Urban Martial Saint

Huangfu Ziyu was exceptionally intelligent and knowledgeable. Anyone who saw her would think she was a top graduate from a prestigious university. Who would have thought she never even attended elementary school?

”When it was time for me to go to elementary school, my family was gone, so how could I go to school?” said Huangfu Ziyu.

”Then... then you know a lot of words?” asked Ye Qingqi.

”Nonsense, if I didn’t know words, wouldn’t I be illiterate?” Huangfu Ziyu said, ”I completed all the courses after elementary school through correspondence self-study. However, I didn’t waste time and even earned a bachelor’s degree through self-study!”

Ye Qing couldn’t help but smile. Huangfu Ziyu truly was a prodigy. Entering Dongzhou at thirteen, quietly taking lives, and step by step becoming the ruler of the underground forces there, her life must not have been easy. Who would have thought that amidst such a life, she still found time to study and earn a bachelor’s degree, truly deserving the title of a prodigy!

The library at Northern University was incredibly well-stocked, and many books that have become rare outside could still be found here. Liu Mubai found a book he had long wanted to find here, but such books were not allowed to be taken out, and could only be read there. So, Liu Mubai didn’t leave with Ye Qing and Huangfu Ziyu; instead, he stayed in the library intending to finish the book before leaving.

There was a banquet to attend in the evening, so Ye Qing didn’t wander far and took Huangfu Ziyu for a walk around Northern University. Actually, Ye Qing was only familiar with the area around Northern University. He wasn’t familiar with any other places, even though he studied here for four years, he only frequented Northern University and the surrounding areas, and never visited other places.

After strolling around for more than an hour, Ye Qing suddenly remembered that Su Nuoyan’s brother Su Kaicheng lived here in the Capital. According to Liu Changping, Su Kaicheng’s father was a high-ranking official here in the Capital. It seemed that the Su Family was no ordinary family in the Capital.

Su Kaicheng was very crucial to Ye Qing now. After all, whether Ye Qing’s orphanage could continue to operate depended entirely on Su Kaicheng. Thinking of Su Kaicheng, Ye Qing decided to visit him since he was in the Capital, as Su Kaicheng was connected to the orphanage’s matter.

After discussing with Huangfu Ziyu, Huangfu Ziyu also supported Ye Qing reaching out to Su Kaicheng. After all, there was nothing more exciting outside Northern University, and visiting a friend was a good idea.

With Huangfu Ziyu’s support, Ye Qing didn’t delay at all and called Su Kaicheng. It so happened that Su Kaicheng was in the Capital and, after receiving Ye Qing’s call, hurried to the gate of Northern University, picked up Ye Qing and Huangfu Ziyu, and found a nearby café to sit down.

”Ye brother, when did you arrive in the Capital? You should have told me earlier so I could arrange something for you,” Su Kaicheng now had a favorable attitude towards Ye Qing because he learned more about Ye Qing’s orphanage and knew that Ye Qing genuinely cared for those children. Thus, his attitude changed significantly.

”I just happened to pass by and didn’t want to trouble Elder Brother Su,” Ye Qing smiled faintly and said, ”I just had some free time, so I thought to call you, hoping I’m not interrupting your work.”

”No, I’ve taken a few days off recently, so I’m relatively free,” Su Kaicheng smiled at Ye Qing, but Ye Qing could see that Su Kaicheng’s brow was furrowed. It was clear that Su Kaicheng had something on his mind.

With Su Kaicheng’s status and position, what could be troubling him?

”Elder Brother Su, do you have something on your mind?” Ye Qing asked.

”Nothing much,” Su Kaicheng waved his hand and smiled. ”By the way, how are you preparing the matters for your orphanage? The inspection team from the Capital was originally scheduled to go over sometime ago, but they were delayed. They should be there in a few days. Be prepared, once the inspection passes, your proposal can be approved, and your orphanage will receive official backing!”

Hearing this, Ye Qing couldn’t contain his excitement and quickly nodded, ”Of course! Of course! I’ve arranged everything, and the orphanage is ready for the inspection team anytime.”

”That’s good!” Su Kaicheng nodded, glanced at Huangfu Ziyu beside Ye Qing, and was slightly taken aback. Huangfu Ziyu’s beauty undoubtedly left him shocked. However, what surprised him more was when did such a beauty appear by Ye Qing’s side? Judging by the intimate atmosphere between them, could they be in a relationship?

Su Kaicheng couldn’t help but think of his sister Su Nuoyan. He could tell that Su Nuoyan had good feelings for Ye Qing. But now, this situation might be a blow for Su Nuoyan.

Su Kaicheng sighed. He couldn’t meddle in other people’s feelings — such matters had to be resolved by those involved. Moreover, his own family’s affairs were not yet settled, leaving him no time to worry about others.

Seeing Su Kaicheng in such a state, Ye Qing was even more surprised. He clearly sensed that Su Kaicheng had something weighing on his mind. However, since Su Kaicheng was unwilling to share, Ye Qing couldn’t pry further. After all, there must be a reason for someone not to speak up.

As the three were casually chatting about the orphanage issues, Su Kaicheng’s phone suddenly rang. As soon as he picked it up, his expression immediately changed as he urgently spoke, ”How could this happen? Wasn’t she fine when I left? What do you mean blood is pressing on the nerves? With so many expert doctors around, what are they doing? How can blood be pressing on the nerves? I don’t care about anything else; that’s my sister. No matter what, she must live. Okay, I’m leaving now!”

After hanging up, Su Kaicheng awkwardly said to Ye Qing, ”Ye brother, I’m sorry, there’s something at home, and I need to go back. How about this, I’ll treat you to dinner either tonight or tomorrow?”

”That’s not necessary,” Ye Qing stood up and said, ”Elder Brother Su, I just heard you mention your sister is ill?”

Su Kaicheng sighed and said, ”Ah, it’s a long story. Anyway, her condition is very critical now, so I must go back and see her. I apologize!”

”How about we go with you?” Ye Qing suggested, ”It’s just as well, I know a bit of medical skills, and perhaps I can help a little.”

”Uh?” Su Kaicheng was stunned, staring at Ye Qing in surprise. ”You... you know medicine?”

In fact, Ye Qing didn’t know much about medicine; he just loved to read the ”Acupoint Seeking Technique”. However, who left that ”Acupoint Seeking Technique”? It was a miraculous book left by the Divine Doctor An Shiping, containing many remedies for various diseases. Moreover, Ye Qing had the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill he obtained from the Shen Family Manor, which is a Holy Medicine capable of healing injuries. With the ”Acupoint Seeking Technique” and the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill, Ye Qing was far more capable than the average doctor.

”Specialized in curing various complicated diseases,” Ye Qing said with a smile.

Su Kaicheng scratched his head, seemingly contemplating something. After a long silence, he nodded vigorously, ”Alright, you guys come with me. However, be careful, there are places you shouldn’t roam and people you shouldn’t approach. Stay close to me!”

Ye Qing knew that Su Kaicheng said this for his own good. After all, with Su Kaicheng’s father being a high-ranking official, the location where his daughter stayed must be full of important personnel and bodyguards. Going there, one couldn’t simply wander off or approach anyone freely, because you might unknowingly approach someone being a significant leader, which could lead to major trouble.

Ye Qing nodded, holding onto Huangfu Ziyu, followed Su Kaicheng, and left in the car. However, instead of heading toward the city center, Su Kaicheng drove directly to the suburbs.

While on the road, Ye Qing finally learned what happened. It turned out that Su Kaixin, Su Kaicheng’s sister, was hit by a car from a street racing gang in the Capital. And her situation was particularly unique; while her other body parts weren’t severely injured, her head hit the concrete ground, causing blood clots to press against the nerves in her brain, which posed a very serious risk.

Brain specialists in the Capital gathered for a consultation, but they all concluded that the clots could not be removed. This was because the clots weren’t merely suppressing the brain nerves, but instead enveloped them, being extremely close to the brain. If surgery were performed, the mortality rate would be nearly one hundred percent. Therefore, they had to adopt a conservative treatment. But with the clots pressing on the brain nerves, even the best outcome would be her becoming a vegetative state. During this time, Su Kaixin was bedridden, yet to regain consciousness.

Su Kaicheng took leave to return this time precisely because of his sister Su Kaixin’s situation. He had just received Ye Qing’s call and took the opportunity to meet with him. Unexpectedly, during the short time he was away, Su Kaixin’s condition deteriorated, and the doctors had already issued a critical condition notice. The Su family gathered at the hospital, discussing whether to carry out euthanasia on Su Kaixin since she was suffering immensely in her current state.

Su Kaicheng was naturally unwilling to let his sister be euthanized, as she was his only sister. As soon as he received the call, he needed to rush back immediately. As for taking Ye Qing, he was simply left with no other options, holding onto a glimmer of hope, hoping to try anything. The doctors in the Capital were helpless, unable to save Su Kaixin. Now, he felt akin to a drowning man, reaching out for even a blade of grass, refusing to let go.

Though Ye Qing seemed not to be skilled in medicine, he was still keen to let Ye Qing try, in case he might actually save Su Kaixin. If he didn’t try, he knew he’d never find peace in his lifetime.
