Urban Martial Saint

When Ye Qing returned to the urban area, Wang Tian’an’s six subordinates had also arrived in the city.

Actually, Ye Qing had already arranged a plan to deal with Xu Cunxiao. When he left the hotel, he created a false impression that he had taken away a bunch of injured people, intentionally luring Xu Cunxiao to make a move. In fact, he had quietly sent those people away in secret and only brought along Black Bear Mad Dog and a few others who were more skilled. This way, it was easier to climb up the cliff.

Indeed, Ye Qing’s decision proved to be correct, solving the problem of so many of Xu Cunxiao’s men at once. Although Xu Cunxiao escaped, he undoubtedly had to suffer the torment of the heart-devouring bug again once he returned, which would be definitely life-threatening. Tonight, Ye Qing had a complete victory, not only dealing with many of Wang Tian’an’s experts but also impressing Chen San. At the very least, Chen San had recognized Ye Qing and decided to hand over the entirety of Shenchuan City to Ye Qing. Even if Great General Helian Tiehua was to come down to Jiangnan in the future, Shenchuan City would become Ye Qing’s untouched haven, where no one else would intrude!

After those six people returned to the urban area, Ye Qing directly took them to the hospital. Besides the one whose heart-devouring bug flared up, the other five first received treatment for burns. They were all severely burned, but compared to the agony of the heart-devouring bug devouring one’s internal organs, the pain was negligible, and they could still bear it.

Upon seeing Ye Qing able to alleviate the agony of the heart-devouring bug, the five men regarded him as a Heavenly God and felt that Ye Qing might very well be able to eliminate the heart-devouring bug. So, they no longer thought about returning to Wang Tian’an and were willing to follow Ye Qing. After all, Wang Tian’an never treated them as human, whereas Ye Qing not only spared their lives but also gave them such good treatment. They were very clear about how to choose.

As for the one whose heart-devouring bug acted up, Ye Qing temporarily induced the bug into unconsciousness using methods from the Acupoint Seeking Technique, but this was not a cure. Moreover, Ye Qing could not unlock his acupoints, otherwise, the heart-devouring bug would wake up again, and the man would have to endure suffering. That is to say, if Ye Qing could not find a way to completely eliminate the heart-devouring bug, this man would have to remain unconscious like this, relying on medical drugs to sustain his life.

Ye Qing specifically sought out Lin Tianyou and told him about the heart-devouring bug, asking for his help in seeing if it could be eliminated.

Lin Tianyou had never heard of such gu insects before and was naturally astonished to learn that such miraculous things existed. He immediately came down in person to perform a comprehensive examination on the man.

The examination results shocked Lin Tianyou; hundreds of tiny parasites were residing inside the man’s body. These parasites were all living close to the internal organs, tightly adhering to them, with barbs on their tails that pierced directly into the organs. In other words, if one attempted to remove these parasites, the barbs would tear the organs, leading to immediate death. These parasites were most likely Wang Tian’an’s heart-devouring bugs.

”Now it seems that it is virtually impossible to remove these parasites!” Lin Tianyou was extremely shocked and said, ”I have never seen these things before. How about this, I will send some pictures to my research institute abroad and let them study these parasites.”

”That’s fine.” Ye Qing nodded. If even Lin Tianyou had no solution, it seemed no one domestically could eliminate the heart-devouring bug. For now, the only option was to do everything possible to maintain these people’s lives and seek a way to eliminate the heart-devouring bug from a foreign medical institute.

Lin Tianyou selected a few photos, looked at them carefully, and suddenly said with surprise, ”Oh, why is his blood flow so slow?”

”I used Traditional Chinese Medicine methods to seal their acupoints, slowing down the blood flow.” Ye Qing replied. Lin Tianyou definitely didn’t understand Inner Strength. However, knowing that Traditional Chinese Medicine had many miraculous aspects, upon hearing this, Lin Tianyou marveled at the magic of Chinese medicine, unaware of the even more miraculous existence of Inner Strength.

”It’s fortunate that his blood flow is slow.” Lin Tianyou pointed at the photos and said, ”Look at these parasites, their heads are affected by the blood flow. If the blood circulates too fast, it will stimulate them to wake up. According to what you just said, once awakened, they will slowly devour human internal organs, which is extremely dangerous. Once the organs are punctured, it would be fatal!”

Only then did Ye Qing realize where those methods for alleviating the effects of gu bugs in the Acupoint Seeking Technique came from. So that was it.

”Is there a medical way to slow down their blood flow, so as not to stimulate these parasites?” asked Ye Qing.

”There are medical methods, but the key issue is that these parasites, living inside the body, need nourishment, they need to eat.” Lin Tianyou said, ”They might be full now, so we can use methods to slow down the blood flow to halt their activity temporarily. But once they sense hunger, they will wake up again. At that time, slowing down the blood flow will only slow down the rate of their consumption, but will not stop them from devouring.”

Ye Qing widened his eyes and said, ”So you’re saying that even if we can slow down the blood flow, we won’t be able to alleviate the pain when that time comes?”

”Pain relief is possible, but we can’t do it like this time anymore,” Lin Tianyou said. ”This time you slowed down the blood flow, which allowed the parasites to continue sleeping. However, next time, the parasites won’t sleep; they’ll just devour at a slower rate, and the pain won’t be as intense. But if they keep devouring like this, it will still be fatal. So, we must either prevent these parasites from waking up or completely expel them from the body. That is the only solution!”

Ye Qing furrowed his brows; the situation was troublesome now. According to Lin Tianyou, once these Heart-devouring Bugs wake up due to hunger, sealing a person’s acupoints would be futile. It seemed urgent to find a method to remove the Heart-devouring Bugs, or once an episode occurs, these six people would be doomed.

”Since these parasites are artificially cultivated within the body, there should be other methods to control them,” Lin Tianyou said. ”Moreover, as they exist within the body, they must have other food sources normally. Otherwise, these people would have died long ago.”

”There are other foods,” Ye Qing nodded, recalling what the six people had previously mentioned. It was Wang Tian’an who controlled them using the food for the Heart-devouring Bugs. If they refused to work for Wang Tian’an, he wouldn’t provide them with the food for their Heart-devouring Bugs.

Lin Tianyou said, ”If we can find some of this food, maybe I can research and replicate its production method in the lab. We could make this food to temporarily sustain the parasites. As long as we keep these people alive first, we can gradually find a permanent cure, so there won’t be any life-threatening danger.”

Lin Tianyou’s words instantly lit up a spark in Ye Qing’s mind, who eagerly asked, ”Can you really research and replicate the production method of this food?”

Lin Tianyou replied, ”The key is to have the actual food so I can analyze its composition.”

Ye Qing immediately responded, ”Then I’ll find a way to get some!”

”That’s good,” Lin Tianyou nodded and said, ”In that case, I won’t go out for a while. You find me the food for these parasites, and I’ll study it carefully. To be honest, I’ve never seen these parasites before. How exactly are they cultivated within the human body?”

Ye Qing shrugged his shoulders and said helplessly, ”I don’t know either.”

”Traditional Chinese Medicine is indeed profound and vast!” Lin Tianyou exclaimed. ”These cultivation methods are beyond current scientific understanding. If we can thoroughly research this, it would be a great discovery!”

Ye Qing looked at the diagrams in Lin Tianyou’s hands and couldn’t help but reflect inwardly. If he hadn’t seen the method of cultivating Gu Insects with his own eyes, he would never believe it. But now that he had witnessed it himself, he had to acknowledge that there were indeed things in this world that seemed inexplicable. Just like the Heart-devouring Bugs—who would have thought that such Gu Insects could be cultivated and controlled within a human body? It was truly remarkable.

These Heart-devouring Bugs were cultivated by King Yan Ning Qianshu, who was a disciple of Divine Doctor An Shiping. Considering this, the extent of Divine Doctor An Shiping’s medical skills was beyond Ye Qing’s imagination!

After leaving the six people at the hospital, Ye Qing left. With Lin Tianyou there, Ye Qing didn’t need to worry. Even if these people’s Heart-devouring Bugs acted up, Lin Tianyou had the means to slow down the blood flow, temporarily relieving the pain, making Ye Qing’s presence unnecessary.

However, for Ye Qing, the most crucial task now was to obtain some food for the Heart-devouring Bugs so that Lin Tianyou could figure out how to replicate it. Only by doing this could he ensure the survival of these people. But getting this food was going to be a difficult task.

Ye Qing asked the six people, but none of them had ever seen what the food for the Heart-devouring Bugs looked like. They only knew that they ate a meal provided by Wang Tian’an every month. Only those who ate this meal would prevent the Heart-devouring Bugs from acting up. If someone made a mistake or did something to displease Wang Tian’an, he wouldn’t let them eat this meal. If they didn’t eat, the Heart-devouring Bugs would quickly act up. Thus, some suspected that the food for the Heart-devouring Bugs was mixed into these dishes.

But no one had seen what exactly the food for the Heart-devouring Bugs was.

This answer made Ye Qing frown deeply. Even those controlled by the Heart-devouring Bugs had never seen the food, which made his search for it even more challenging. Was he supposed to steal all the dishes Wang Tian’an offered as a guest and have Lin Tianyou study them?
