll definitely invite Liu for a few drinks!”

Liu Mubai didn’t speak much, as he didn’t have a good impression of the Nalan family. Although Nalan Lie spoke politely, it was obvious to Liu that he was quite shrewd and not easy to associate with, and Liu Mubai didn’t intend to have much interaction with him.

Nalan Lie walked out of the room and immediately called Nalan Fangyuan, instructing him to take people to the North Suburb Water Tower to search for Nalan Tianyu and the others.

Nalan Fangyuan and his team were searching all over the city for Nalan Tianyu, but unexpectedly, Nalan Lie learned Tianyu’s whereabouts first. Fang Yuan and his team didn’t dare waste any time, quickly gathering a dozen or so people and rushing straight to the North Suburb Water Tower.

Nalan Fangyuan was quite familiar with the terrain of the Capital and the surrounding areas; he frequently visited the North Suburb Water Tower, so he knew the area well. Upon arriving, from afar, he spotted two people hanging upside down from a tree.

Upon closer inspection, one of them turned out to be Nalan Tianyu, and the other was Helian Qingfeng.

Neither Nalan Tianyu nor Helian Qingfeng knew how long they had been hanging there, both appeared utterly exhausted, their bodies shaking uncontrollably. Nearby, lay several individuals, Nalan Tianyu and Helian Qingfeng’s subordinates, who seemed to be quite severely injured.

Seeing such a situation, Nalan Fangyuan’s expression changed; he immediately led the group rushing over. Over there, upon hearing the commotion, Nalan Tianyu managed to lift his head slightly and, filled with joy, exclaimed urgently, ”Uncle! Uncle! Save me! Save me!”

Seeing the Nalan family members filled Nalan Tianyu with renewed energy. However, his shouting changed Fang Yuan’s expression once more. He quickly gestured to Tian Yu to be quiet, but having seen his rescuers, Tian Yu had forgotten to do anything but desperately call for Nalan Fangyuan to save him.

Beside him, Helian Qingfeng saw the Nalan family arriving and was invigorated as well, quickly telling Tian Yu, ”Stop shouting, you’ll lead that monk here!”

Nalan Tianyu finally came to his senses, promptly shut his mouth, and looked around, relieved to find no one else was nearby, calming him slightly. He watched with excitement as Fang Yuan and the others approached, eagerly anticipating rescue, desperate to be freed from his suspended state.

Nalan Fangyuan remained vigilant, closely watching his surroundings for any potential ambush. Fortunately, as they approached the tree, there wasn’t a shadow in sight, easing his mind considerably.

Nalan Fangyuan reached the base of the tree, drew a dagger from his side, and prepared to cut the ropes to free Nalan Tianyu and Helian Qingfeng. Just then, an unexpected rustling sound emerged from the treetop.

Nalan Fangyuan immediately looked up, only to see a shadow charging down at high speed from the treetop, pouncing directly at him!
