Urban Martial Saint

White Horse Chen San was also seeing Ye Qing for the first time, witnessing this man with a flat-top haircut, a face sharp as a knife, and a spine straight as a javelin, he was slightly surprised.

Chen San had heard a lot about Ye Qing from his sister Chen Si, and although he had never met Ye Qing, he had a basic understanding of him. In his mind, Ye Qing was supposed to be a very dominant, brave, and fierce man. Unexpectedly, Ye Qing was of average height and appearance, which really surprised him. He really couldn’t understand how someone with Ye Qing’s physique could master the Li Style Bajiquan to any significant level.

Chen San knew from Chen Si that Ye Qing was simply unable to perform Internal Energy Release. If one cannot perform Internal Energy Release, then one must practice only the external skills of Bajiquan. However, Bajiquan being fierce and dominant, if only practicing external skills, requires extremely high physical strength. Ye Qing’s physique seemed somewhat unsuitable for practicing the external skills of Bajiquan.

Of course, seeing Black Bear standing next to Ye Qing, like a towering iron tower, White Horse Chen San also couldn’t help but inwardly praise him. Black Bear’s physique was extremely rare in the world, truly a suitable candidate for practicing Bajiquan!

After exchanging some pleasantries with Ye Qing, Chen San, accompanied by Ye Qing, went up to the rooftop. All the chefs were there, and Ye Qing let the Chen Family Siblings choose their favored cuisines, then directly arranged for the chefs to start cooking, while he sat down with the Chen Family Siblings for a slow chat.

Ye Qing was more familiar with Chen Si, but regarding White Horse Chen San, he had only heard many legends about him. It was their first meeting, and although it was for discussing a partnership, they could not directly start talking about it.

The three chatted leisurely for about five minutes, then Mad Dog came over, leaned into Ye Qing’s ear, and whispered, ”Boss, another group of people has arrived, sneaking into the small woods at the northeast corner, and are observing our situation here.”

Ye Qing nodded slowly, and in a low voice said to Mad Dog, ”Go out, and help me hang a lantern at the entrance.”

”A lantern?” Mad Dog was puzzled, not understanding why Ye Qing suddenly wanted to hang this.

Ye Qing continued, ”Just hang it on the third post outside!”

Although Mad Dog didn’t understand the purpose behind Ye Qing’s actions, he still immediately ran out to take care of it.

Chen San, sitting opposite, had very good hearing and had vaguely heard the conversation between Ye Qing and Mad Dog. He was clear that this group of people must be those brought by Wang Tian’an from Western Province. Because his men were hiding in the northwest corner, waiting for Wang Tian’an’s men. However, he couldn’t figure out what Ye Qing meant by hanging a lantern outside!

Just as Mad Dog had left, one of Chen San’s men also came over and told him the same information. However, Chen San didn’t say anything, just waved his hand at him, signaling him not to act rashly.

This greatly surprised his subordinate; they had brought so many people just to be prepared against Wang Tian’an’s men. Now that Wang Tian’an’s people had arrived, and yet Chen San was asking him not to act rashly, what did this mean? Could it be that he was still waiting for something?

Chen Si, standing beside, having heard the subordinate’s words and seeing that Chen San had no intention of taking action, couldn’t help feeling a bit anxious and whispered, ”Brother...”

”The decoration and layout of this hotel of the Ye brothers are quite good, aren’t they!” Chen San immediately spoke up, not giving Chen Si a chance to speak.

”Hehe…” Ye Qing smiled and said, ”I don’t understand any of these things; all were handled by my partner Li. I’m also not knowledgeable about business; many things are managed by Li’s help,”

”Having such a partner is also a good thing!” Chen San chuckled lightly, ”Actually, no matter what you do, the key is to find a good partner. If you find a partner who only holds you back, it’s better to go it alone!”

Ye Qing smiled faintly, he knew that Chen San’s words were hinting at him, wanting to inquire if he was a good partner.

”What Third Brother Chen said is correct.” Ye Qing responded, ”However, since we are partners, it naturally means a partnership. When we work together, there is no issue of who is dragging whom down. Everyone stands on equal footing, mutual trust and respect help each other!”

”Hahaha…” Chen San also laughed, he could also understand the implication in Ye Qing’s words. Ye Qing’s words were essentially telling him that since they were to cooperate, they should stand on equal footing, trust, and respect each other.

Actually, both Chen San and Ye Qing had some concerns about discussing a cooperation. Chen San was afraid that Ye Qing’s strength was not enough, which would make cooperation unnecessary, so he kept testing Ye Qing’s strength. Whereas Ye Qing was afraid that Chen San would use him as a weapon, so he constantly emphasized the matter of status.

Just then, Mad Dog suddenly ran back in from outside, leaned into Ye Qing’s ear and whispered softly, ”Boss, trouble, two cars are heading to the small woods at the northeast corner, should we stop them?”

Ye Qing chuckled and shook his head, then waved his hand at Mad Dog, signaling him to go down first.

White Horse Chen San had been listening to the conversation between Ye Qing and Mad Dog from across the table, slightly furrowing his brows upon hearing their exchange. At this moment, two cars headed towards Wang Tian’an’s group, how could this be such a coincidence? Moreover, seeing Ye Qing’s confident demeanor, it seemed like he had already known about this. Could it be that he knew who was sitting in those two cars? Or, were those two cars arranged by him?

But even if those two cars were indeed arranged by Ye Qing, he shouldn’t be so confident. It is known that Wang Tian’an came with more than thirty people, all of whom are first-rank experts. Aside from his own martial arts, Ye Qing could only count on the Sha Men people for help. Even if everyone in those two cars belonged to Sha Men, facing more than thirty people led by Wang Tian’an would be a suicidal act. How could Ye Qing be so confident?

Just at this moment, Chen San’s subordinate came over and reported the situation, asking if Chen San wanted to send people over. Chen San waved his hand again; had Ye Qing not been so calm, he would have truly considered sending help. But seeing Ye Qing’s equanimity, he was no longer in a rush to make a move. He wanted to see what kind of trick Ye Qing was playing.

Chen Si, standing by the side, looked at Ye Qing and then at Chen San. She had clearly heard the conversations of both parties, but their reactions completely defied her expectations. Observing their expressions, she decided to simply remain silent and let them sort it out themselves.

Right then, the first dish was served. The culinary skills of the hotel chef were quite impressive, creating a dish that was fragrant and enticing, making the mouths of everyone nearby water.

”Brother Chen San, Miss Chen Si, try and see how good our chef’s skills are!” Ye Qing said with a smile.

Chen San didn’t hold back. He took a bite and could not help but exclaim in admiration, ”Oh, this is incredible! To think that one could taste such authentic Lu cuisine here in Shenchuan City. The Ye brothers, your hotel’s chef really has remarkable culinary skills!”

Chen Si had a taste as well. Unlike Chen San, she hadn’t lived long in Ludong and thus didn’t have much of a concept about Lu cuisine. However, she understood whether food tasted good or not. After taking a bite, she too couldn’t help but utter her admiration.

”All these were arranged by Brother Li. As for where exactly he found the chef, I’m not quite sure,” Ye Qing chuckled, ”I hardly bother about things over here, it has all been handled single-handedly by Brother Li. Brother Li is very thorough in his management, I trust whatever he does, I don’t need to cross-question anything!”

With these words, Ye Qing was conveying to Chen San that he had great respect for Li Lianshan. Mutual respect was a prerequisite for cooperation.

Chen San slightly smiled and said, ”I heard that when Brother Li was in Shenchuan City before, he didn’t have the status or wealth he has today. It’s said that it’s all due to you, the Ye brothers, that he has come this far today. I wonder if that’s true or not?”

This statement from Chen San was telling Ye Qing: it was you who helped Li Lianshan stand in the position he’s in today, so his treatment of you is only to be expected.

Ye Qing stared at Chen San for a while. Ever since Chen San entered, Ye had been hinting that if they wanted to cooperate, they must be on equal footing. Chen San’s attitude was also clear, spending so much time confirming that cooperation would be predicated on what strength Ye possessed.

This point from Chen San made Ye Qing somewhat uncomfortable. Originally, due to Chen Si’s relationship, he had wanted to become friends with Chen San, which would make cooperation smoother. However, Chen San’s constant concern about Ye Qing’s strength caused Ye’s opinion of him to change significantly. It now seemed that even if they could cooperate, it wasn’t destined for them to become friends!

Ye Qing said, ”Brother Chen San, I have some fiery liquor just delivered from the North, not sure if it will suit your taste!”

”Fiery liquor, that’s fantastic!” Chen San laughed heartily, ”That’s my favorite kind of alcohol!”

”That’s wonderful!” Ye Qing gestured, and immediately a server came over carrying a jug.

”This is fiery liquor brewed using ancient methods, the best there is!” Chen San took the jug, popped open the lid, filled up bowls in front of Ye Qing and himself, and raised his bowl saying, ”Come, Brother Ye, let’s drink up to our first meeting.”

”Wait a moment.” Ye Qing stopped Chen San, smiling, ”Brother Chen San, do you like to drink like this?”

Chen San glanced at the dishes on the table, ”Isn’t this not drinking on an empty stomach?”

”What I mean is…” Ye Qing said with a light smile, ”before we drink, how about we add something to liven up the mood?”

Chen San looked even more astonished, staring at Ye Qing for a while, ”Brother Ye, you’ve arranged some sort of performance?”

”It’s a last-minute arrangement, not sure if it’ll catch your eye,” Ye Qing said lightly, standing up and instructing a nearby server, ”Pull open the curtains!”
