Urban Martial Saint

Gao Shibao’s current situation is actually the same as that of many young people trying to make it in the Capital. They came in full of enthusiasm at first, but ended up being beaten by reality to the point where they lost all confidence. They want to break free, but many entanglements make it difficult to extricate themselves, so they can only muddle through like this, struggling for a lifetime for the sake of survival.

Hearing Gao Shibao say this, Ye Qing knew he couldn’t change his mind, so he stopped trying to persuade him. He simply patted his shoulder and said, ”If you want to continue working here, that’s fine. How about this, I’ll introduce a friend to you tomorrow.”

”A friend? What friend?” Gao Shibao asked curiously.

Ye Qing smiled faintly and said mysteriously, ”You’ll find out when we meet tomorrow.”

”Oh?” Gao Shibao was even more surprised, but since Ye Qing didn’t want to say, he didn’t press further.

In fact, Ye Qing wanted to introduce Gao Shibao to Su Kaicheng. Ye Qing wanted to help Gao Shibao, after all, during their university days, Gao Shibao had helped him a lot. Moreover, he was his best friend from university, and he would help him no matter what. Since Gao Shibao was unwilling to leave the Capital, Ye Qing could only use his connections there to help him.

The Su Family is among the largest families in the Capital. By introducing Gao Shibao to Su Kaicheng, Ye Qing was essentially paving the way for him. After all, Ye Qing had done the Su Family a big favor, and the Su Family people were very grateful to him. At this time, introducing Gao Shibao to Su Kaicheng was sure to capture Su Kaicheng’s attention. At the very least, with someone to back him in the Capital, Gao Shibao would have support behind him.

With the backing of the Su Family, Gao Shibao could save at least ten years of struggle. Given the Su Family’s stature in the Capital, helping him would be as easy as lifting a finger!

While Ye Qing and Gao Shibao were having a casual chat, a few people not far behind were quietly watching them. Leading these people were Helian Qingfeng and Nalan Tianyu.

Both of them had suffered greatly at Ye Qing’s hands and harbored deep resentment towards him. Now gathered together, they were looking for an opportunity to deal with Ye Qing.

They had actually been tailing Ye Qing all day; however, they were unaware of what happened inside the hospital, as they couldn’t get in there. They followed him to this place at night, trying to find a chance to strike at Ye Qing.

”Seems like he has a good relationship with that classmate!” a person beside Helian Qingfeng whispered, ”How about we capture his classmate to threaten him?”

”No way!” Nalan Tianyu shook his head decisively, saying in a deep voice, ”His classmate doesn’t know martial arts; we cannot touch him, otherwise there’ll be trouble!”

”What trouble could there be?” Helian Qingfeng’s subordinate said disdainfully, ”Even if we capture him, I don’t believe there are any martial artists who dare oppose us!”

Nalan Tianyu gave him a look and, frowning, said, ”This kind of thing, you can do elsewhere, and I wouldn’t care. But not in the Capital.”

”Why not?” Helian Qingfeng asked curiously.

”Because this is my grandfather’s territory!” Nalan Tianyu said seriously, ”My grandfather has an agreement with some big figures in the Capital: if any martial artist bullies ordinary people here, the Nalan Family must handle it. If necessary, my grandfather would even have to take action himself. Previously, when the Black River Three Blade accidentally injured an ordinary person while doing things here, my grandfather personally captured him. If you target an ordinary person, my grandfather won’t spare you!”

Helian Qingfeng frowned and asked, ”Why did your grandfather make such an agreement?”

”The bigger you are, the more attention you attract!” Nalan Tianyu explained, ”My grandfather’s name is too prominent. In the Capital, many big figures fear that the Nalan Family would bully ordinary people and considered expelling us from the Capital. To protect the Nalan Family, my grandfather had to make this agreement!”

”I see!” Helian Qingfeng nodded slowly. He hadn’t expected such a situation. The Capital is indeed different from the Meng District. You see, his father Helian Tiehua in Meng District is absolutely authoritative and doesn’t have to give face to anyone. But Prince Nalan of the Capital, despite his power, has many restrictions, which made Helian Qingfeng feel a bit scornful towards him.

”In that case, we still have to proceed according to plan!” Helian Qingfeng said, frowning, ”Are those people ready?”

”They’ve been ready for a long time!” Nalan Tianyu replied solemnly, ”Now we just have to see which route he takes, and he’ll have no escape once he goes through.”

”Very good!” Helian Qingfeng nodded, saying, ”Young Master Tianyu, this is your territory in the Capital, are you sure you can handle him?”

”Absolutely no problem!” Nalan Tianyu sneered, ”Unless he’s bold enough to attack the police, he’s absolutely not getting away this time!”

Helian Qingfeng’s lips curled into a sneer as he looked at Ye Qing with a face full of expectation. He knew that together with Nalan Tianyu, they were no match for Ye Qing, so this time he planned to play dirty, determined to deal with Ye Qing before Helian Tiehua entered the Capital.

Ye Qing and Gao Shibao didn’t chat for long, as it was getting late. After bidding farewell to Gao Shibao, Ye Qing walked along another small path, intending to get to the main road and catch a ride to the hospital to pick up Huangfu Ziyu.

Unexpectedly, before he reached the main road, he suddenly heard a woman’s voice shouting for help in the distance. Ye Qing frowned and immediately ran toward the direction the voice was coming from. Entering a nearby alleyway, he rounded a corner and saw five or six men surrounding a woman. Her clothes were mostly torn off, and the men were attempting to molest her.

Seeing the situation, Ye Qing’s expression instantly turned cold. So many people were brazenly acting like hooligans in the street? This was outrageous!

”What do you think you’re doing!” Ye Qing shouted loudly, rushing over and grabbing the neck of the man on the outer edge, throwing him far away.

The man cried out, and the others quickly jumped at Ye Qing without saying a word. However, given their capabilities, they were no match for Ye Qing, who swiftly and decisively knocked them all to the ground.

After dealing with these men, Ye Qing walked over to the girl and asked, ”Miss, are you alright?”

The girl struggled to get up from the ground, her face covered in tears, trembling and unable to speak. Seeing her like this, Ye Qing realized it was due to excessive shock and was about to say a few words to comfort her when the sound of police sirens suddenly came from afar.

Ye Qing was stunned. He hadn’t even called the police, so how had they arrived? Could someone else have reported it?

As he was perplexed, the police car already stopped at the alley entrance, and seven or eight armed policemen rushed in and surrounded everyone.

”What’s going on? What happened?” the leading officer looked at the people knocked down on the ground and asked with a frown, ”What exactly happened?”

Ye Qing stepped forward and said, ”Officer, hello, these men...”

Before Ye Qing could finish his sentence, the girl suddenly pointed at him and screamed, ”He... he tried to assault me...”

”What?” Several officers immediately turned to look at Ye Qing, and the officer’s expression changed, glaring angrily at Ye Qing.

Ye Qing’s expression also changed. He turned and looked at the girl in shock, saying, ”Miss, you’ve got it wrong. It wasn’t me who tried to assault you; it was these men who tried to do so. I saved you!”

”I’m not wrong, it was you who tried to assault me!” The girl pointed at Ye Qing, shouting hoarsely, ”You followed me into this alley and then rushed up to molest me. They were the ones who saved me, I’m not mistaken!”

Ye Qing hadn’t expected that his attempt to save a life would result in a false accusation. He frowned and said in a deep voice, ”Officer, this young lady must be out of sorts due to shock and hasn’t realized what’s going on. I did not try to molest her; it was these six men who did, and I saved her!”

”Is that so?” There was clear doubt in the officer’s eyes, implying disbelief in Ye Qing’s words.

”Officer, don’t listen to his nonsense!” The girl glared and said, ”These six men were helping me, and they’re all my relatives. How could they try to assault me? This one’s my cousin, that one’s my cousin, they’re all my relatives. Do you think they would do anything to me?”

Hearing this, Ye Qing’s expression instantly changed. He suddenly realized that he had fallen into a trap.

”So, it really was you!” The officer’s expression turned fierce, glaring angrily at Ye Qing and asking sternly, ”Do you have anything else to say for yourself?”

Ye Qing looked coldly at the girl and said in a deep voice, ”I have nothing to say. I know in my heart what I’ve done. Miss, you should remember that telling lies comes at a cost!”

”Are you trying to intimidate me?” The girl said angrily, ”With so many officers here, do you really dare to intimidate me? Officers, don’t let him go. People like him should just be executed!”

The officers who came over all looked at Ye Qing coldly, and the leading officer straightforwardly gestured for handcuffs, saying, ”Cuff him! Threatening the victim is unacceptable, take him away now!”

The officers immediately moved in, taking out handcuffs to arrest Ye Qing. In actuality, given the officers present, it was impossible for them to stop Ye Qing if he resisted. However, since they were officers trying to handcuff him, Ye Qing didn’t resist. Resisting would mean committing the serious crime of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest, and Ye Qing wouldn’t make such a mistake.

Nonetheless, during the conversation, Ye Qing had already quietly sent a text to Su Kaicheng since he had realized this was a trap specifically set up to target him, and he needed Su Kaicheng’s help to resolve this matter.
