Urban Martial Saint

”Ah?” Aomuhan immediately jumped up from the sofa, his eyes wide with disbelief, ”Third Brother, you... you... are you really going to take this risk?”

Chen Si was somewhat excited, but also worried, and for a moment didn’t know what to say.

Chen San glanced at Aomuhan and said in a deep voice, ”Since I’ve already made a pact with Ye Qing, I must rescue him. Although the Chen Family is now left with only the two of us siblings, the word of the Chen Family is absolute. If it comes down to it, I’m prepared to fight Wang Tian’an head-on. I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time!”

These words from Chen San also stirred excitement in Chen Si, who said, ”Brother, let’s give it our all in the fight against Wang Tian’an!”

”This... this... isn’t this all too sudden...” Aomuhan couldn’t quite come to terms with it, saying, ”We’re not even prepared yet, wouldn’t starting a fight right away be a bit hasty? The brothers aren’t ready, can we delay it a bit?”

”Ready? Is that what you call starting a war?” Chen San replied coldly, ”Twenty years ago, when the Chen Family was betrayed by those household slaves, we weren’t ready either. Didn’t they annihilate our Chen Family just the same? Murder doesn’t require preparation, only a heart intent on killing is enough!”

Seeing the cold look in Chen San’s eyes, Aomuhan dared not say anything more. The anger Chen San expressed a few days ago had already scared him substantially. At that moment, all he could do was pray in his heart that Ye Qing had already been killed, so he wouldn’t have to see Chen San and Chen Si hold Ye Qing in such high regard again.

Chen Si didn’t hesitate to go out and gather people. Chen San, on the other hand, didn’t follow but became even calmer. Standing by the window with his hands behind his back, he quietly looked at the crescent moon outside.

The events of twenty years ago were still vivid in his mind. On that night, the moon was as incomplete as tonight, becoming an eternal memory in Chen San’s heart. However, that night, Chen San was just a defenseless child. Tonight, he was no longer that child, but had become the renowned White Horse of Eastern Shandong. It was time to repay the blood debt of twenty years!

It took less than half an hour for Chen Si to gather the troops. Wang Tian’an’s side mainly called in martial experts, so Chen Si didn’t bring anyone who didn’t know martial arts.

”Brother, we can set off at any time now!” Chen Si looked at Chen San with excitement, ”According to the information, Wang Tian’an took almost one hundred people with him. In terms of numbers, we’re not far behind them. If we really come to blows tonight, we might just be evenly matched!”

”Very good!” Chen San nodded approvingly and said in a firm voice, ”Have everyone wear the masks and clothes specially made by our Master to guard against Wang Tian’an’s poison.”

Wang Tian’an had poisoned quite a few people on several occasions, and Chen San had taken precautions against him. Great General Helian Tiehua had specially commissioned some masks and clothing that could protect against Wang Tian’an’s poison, which was crucial for the people on Chen Family’s side.

”Everyone’s got them on!” Chen Si replied. After suffering a severe loss at the hands of Sha Men and the Xihang Shen Family, she took special care with this matter. When she went out to call for people just a moment ago, she made sure to instruct them to fully equip the masks and clothing, ready for anything.

Chen San nodded, turned around, and walked out with Chen Si, taking big strides. When they reached the door, he suddenly stopped and turned to look at Aomuhan.

”I got it, I got it, I won’t run off,” Aomuhan quickly said: ”Third Brother, rest assured. With all of you gone, if anything happens, I’ll definitely alert you immediately. Although I wish that Ye with the surname would die soon, I definitely have to consider your well-being!”

Only then did Chen San feel at ease and left the room with Chen Si. Outside, more than a dozen cars were waiting. With one call from Chen San, the cars lined up in a row and drove out of the courtyard to chase down Wang Tian’an’s men.

Meanwhile, in the city, Zhao Chengshuang and Li Lianshan were also anxiously waiting. Unlike Chen San’s side, they didn’t have Chen San’s kind of information, so they were completely unaware of Wang Tian’an’s recent moves.

”Chengshuang, why don’t we just do as I say!” Li Lianshan looked at Zhao Chengshuang and said, ”We could just rush into Wang Tian’an’s territory and search it thoroughly. If Ye Zi is really there, that would be kidnapping, and you’d have every reason to arrest them!”

Zhao Chengshuang rolled his eyes and said, ”Old Li, I’ve told you several times, Wang Tian’an has his own backers. Forget about me not having the power to arrest him, I couldn’t even approach his area without the police department forbidding it. These people have connections that reach into the heavens, even in the Capital. I’m just a deputy director of a small sub-bureau, what can I do to him? Besides, even if I could bring a team over there, I reckon that I might not even come out of there alive. My father told me not to get involved in this, these people have deep backgrounds.”

Li Lianshan widened his eyes and exclaimed, ”Damn, they’re just a bunch of darn household slaves, how much backing can they have?”

”This kind of thing, you wouldn’t understand even if I told you.” Zhao Chengshuang waved his hand and said, ”Let me put it this way, you know about the Xihang Shen Family, right?”

”I know, what about them?” Li Lianshan asked in surprise, not understanding why Zhao Chengshuang suddenly brought up the Xihang Shen Family.

”The former family head of the Shen Family, who is now the grandfather of the current Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun, was a personal bodyguard for a founding hero of our Huaxia Country,” Zhao Chengshuang said. ”That bodyguard saved the founding hero’s life numerous times amidst a hail of bullets, so he has always been seen as the most trusted person by that family. To this day, the descendants of that founding hero hold great power in the Capital, and the Shen Family has been able to maintain its status today thanks to the protection of that family. Old Li, do you really think a martial arts family can be renowned all over the world? Without someone supporting them from behind, they’re nothing. Look at the Snake Form Gate, the Tiger Shape Sect; these sects were once not much different from the Southern Xingyi School. But they don’t have strong backers, and you see the difference now, don’t you? Although the Southern Xingyi School is only supported by the Ding Family, that’s enough for them here in Shenchuan City.”

Li Lianshan listened in bewilderment and after a moment of astonishment, said, ”But... what do these things have to do with what’s happening now?”

”I’m just explaining the situation to you,” Zhao Chengshuang said. ”I heard from my father that the Chen Family also had support back in the day. But the Chen Family has been exterminated for twenty years, why hasn’t the person behind them come out to take revenge for them? Think about this carefully, people like Wang Tian’an are living freely in the Western Province, even plotting so many things, don’t you get it? There must definitely be a powerful force supporting Wang Tian’an from behind. And this power is certainly not lesser than the one that was behind the Chen Family!”

Li Lianshan’s eyes widened suddenly and he exclaimed, ”No way, you’re kidding, right?”

Zhao Chengshuang shrugged his shoulders and said, ”I hope not too, but that’s the reality, and there’s nothing I can do about it. Not to mention, think about the murder cases twenty years ago that ended up as unsolved mysteries. Why? Because someone was manipulating from the shadows. That’s why when these martial artists fight, we turn a blind eye, treating it as if ghosts are fighting, as long as it doesn’t escalate and affect the public. Otherwise, whoever gets involved will end up as cannon fodder!”

Li Lianshan said indignantly, ”For the love of... you say this, but then what about us ordinary folks, don’t we have any say at all?”

”Come on, you’re an ordinary folk?” Zhao Chengshuang curled his lip and said, ”You’re living much more freely than ordinary people, but then again, when these martial artists fight, they don’t involve ordinary folks. They’ll settle their own matters internally without dragging outsiders into it.”

”How am I not an ordinary person?” Li Lianshan muttered, then said, ”But the crucial point now is, this matter has involved Ye Zi. Ye Zi has been kidnapped and his life is in danger at any moment, don’t you want to save him?”

”Damn it, how can I not want to save him when I have such a relationship with him?” Zhao Chengshuang retorted with wide eyes: ”But I need to have a way to do it. Old Li, don’t be impulsive, this kind of thing needs to be thought through carefully, being impulsive won’t solve anything!”

”It’s ****ing crunch time, how can I not be impulsive?” Li Lianshan retorted angrily: ”Bastard, if something happens to Ye Zi, I don’t care whether he’s a martial artist or not. Regardless of who’s backing the guy, I would still buy a bunch of bombs, run to Wang Tian’an’s hideout, and just blow us both up!”

Li Lianshan now considered Ye Qing as close as a real brother. With Ye Qing in danger, he was the most anxious one.

Zhao Chengshuang sighed, he too wanted to rescue Ye Qing. But as he had just said, he really had no means to do so. Now, all he could do was pin his hopes on Chen San. After all, Ye Qing had formed an alliance with Chen San, surely Chen San wouldn’t just sit idly by, would he?

Just as they were silent, suddenly a policeman ran in and said, ”Captain, someone is on the phone for you.”

”At this time, who is calling me?” Zhao Chengshuang widened his eyes and said, ”Don’t answer it!”

”Why not answer it?” Li Lianshan asked curiously: ”Could it be a call from Ye Zi?”

”Stop talking nonsense, wouldn’t Ye Zi know my number?” Zhao Chengshuang said: ”I’ve kept my personal phone on, just in case Ye Zi contacts me, and Ye Zi wouldn’t use another phone to reach me. At this critical time, I don’t have time to deal with other people’s trivial matters!”

”That makes sense.” Li Lianshan nodded, now Ye Qing’s situation was the most important thing, other things could be put aside.

However, the policeman did not leave and added: ”Captain, it’s not a phone call, it’s a signal received by the radio, do you want to listen to it?”
