Urban Martial Saint

When Nalan Tianyu and Helian Qingfeng were having a conversation, the Netherworld Scholar had already taken down another person. However, the remaining few were finally alerted.

Seeing the four people lying in a pool of blood on the ground behind them, the other people all turned pale, and the two police officers were the first to come to their senses, turning and pointing at the Netherworld Scholar with a loud shout: ”Don’t move!”

These two police officers thought the Netherworld Scholar was just an ordinary person and believed their identity would intimidate him. Little did they know, their policeman’s identity meant nothing in the eyes of the Netherworld Scholar.

Seeing he had alerted the crowd, the Netherworld Scholar didn’t hesitate for a moment, rushing to the two police officers in a swift step. The dagger in his hand quickly slashed across their throats, and these two officers hadn’t even reacted before they fell into the pool of blood.

The remaining two men and one woman saw the situation; the woman screamed in terror, completely forgetful of fleeing. The two men reacted quickly, knowing they were definitely no match for the Netherworld Scholar, they turned and immediately wanted to escape. However, how could the Netherworld Scholar let them leave? He swiftly chased them down and resolved them without any effort.

The last woman was completely petrified, watching in a daze as the Netherworld Scholar walked up to her, staring blankly as he plunged the dagger into her heart. Until the moment she fell to the ground, she was still dumbstruck, not reacting to what had happened at all. Until her death, she still didn’t know why she died like this!

After killing these few people, the Netherworld Scholar directly turned and walked into the alley behind, without lingering for a moment.

Seeing the clean and swift methods of the Netherworld Scholar, Nalan Tianyu couldn’t help but exclaim: ”Indeed, a figure from the Killing Gate Seven Hidden, his methods are truly clean and swift!”

”With these people dead, no one will ever know it was us who did this!” Helian Qingfeng said solemnly, ”Now, we just have to deal with Ye Qing!”

”How do we deal with Ye Qing?” Nalan Tianyu looked at Helian Qingfeng and said, ”You’re not planning to let the Netherworld Scholar go and assassinate Ye Qing, are you? Although the Netherworld Scholar has good skills, I guess he’s probably not even a match for Ye Qing.”

”No guesswork needed, he’s definitely not a match for Ye Qing!” Helian Qingfeng said solemnly. ”However, to kill Ye Qing, we don’t necessarily need force; we can use other methods!”

”What other methods?” Nalan Tianyu asked curiously.

Helian Qingfeng replied, ”Ye Qing is now detained in the police station, his position is fixed. To kill him, only a bomb is needed!”

”A bomb?” Nalan Tianyu froze for a moment, then widened his eyes in shock, exclaiming, ”You plan to blow Ye Qing up? He’s in a police station right now; if you blow him up, are you going to destroy the police station as well?”

It was only then that Nalan Tianyu understood why Helian Qingfeng devised this scheme to frame Ye Qing. It turned out he wanted to keep Ye Qing in the police station, fixing Ye Qing in one place so he could use a bomb to blow him up. Otherwise, Ye Qing’s position wouldn’t be fixed, and there’d be no place to set the bomb.

Helian Qingfeng glanced at Nalan Tianyu, and rhetorically asked, ”Can’t we do it?”

”This...” Nalan Tianyu scratched his head and said, ”Isn’t this too crazy? This is the Capital; do you know what the charge is for bombing a police station? That’s an extremely severe crime!”

”So what!” Helian Qingfeng said coldly, ”When I was in the Meng District, which of my actions wasn’t an extremely severe crime? Who could do anything to me? Besides, for this matter, we don’t have to act personally. Now that these people are silenced, no one can trace it back to us, even if it’s an extremely severe crime, it has nothing to do with us, so why worry?”

”We don’t have to act personally?” Nalan Tianyu asked curiously, ”Then who do you plan to have do it?”

Helian Qingfeng gave a cold smile, nodding towards the alley. Nalan Tianyu looked over in surprise, was stunned for a moment, then suddenly realized and said, ”You plan to have the Netherworld Scholar do this?”

”He’s the most suitable candidate!” Helian Qingfeng said, ”In this world, no one wants to kill Ye Qing more than he does. I’ve arranged everything; he definitely won’t let Ye Qing walk out of that police station alive!”

Nalan Tianyu’s face changed slightly, though the action was taken by the Netherworld Scholar, he still felt a bit worried inside.

Helian Qingfeng noticed the worry in his heart, patted his shoulder, and said, ”Nalan, to accomplish great things, one must be ruthless and decisive. As Cao Cao aptly said, ’I would rather betray the world than let the world betray me.’ You will be the head of the Nalan Family in the future, and you’ll have to make many decisions like this. Kindness and softness will never lead a great family!”

Helian Qingfeng’s words struck a chord with Nalan Tianyu, who furrowed his brows, slowly nodded, and said in a deep voice, ”You’re right. To accomplish great things, it should be that way. Hmph, let this Ye Qing be a commemoration on my path to growth!”

Nalan Tianyu’s expression was solemn, as if he had made a significant decision. Meanwhile, a flicker of subtle mockery flashed in Helian Qingfeng’s eyes. To be honest, Helian Qingfeng didn’t regard Nalan Tianyu highly because he despised Nalan Tianyu’s character. How could such a person lead the Nalan Family? If he ever led the Nalan Family, then the Nalan Family in the Capital would pose no threat to the General of Meng District!

On the other side, Ye Qing was taken to the police station, and was directly escorted into the interrogation room to begin the questioning. Of course, Ye Qing truthfully recounted the situation to the police. However, they refused to believe him, resorting to threats and inducements to make him confess, convinced that Ye Qing was trying to lie his way out of it.

In fact, the police knew as well that even if Ye Qing didn’t confess, the testimony of so many witnesses against him would be hard to escape. Therefore, they were convinced of Ye Qing’s guilt and, finding no results in the interrogation, left Ye Qing in the interrogation room to wait. They said they were giving Ye Qing time to reflect, but in reality, they were trying to apply psychological pressure. At the same time, they were waiting for the witnesses to return, which would make it easier to solve the case.

However, before the witnesses returned, they received a call from the city bureau chief ordering them to release Ye Qing unconditionally.

The officers didn’t know what had happened, and the captain in charge wanted to explain Ye Qing’s situation to the chief. But the chief wouldn’t listen, simply ordering him to release Ye Qing immediately.

The captain was astonished, as it was unprecedented and against protocol for the chief to order Ye Qing’s release without listening to the case. However, he didn’t dare to oppose the chief. After all, Ye Qing wasn’t accused of anything major, at most attempted crime, which would only lead to detention for a while. But if he went against the chief for such a matter, he might as well kiss his captain’s position goodbye.

After the call, the captain wasted no time ordering Ye Qing’s release.

Meanwhile, Ye Qing was still sitting in the interrogation room, not worried. He had already texted Su Kaicheng, confident that he would resolve the issue.

He didn’t expect Su Kaicheng to resolve the matter so swiftly. As Ye Qing was brought out of the interrogation room, the captain was at the door, personally seeing him off. The captain wasn’t stupid; he understood anyone who could prompt the chief’s personal call for release had to have a significant background, certainly someone beyond his ability to offend. Thus, as the captain escorted Ye Qing out of the police station, he apologized several times, personally walking Ye Qing to the door.

Ye Qing remained calm, as the captain was just following protocol. He was more concerned about why those people framed him and felt the matter wouldn’t be that simple.

However, as they reached the door, the captain received a call, and after hearing a few words, his face changed dramatically. He urgently asked, ”What happened? They’re all dead? Weren’t they fine just now? How did they die? Hold on, I’ll send someone over right away!”

After speaking, the captain turned and dashed back, with Ye Qing quickly following, urgently asking, ”What happened?”

”Those six men and that woman were all killed!” The captain paused, then continued solemnly, ”Including the two officers I left there, all were killed. The vehicle I sent to pick them up had just arrived and found their bodies!”

”All dead?” Ye Qing frowned deeply, realizing the severity of the situation exceeded his expectations. Those seven were originally intended to frame him. With their murder, Ye Qing first thought someone intended to silence them.

However, regardless of who wanted them silenced, this matter was extremely serious. Using seven lives to target Ye Qing, the other party was indeed making a substantial move. In such a case, their aim couldn’t simply be to lock Ye Qing in the police station, could it? They must have some other purpose!

”Yes, all dead!” The captain was anxiously pacing. If such a huge case couldn’t be solved, he too would be held accountable.

”Mr. Ye, this matter has nothing to do with you, please go home first.” Even at such a moment, the captain did not forget to reassure Ye Qing: ”I will now take people to the scene to investigate and see what’s going on. Rest assured, everyone in the bureau can confirm you weren’t present!”

”That’s not the point!” Ye Qing responded sternly, ”Wait a moment, don’t rush to send people over yet!”

”Oh?” The captain was surprised and asked, ”Why?”

”The other party killed so many people, it couldn’t just be to frame me!” Ye Qing spoke in a serious tone, ”I suspect their real target is me, and the real move they want to make is right here in this police station!”
