Urban Martial Saint

”Immune to All Poisons!?” Ye Qing’s eyes widened in astonishment. Could such a capability truly exist at a certain threshold of power? How miraculous!

”I’ve heard the Sect Leader mention this matter as well,” Black Asura said. ”As long as the governor and conception vessels are unblocked and all meridians throughout the body are clear, any poison can easily be forced out of the body. Therefore, reaching that level of strength grants immunity to all poisons, rendering any toxicant ineffective against an individual!”

The others from Sha Men nodded repeatedly, indicating they were also familiar with this matter.

However, Ye Qing’s face was filled with shock, for this was the first time he had heard such a thing. It seemed that reaching a profound level in Neijia Kung Fu truly had its miraculous aspects.

Yet what Ye Qing didn’t know was that although his Neijia Kung Fu had not reached that realm, he himself was already immune to all poisons. With so much of the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill’s medicinal properties stored within his body, no poison could affect him!

”According to what you’re saying, there’s no cure for the Heart-devouring Bug?” Ye Qing couldn’t help but ask.

The people exchanged looks and all shook their heads. Seeing the expressions on the Sha Men members, those under Wang Tian’an’s command also fell into complete despair.

”Mr. Ye, please just kill us,” the first one said. ”We won’t blame you!”

Ye Qing looked at these people, and after finding out they were controlled by Wang Tian’an, he felt a surge of compassion, truly not wanting to kill them. However, if he let these people go, they would still have to return to Wang Tian’an and remain under his control, a dilemma that gave Ye Qing great pause.

As he hesitated, suddenly, one among the six shrieked miserably and leapt up from the spot as if his rear was on fire. Upon landing, he began to roll and scream on the ground, his face twisted in agony as he furiously scratched at his body, tearing flesh without stopping, looking as though he were about to die.

”The poison has flared up! The poison has flared up! The poison has flared up!” someone beside him shouted, trembling. Seeing this person’s condition, the other five were also shivering with fright, well aware of the excruciating pain that accompanied the Heart-devouring Bug’s outbreak.

”How could it suddenly flare up?” Ye Qingqi wondered aloud.

Cui Yu said in a grave voice, ”It might have been the heat just now that stimulated the Heart-devouring Bugs and woke them!”

Upon hearing this, the other five’s expressions instantly changed. If that was indeed the case, then wouldn’t their Heart-devouring Bugs activate at any moment?

”Kill me! Kill me! Kill me!” The man on the ground screamed while pleading, his voice almost begging. His demeanor showed unbearable suffering.

”Damn it!” Ghost King Li Ruoyuan’s face was filled with reluctance as he suddenly grabbed a knife and said, ”Don’t blame me for this!”

As the Ghost King Li Ruoyuan approached with the raised knife, there was no fear in the eyes of the man on the ground, only a look of relief seeming to anticipate release.

Just as the Ghost King Li Ruoyuan was about to deliver the strike, Ye Qing rushed forward, snatching the knife from Ghost King Li Ruoyuan’s hand, and sparing the man below from his grisly fate.

”Hey, Ye Zi, what are you doing?” Ghost King Li Ruoyuan’s eyes bulged, saying, ”Now’s not the time for mercy. Look at him; he’s suffering more alive than if he were dead. In my opinion, it’s kinder to kill him and let him out of his misery!”

”Indeed!” Cui Yu also nodded, saying, ”Ye brothers, I know you can’t bear it. But the Heart-devouring Bug is incurable, and it’s better to grant him release!”

The man on the ground continued to scream and roll, loudly begging, ”Kill me, please... I beg you, just kill me...”

The other five looked at Ye Qing, and one of them spoke with a trembling voice, ”Mr. Ye, please... just kill him, it’s truly unbearable...”

”No!” Ye Qing resolutely shook his head and said in a stern voice, ”The Heart-devouring Bug may not necessarily be incurable. Perhaps, I can try to help you get rid of it!”

As these words were spoken, everyone in the room turned to look at Ye Qing, with Cui Yu’s eyes widening as he said, ”Ye brothers, you... you... do you know what a Heart-devouring Bug is? There’s really no cure for this kind of Gu Insects!”

”Damn, Ye Zi, stop joking around. If you can cure the Heart-devouring Bug, then what does that make King Yan Ning Qianshu?” Ghost King Li Ruoyuan said, ”I’m not exaggerating, but even the Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun is totally helpless against it. Look at how powerful the Patriarch of the Chen Family used to be, and yet he still died to the Heart-devouring Bug. His organs were all devoured alive by the bug, and an autopsy showed that all that was left of him was skin and bones. The chance of you solving this Heart-devouring Bug issue is far more remote than me becoming the number one master in the martial arts world!”

Ye Qing ignored him and just looked at the man on the ground who was screaming in pain, and said solemnly, ”Mr. Cui, you just mentioned that the Heart-devouring Bug is a type of Gu Insect, correct?”

”Indeed, it is a type of Gu Insect,” Cui Yu nodded in response.

Ye Qing gave a nod, walked straight toward the man on the ground who was still screaming in agony, suddenly reached out to grab the man’s right arm, and firmly pinned him to the ground. At the same time, he extended his other hand to press several acupoints on the man’s chest and back, pumping his Inner Strength through his fingertips into the man’s acupoints, effectively sealing them off.

The onlookers were all watching Ye Qing with astonishment, unsure of his intentions. Yet strangely, as soon as Ye Qing pressed these points, the man who was screaming in pain gradually stopped, and fell into a deep sleep, no longer thrashing about.

All eyes widened in shock, especially the five subordinates of Wang Tian’an, whose eyeballs looked as if they would pop out.

The agony experienced during a Heart-devouring Bug’s attack was something they knew all too well. Once the bug flared up, death was a luxury they could not afford. They had tried to knock themselves unconscious against walls during an attack, in a desperate attempt to be freed from the pain. However, the intense pain inside their bodies was so severe that they had no chance of passing out, let alone falling asleep.

Now, after Ye Qing had pressed a few acupoints on the man, he actually fell into a deep sleep. Although it was unknown whether the Heart-devouring Bug inside him was still devouring his organs, at the very least, he had passed out and no longer had to suffer the pain, and this was what truly astounded everyone.

”Ye brothers, how... how did you do that?” Cui Yu couldn’t help asking with surprise, as the others also looked at Ye Qing with amazement, in anticipation of his response. After all, even a master like Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun couldn’t control the Heart-devouring Bug.

Ye Qing replied, ”I simply sealed his acupoints to slow down the flow of blood, consequently forcing the Heart-devouring Bug to continue its slumber, that’s all!”

Cui Yu was again astonished and asked, ”How... how do you know that if the blood flows slower, the Heart-devouring Bug will fall asleep?”

”I heard about such a thing from someone before,” Ye Qing casually replied, but in fact, he had not heard it from anyone but read it in the Acupoint Seeking Technique.

The Acupoint Seeking Technique, reportedly created from a lifetime of dedication by Divine Doctor An Shiping, is a miraculous book containing methods for cultivating Inner Strength as well as treatments for all kinds of diseases under the heavens. One part of the book even documents some methods to alleviate the pains caused by Gu Insects. However, it doesn’t contain specific cures; only methods to alleviate the symptoms of Gu Insects. The technique that Ye Qing had just used was exactly one found in the Acupoint Seeking Technique. Still, this was something he could not directly reveal to the members of Sha Men.

It must be said that the power of Gu Insects is truly terrifying; even a person like Divine Doctor An Shiping could only provide relief from the Gu’s torment. Keep in mind, Divine Doctor An Shiping is the disciple of both Sai Hua Tuo Baili Xi and King Yan Ning Qianshu—his medical skills are indeed peerless. Yet even he could not completely rid someone of the Gu Insects, no wonder the men from Sha Men concluded that the Heart-devouring Bug was incurable.

However, for Ye Qing, regardless of whether he could remove the Heart-devouring Bug or not, he still intended to try. After all, these were six lives at stake, and they were all coerced by Wang Tian’an; Ye Qing did not want them to die just like that.

Seeing that Ye Qing had knocked the man unconscious, the other five were naturally very excited, with one of them urgently saying, ”Mr. Ye, have you... have you heard about a way to remove the Heart-devouring Bug?”

”I do not know about this.” Ye Qing replied.

The five men’s faces were instantly filled with disappointment again. They had originally thought Ye Qing could save them, but this statement shattered their hopes completely.

”However, you don’t need to worry. Since I can alleviate the pain, you don’t have to return and be under Wang Tian’an’s control!” Ye Qing said, ”Once the drug within you really acts up, I can also help alleviate the pain temporarily. As for removing the Heart-devouring Bug, we can take our time to research, there’s no need to rush.”

These words reignited hope in the five men, and one of them earnestly said, ”Mr. Ye, if you can help us remove the Heart-devouring Bug, it would be like saving our lives. From now on, we will follow you and pledge our loyalty to you!”

The other few also nodded in agreement. Despite serving Wang Tian’an, their feelings towards him were mostly of resentment. Now that Ye Qing could help alleviate their pain from the Heart-devouring Bug, they could not wait to entrust their lives to him!

Ye Qing, however, didn’t consider so much. He waved his hand and said, ”Let’s not talk about future matters for now. The most important thing at the moment is to get rid of the Heart-devouring Bug within you. You all just follow me back to Shenchuan City for now, and I will slowly find a way to help you with the issue. Rest assured, with medical skills so advanced today, there’s definitely a way to resolve the Heart-devouring Bug. I have a friend who is the best doctor around, and I’ll get in touch with him to come and have a look at you!”
