Urban Martial Saint

At the entrance of the hall, a group of people with an aggressive aura stormed in. From their posture, it was clear they weren’t here to offer congratulations, but rather to start trouble.

”Move, move, move! Are you blind?” These people caused a ruckus, driving many out of the hall. Soon, only they and the people from Xingyi School remained inside.

Seeing this situation, many from the Xingyi School were angered. However, Tie Weihua still approached them with a smile, saying: ”I am Tie Weihua. Friends, may I know from which sect you all are masters? Today, the Xingyi School is rather busy, and if we have neglected to attend to you properly, please forgive us.”

Seeing Tie Weihua talking like this, Ye Qing nodded slowly and said with a smile to Du Tianyi: ”Senior Tie has really changed a lot!”

If it were the Tie Weihua of the past, he would definitely have already started fighting with these people. But this time, his ability to speak so calmly was beyond Ye Qing’s expectations.

”Senior Tie is actually not a bad person; it’s just that previously, under the prestige of our Master, he was somewhat too arrogant. After suffering a few setbacks, he gradually became more humble.” Du Tianyi said: ”To be honest, when Senior Tie was in charge of Xingyi School before, I was somewhat worried. But now, I am quite relieved with him in charge. Although Senior Tie’s strength hasn’t reached the level of our Master, he has become a very good leader. When people from both the South and North Xingyi Gate are together, he treats everyone equally, without favoring those from the Southern Xingyi School. This quality is essential for a leader!”

Ye Qing nodded. He had also noticed the changes in Tie Weihua, and hence his attitude towards him had changed a lot. If it were still the old Tie Weihua, Ye Qing wouldn’t have bothered with him at all.

In the hall, upon hearing Tie Weihua’s words, one of the men immediately said: ”Tie Weihua, are you the Sect Leader of Xingyi School?”

”All surnamed Tie, it can’t be wrong, he is definitely the Sect Leader of Xingyi School!”

”Then it’s perfect, let me first test the strength of this Sect Leader!” One man said and tried to rush forward, but was stopped by a young man in his twenties.

The young man’s expression was calm, but those around him looked at him with apprehension. It was clear that this young man was the leader of this group.

”Is the Southern Xingyi School changing its signboard today?” The young man slowly walked up to Tie Weihua and softly asked, ”What’s the matter? Can’t you uphold the legacy left by Tie Yongwen?”

”You’re talking nonsense!” A person standing next to Tie Weihua immediately shouted angrily: ”We have merged the South and North Xingyi Gate, hence it’s called just Xingyi School. The legacy left by our Master is still intact!”

The young man glanced at him, ignored him, and only looked at Tie Weihua, saying: ”It seems that after Tie Yongwen is no longer with us, Xingyi School has been going downhill day by day. I heard that you were totally spun around by someone named Ye Qing, which was embarrassing enough. To think, even the disciples of Xingyi School lack such respect for hierarchy. The Sect Leader hasn’t even spoken yet, and someone on the side is already talking nonsense!”

At this remark, a burst of laughter erupted around. Among these people, only a very small part came to congratulate, while most harbored other intentions. Seeing someone stand up to challenge the Xingyi School, they were naturally pleased to see the joke. Moreover, the laughter was quite loud, as they intended to deliberately provoke the people from Xingyi School to clash with this group.

The man from the Southern Xingyi School turned red with anger, about to curse out loud, but was stopped by Tie Weihua putting out a hand.

”Ninth Junior Brother, don’t be angry,” Tie Weihua patted his shoulder and turned to look at the young man, asking, ”May I ask for your name?”

The young man declared loudly: ”I am Hong Tianci, the heir of Da Hong Fist from Western Province!”

Upon hearing this, the people in the room burst into noise, and even Du Tianyi in the room next door furrowed his brows.

”Heir of Da Hong Fist?” Du Tianyi whispered: ”Why have these people also come here?”

”What happened?” Ye Qingqi asked, clueless about what Da Hong Fist was.

”Da Hong Fist is a boxing technique sect that spread in the South. Da Hong Fist is simplistic and practical, widely disseminated, and many other boxing techniques have been derived from it, such as Snake Form Gate, Tiger Shape Sect, Iron Wire Gate, and other sects, could be considered as branches of Da Hong Fist. Da Hong Fist was once hugely popular, with many masters emerging from the sect, and the descendants spread all over the Southern Six Provinces. However, it gradually declined, and sects all around disappeared, only Western Province still maintained the sect of Da Hong Fist. Normally, these people seldom have any involvement with outsiders, so why would they suddenly appear here?”

Ye Qing slightly frowned and turned his head towards Hong Tianci and his group. He could tell that those behind Hong Tianci were all martial artists. This meant that Hong Tianci came here with quite a few powerful individuals. This assembly was clearly here to cause trouble.

”Does the Xingyi School have any connection with Da Hong Fist?” Ye Qing asked.

”No, not at all!” Du Tianyi said, ”Da Hong Fist has declined for nearly a hundred years. In this century, their disciples have hardly any connections with the outside world. I’ve only heard about Da Hong Fist from my master in the past, and have never actually seen their people. How could there be a connection?”

Ye Qing said, ”So, these people are basically here to cause a scene today!”

”That’s also possible.” Du Tianyi nodded. The Southern Xingyi School in the Eastern Province is too famous, overshadowing many other sects. Therefore, people often challenge the Xingyi School, hoping to gain status by stepping on it. Perhaps, people from Da Hong Fist are also aiming to climb using the Xingyi School.

However, those who challenge usually pick a date and come on that specific day. But the people from Da Hong Fist, not only did they not give any notice, they also chose such a critical moment to come, which is somewhat hard to accept. This posture is not just about gaining status by using the Xingyi School; they fundamentally want to disgrace the Xingyi School in front of everyone and completely crush it. The intentions of these people from Da Hong Fist are quite sinister.

Most people present could see this, and Tie Weihua was also very clear in his heart. However, he still remained calm and smiled lightly, saying: ”So it’s the successors of Da Hong Fist, I’ve heard much about you. However, I wonder what brings Young Master Hong here today?”

Hong Tianci said, ”It’s nothing significant, just that I think you should take down the Xingyi School’s sign for now!”

”What did you say!” Someone next to Tie Weihua immediately roared in anger, and everyone else also glared at Hong Tianci. An act like demanding to take down the signboard is akin to slapping someone in public, and of course the people of Xingyi School were angered.

Tie Weihua was relatively calm, indifferently saying, ”Does our Xingyi School’s signboard impact Da Hong Fist?”

Hong Tianci arrogantly said, ”It bothers me; I wonder if that counts as an impact?”

”I’m fucking bothered by you! Should you kill yourself then?” Even the people from Northern Xingyi School got angry and shouted back loudly.

A wave of laughter erupted from the surrounding crowd, and people behind Hong Tianci also immediately started making a ruckus, and it looked as though a fight was about to break out.

Tie Weihua raised his hand, and his disciples from the Xingyi School gradually stopped talking, leaving only the people from Da Hong Fist still shouting. Tie Weihua didn’t speak either, simply quietly watching the disciples of Da Hong Fist. After swearing for a while, these people also felt it pointless and slowly shut up. Only then did Tie Weihua smile faintly at Hong Tianci, saying, ”Young Master Hong, it appears that the disciples of Da Hong Fist don’t quite understand the rules? How is it that Mr. Tie, as a Sect Leader, doesn’t even have the right to speak in front of everyone from Da Hong Fist?”

This remark by Tie Weihua cleverly threw back the earlier criticism from Hong Tianci, immediately turning Hong Tianci’s face beet-red with anger, as he sternly said, ”Cut the crap, did you hear what I just said? I find this signboard displeasing, so, better not hang it up today!”

Tie Weihua said, ”I heard what you said, but this signboard, we can’t just not hang it!”

”So you mean to say you still want to hang up this signboard?” Hong Tianci eyed Tie Weihua coldly, saying, ”Hmph, even Tie Yongwen, that old fart, is no longer here. What right does your Xingyi School even have to uphold this sign? Don’t you find it humiliating to hang up the signboard?”

Tie Weihua said, ”Whether we can uphold it or not, that’s our business. But the legacy left by my father, even if we can barely hold it up, we will try our utmost to do so. That’s our duty!”

”Sounds nice, but sadly reality is harsh!” Hong Tianci took a step back slowly and coldly said, ”The various major sects of the Southern Six Provinces had long-established rules. Any sect wishing to hang a sign must first withstand a test. Tie Weihua, if you were still hanging the Southern Xingyi School’s sign, I wouldn’t come to you. But now that you’ve changed the signboard, then we should see if you have the capability to uphold it!”

Unable to restrain himself, Da Fei who stood beside Ye Qing said, ”Bastard, he’s clearly here to pick a fight, and yet he speaks so righteously!”

Ye Qing glanced at Du Tianyi, and said helplessly, ”It seems, the signboard change today might not go as smoothly as you envisioned.”

”It’s you who thought it’d go smoothly, we didn’t think so,” Du Tianyi said, ”Southern Xingyi School has built up its reputation over so many years in the Eastern Province, and people have long wanted to step on us to boost their own fame. Especially after the master passed away, these kinds of incidents happen often. Hence, we already anticipated that the signboard changing today wouldn’t go smoothly. Without fighting a few bouts and showing these people the strength of our Xingyi School, don’t even think about hanging the signboard up!”

Ye Qing looked at the two sides standing on the brink of altercation in the hall and sighed, saying, ”You martial arts sects hanging a signboard is even more troublesome than the underworld wrestling for territory. In underworld fights, you just need a few fights to demonstrate your power. But all these rules in your case, it’s too troublesome.”
