Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing did not resist, getting into the car with the police officers. However, he remained highly vigilant, aware that someone was deliberately framing him. These people certainly weren’t just taking him to the police station without further intentions; there might be other plans in store.

Fortunately, Ye Qing was no longer the same as before. A mere pair of handcuffs couldn’t restrain him. If anything happened, Ye Qing could break them at any moment to guard against unforeseen events.

Outside the alley on the opposite side was a parking area with many vehicles, inside one of which sat Helian Qingfeng and others, including Nalan Tianyu.

Watching Ye Qing being led into the car, Nalan Tianyu sneered coldly, saying, ”Hmph, here in the Capital, it’s really easy to deal with him. Just a phone call from me, and I can have him spend ten years or more in prison anytime!”

Helian Qingfeng did not speak. Watching Ye Qing being taken away, he then said in a deep voice, ”What’s the point of locking him up for ten years or more? What I want is his life!”

Nalan Tianyu glanced at Helian Qingfeng, not opposing his words, and said in a deep voice, ”But, these things aren’t capital offenses. Should we falsely accuse him of other crimes to bury him completely?”

”No way!” Helian Qingfeng shook his head resolutely, speaking in a deep voice, ”Ye has reached his current position, and it’s not without someone behind him. His biggest support in the Eastern Province, the East Province Military Region Commander-in-Chief Zhou Bolong, was once one of the founding heroes, with profound connections in the military world. Using official channels to kill Ye Qing is simply impossible!”

Nalan Tianyu said indignantly, ”Hmph, this is the Capital, can Zhou Bolong outmaneuver my Nalan Family?”

Helian Qingfeng glanced at Nalan Tianyu, silently cursed him as an imbecile, but showed no expression, and spoke in a deep voice, ”Zhou Bolong indeed cannot outmaneuver your Nalan Family, but don’t forget, your grandfather doesn’t support your moves against Ye Qing. If this matter gets big and everyone in the Nalan Family finds out, do you think the Nalan Family will fully support you? Without the full support of the Nalan Family, you alone probably cannot go against Zhou Bolong!”

Nalan Tianyu opened his mouth but ultimately couldn’t refute Helian Qingfeng’s words. Indeed, the Nalan Family’s immense power did not mean he himself held great sway, as he depended on the Nalan Family for survival, without any speaking rights in the Capital. To confront Zhou Bolong was fundamentally impossible!

”Then what do you plan to do?” Nalan Tianyu asked, ”Should we find some people to kill him directly in the detention center?”

Helian Qingfeng laughed inwardly. Nalan Tianyu was supposedly the successor to the Nalan Family, yet he couldn’t fathom why Prince Nalan chose him. Against a person, he used such vile tactics which were ineffective; how could such a person lead the Nalan Family?

”Ye Qing himself possesses overwhelming courage; who can you find to kill him in the detention center?” Helian Qingfeng waved his hand, saying, ”Don’t worry about this matter. I’m already prepared. Right now, the key is absolute secrecy; no one should know we did this!”

”Rest assured!” Nalan Tianyu responded readily, ”This matter has always been very secretive; no one knows anything. Moreover, even the report was made by those people, I haven’t even utilized my police connections yet!”

”That’s best!” Helian Qingfeng nodded slowly, remained silent for a moment, then said, ”But, there are still some people who know about this matter!”

”Which people?” Nalan Tianyu asked in curiosity.

Helian Qingfeng gestured toward the alley, Nalan Tianyu turned to look and saw that several men and a woman also came out from the alley.

They too were accompanying the police back to the station to assist in the investigation, but Ye Qing was directly taken away by the police car. These people, due to their numbers, couldn’t fit in the police car, so two officers accompanied them, waiting for another police vehicle to pick them up. Now, they had just come out of the alley and were standing at the entrance, waiting for the car.

Seeing them, Nalan Tianyu’s expression immediately changed, his eyebrows furrowing, he said, ”These people are with us; there won’t be a problem!”

”Is that so?” Helian Qingfeng said coldly, ”If Ye Qing investigates further, the first person he will seek out will surely be these people. Do you think they can withstand severe torture?”

”This...” Nalan Tianyu scratched his head; these people usually followed him for a living, appearing loyal. But severe torture, who can truly endure it?

”Should I tell them to leave the Capital and stay elsewhere for a while?” Nalan Tianyu asked quietly.

”No!” Helian Qingfeng said firmly, speaking in a deep voice, ”These people must die! Only the dead can be perfectly secret!”

”Is that necessary?” Nalan Tianyu said, ”To kill Ye Qing, do we have to sacrifice so many lives? Is it worth it?”

Helian Qingfeng glanced at Nalan Tianyu and retorted, ”It’s not about whether it’s worth it now. We’ve come this far, and we have to do it. If we don’t deal with them, this matter will eventually be investigated, and it will surely implicate us. When that happens, if this comes out, my father definitely won’t let me go. As for you, daring to defy Prince Nalan’s orders, you probably won’t have a good time either!”

Hearing this, a flicker of fear crossed Nalan Tianyu’s eyes. He was indeed afraid of Prince Nalan; he was very aware of the consequences if this matter were exposed. Even if Prince Nalan didn’t come after him, he wouldn’t have the face to confront Prince Nalan himself.

”Success in war bleaches the bones of myriad soldiers!” Helian Qingfeng patted Nalan Tianyu’s shoulder, saying solemnly, ”You will be the leader of the Nalan Family in the future. Being soft-hearted and lenient won’t accomplish great things!”

Nalan Tianyu gave Helian Qingfeng a glance. This figure from the Meng District handled things so cleanly, decisively, and ruthlessly. On this point alone, he couldn’t measure up, which caused Nalan Tianyu to suddenly feel a sense of helplessness.

After a moment of silence, Nalan Tianyu gritted his teeth and nodded sharply, saying in a low voice, ”Alright, then we’ll take them out. But, how do we do it? Should we kill those two cops as well?”

”No need!” Helian Qingfeng replied solemnly, ”I’ve already found the best candidate. With him in action, this matter will be much easier!”

”Oh?” Nalan Tianyu was surprised and asked, ”Who did you find?”

Helian Qingfeng gave a faint smile, but didn’t answer Nalan Tianyu’s question. He simply took out his mobile phone, dialed a number, and softly said to the person on the other end, ”You can start the operation now!”

”Who are you calling?” Nalan Tianyu was even more astonished.

Helian Qingfeng pointed to a few people at the alley entrance, whispering, ”You’ll know soon enough, just stay and watch!”

Nalan Tianyu didn’t know what Helian Qingfeng was up to, but he still turned his head to look. Across the way, a few people were waiting for the police car, feeling quite happy now, as they’d done such a big thing for Nalan Tianyu, surely a reward awaited them later.

About five minutes passed before a shadow suddenly emerged from the alley. Nalan Tianyu’s face immediately changed because that shadow moved swiftly like a specter, quickly reaching the alley entrance.

The few people at the alley entrance were chatting and laughing, completely unaware of the person behind them. The shadow reached the last person’s back, suddenly covering his mouth and slicing his throat with a dagger.

This person didn’t even get a chance to struggle, his body trembled a few times, then slowly collapsed to the ground without making a sound. The people in front hadn’t noticed the disturbance behind them, still engrossed in conversation.

The shadow finished off one person, then stepped forward, where two people stood side by side. However, the shadow moved quickly, delivering a punch to the back of one person’s head while simultaneously covering another person’s mouth.

The one struck by the shadow was knocked unconscious, slowly falling to the ground. The people in front were laughing, completely oblivious to the slight commotion behind them. The one with his mouth covered by the shadow then had his throat slit with a dagger, following in the footsteps of the previous person.

After killing this person, the shadow also finished off the one he’d knocked unconscious. Now, only three men and that woman remained, as the shadow, having come over in this brief time, already killed three people.

In the car, Nalan Tianyu stared dumbfoundedly at everything unfolding before him; it was all happening too quickly. The shadow’s speed and actions were extremely professional, clearly the type of a professional hitman!

”Who...who is that exactly?” Nalan Tianyu exclaimed.

”Netherworld Scholar!” Helian Qingfeng replied solemnly.

”Netherworld Scholar?” Nalan Tianyu frowned slightly, then suddenly exclaimed, ”Isn’t he part of Sha Men? Among the Seven Hidden in Sha Men, I think there’s one called Netherworld Scholar!”

”That’s right, it’s him!” Helian Qingfeng replied solemnly.

”To kill these few people, you even brought such a heavyweight assassin?” Nalan Tianyu glanced at Helian Qingfeng and said, ”Besides, I’ve heard Sha Men has a good relationship with Ye Qing. Bringing such a person to deal with Ye Qing, isn’t that asking for trouble? If he exposes this matter, we’ll both be in trouble!”

”Don’t worry, he hates Ye Qing even more than we do!” Helian Qingfeng replied solemnly, ”Netherworld Scholar was once an extremely handsome and vain person, but Ye Qing ruined his face. His greatest wish is to kill Ye Qing for revenge. He knows our target is Ye Qing and is willing to join in without asking for a penny. He will definitely not disclose our affair!”
