Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing just muttered the words without much thought, knowing full well what kind of person Old Wang Ba is. That old guy is definitely much slipperier than any Xu Cunxiao-like figures. How could the police ever catch him? Despite being wanted in over a dozen provinces, he still roams from the south to the north, as dashing as ever. From this perspective, the old guy really does have some talent!

However, speaking of which, Ye Qing was also quite curious. Logically, although Old Wang Ba appears to be nothing more than a swindler on the surface, he certainly has real skills. How could someone with real talents end up in such a sorry state? Remember, when he last made a run for it from Shenchuan City, he managed to scrape together his escape funds by swindling several schoolchildren. There aren’t many people capable of being chased in over a dozen provinces for conning and deceiving everywhere. Could it be, this old guy is truly some sage who’s above this worldly life?

Thinking of Old Wang Ba’s behavior, Ye Qing immediately shook his head: No matter what, he couldn’t associate Old Wang Ba with the term ”sage”!

Just as Ye Qing was internally despising Old Wang Ba’s sleazy character, a call from Old Wang Ba came through.

”Young Ye, what are you up to?” Old Wang Ba’s voice boomed carelessly through the phone.

”Taking a dump!” Ye Qing replied irritably, as it was never good news whenever Old Wang Ba said this.

Old Wang Ba said, ”Stop bullshitting me. You live such a regulated life that even your poops are scheduled, and this ain’t the time for that!”

”I...” Ye Qing was at a loss for words. You’d think he’s sleazy and shameless as a swindler, but how come he’s observing so acutely? He even figures out others’ daily routines; is this something a charlatan should be doing?

Old Wang Ba said, ”Cut the crap, hurry up and lend me a million to use!”

”One million!” Ye Qing’s eyes widened, ”What do you need a million for? You think I print money or what?”

Old Wang Ba said, ”Of course you don’t print money. If you did, would I, Eighth Master, only ask for a million? It’d be at least a hundred million to start with!”

”No money!” Ye Qing replied bluntly. Old Wang Ba was really unreliable, asking for a million just like that. What could he possibly need a million for?

”Really not giving it?” Old Wang Ba’s tone was provocative.

”Nonsense, of course I’m really not giving it!” Ye Qing responded.

”Fine, don’t regret it!” Old Wang Ba said arrogantly, ”I’m telling you, this one million is key. It’s about whether you can take over the entire Eastern Province or not. Don’t end up regretting it!”

”What rubbish are you spouting? Stop talking nonsense!” Ye Qing snapped back irritably, ”Enough with the jokes, Eighth Master, I’ve got things to do. Don’t just wander off and get caught by the police, because I won’t be able to bail you out. I think you’d better stay and recuperate in Shenchuan City for a few days. Once I’m done here, I’ll come and find you!”

”Don’t be impatient, I’m talking serious business here.” Old Wang Ba said, ”I’m serious, this one million really does matter if you want to take over the entire Eastern Province and stand at the same status as that girl from Huangfu Household once did.”

Ye Qing frowned slightly, Old Wang Ba’s words suggesting that he wanted him to control the Underground Forces of the entire Eastern Province, just like Huangfu Ziyu did before. Ye Qing had never thought about this before, but now the situation made him consider these options. Since people from Western Province and the Chen Family came to Shenchuan City, he gradually realized that his power was too weak and he could be swallowed by others at any time. Therefore, he also thought, should he expand his power further?

Now with Old Wang Ba saying this, it certainly piqued his interest. However, thinking of how unreliable Old Wang Ba could be, Ye Qing immediately shook his head and said, ”Let’s not joke around, Eighth Master, I really have something serious to do...”

”It’s just the talk about alliance with the Chen Family, right?” Old Wang Ba said condescendingly, ”Those guys from the Chen Family are the cautious type, they won’t show their claws until they see the rabbit. They wouldn’t even take you seriously if your power isn’t up to par, let alone cooperate with you. Young Ye, I’m telling you, you urgently need some top-notch fighters to hold the fort. Give me one million, and I can recruit some for you in no time!”

”Top-notch fighters?” Ye Qing’s interest was piqued, as he was indeed in need of people. But the question was, were the top-notch fighters mentioned by Old Wang Ba really top-notch? That old guy was so unreliable usually, who knew whether he could be trusted this time?

”That’s right, top-notch fighters!” Old Wang Ba asserted, ”One of them has fought with the Right Protector and was evenly matched.”

Ye Qing’s eyes lit up; among all the top-notch fighters he had encountered, Third Master Li and Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun were undoubtedly the strongest. Following them was Cui Yulong – who could rival Cui Yulong when he unsheathed his Ink Pattern Black Gold Blade? And after Cui Yulong came the likes of Wang Tian’an and Great Right Protector Shen and his peers, whose strengths were close, all of them were top-level fighters. Even Huangfu Ziyu, who wielded the Cold Moon Blade, had a fighting chance against these three but was still a slight notch below. Following Huangfu Ziyu were top fighters like Black Asura, Cui Yu, Xu Cunxiao, and others. As for Tie Yongwen, Ye Qing had always been unsure where exactly his strength lies; probably only Cui Yu, who had fought him, knew Tie Yongwen’s true power!

Now, with a severe shortage of experts by Ye Qing’s side, it would be excellent if some could indeed come to help. Especially if someone of the same level as Wang Tian’an’s Right Protector could be brought in – that would be tremendously good news. But the biggest question now is, can Old Wang Ba’s words be trusted? Would this one hundred grand just be throwing a meat bun to a dog?

”Give you one hundred grand and you’ll find me such an expert?” Ye Qing spoke with skepticism. He truly couldn’t believe that such an expert could be swayed by one hundred grand.

Old Wang Ba said: ”You don’t worry about that, just transfer the money to me. At the latest within ten days, I’ll bring you the people.”

Ye Qing said: ”Why not you bring the people first, then I give you the money? Wouldn’t that be the same?”

Old Wang Ba said: ”The same my ass, cut the crap and quickly send the money. Damn it, after buying train tickets, I, Eighth Master, don’t even have money left to eat. You don’t want Eighth Master to starve to death in the waiting room, do you?”

”...” Ye Qing was speechless and said: ”Eighth Master, don’t tell me you’ve run out of money, so you made up this story to get me to send you the cash?”

”Believe it or not, I’m helping you, man. Why all the nonsense?” Old Wang Ba replied indignantly: ”Alright, enough chit-chat. Either you transfer the money, or consider the deal off. I’ve got other things to handle, hanging up now...”

As Ye Qing was holding the phone, not yet having a chance to speak, he heard Old Wang Ba’s sleazy voice again: ”Hey, young man, your brow is looking dark. Facing some troubles recently? Let me tell you, this is an ominous sign, you need to change your luck. I have Fate Changing Beads here that have been personally consecrated by the high monks of Mount Wutai...”

Ye Qing was utterly speechless and hung up directly. Old Wang Ba, this old rascal, never changes his spots. In such a good life in Shenchuan City, he keeps scamming wherever he goes. Isn’t he afraid of really getting caught by the police?

Black Bear had been listening to the conversation between Ye Qing and Old Wang Ba, and asked: ”Captain, are we really going to transfer the money to him?”

Ye Qing was silent for a good while, then slowly nodded and said: ”Do it!”

”Really do it, Captain?” Black Bear said: ”That Old Wang Ba is too unreliable. I’m afraid that once we send the money, it will be like throwing a meat bun at a dog!”

”No worries!” Ye Qing said that, but he still had some doubts in his heart. First, Old Wang Ba was truly unreliable. Secondly, where would you find such an expert that could be bought with one hundred grand?

However, Ye Qing still wanted to give it a try. Although Old Wang Ba was usually unreliable, the incident with Liu Changping really showed Old Wang Ba’s abilities. Hence, Ye Qing had some faith in him. Plus, Ye Qing was also feeling a bit of wishful thinking. If this turned out to be true and he could find a few experts to help, things would become much easier for Ye Qing’s side.

Black Bear didn’t say anything else. Since Ye Qing had made the decision, he also agreed and directly instructed his men to carry out the task.

Ye Qing pondered over the matter all the way to the hotel, and even upon arrival, he still harbored some doubts. However, since he had decided to transfer the money, he went with it. Even if Old Wang Ba really swindled him, it wouldn’t cause Ye Qing much heartache, considering Old Wang Ba had helped him quite a bit.

At the hotel, everything was arranged as Ye Qing had instructed. Tonight, the entire building would cater exclusively to Ye Qing and his people without accepting other guests.

Mad Dog was standing at the entrance. Seeing Ye Qing come over, he immediately stepped forward to greet him: ”Boss, since last night, there have been two groups of people showing up in the vicinity, observing the situation here from a distance. This afternoon, two groups of guests came using the excuse of booking rooms, but in reality, they were also scouting the inside of our hotel.”

Ye Qing nodded. He had anticipated these developments. The Chen Family would certainly send someone to monitor the situation here. After all, it was the first-time cooperation between both parties, and the Chen Family would be very cautious. They needed to pay close attention to the terrain and surroundings, so it was normal for them to send people to scout ahead of time. However, the arrival of two groups indicated that Wang Tian’an had also received the news and had started sending people to observe as well.

”How long was the gap between these two groups of people last night?” Ye Qing asked.

”Not long, around twenty minutes or so,” Mad Dog replied.

”Twenty minutes.” Ye Qing slightly furrowed his brow. The timing between the arrival of the people from the Chen Family and Wang Tian’an was so short; this pointed to a very critical detail. There must be a mole for Wang Tian’an inside the Chen Family; otherwise, Wang Tian’an wouldn’t have received the news so quickly.
