Urban Martial Saint

One day passed, and nothing significant happened in Shenchuan City. As dusk approached, two black sedans slowly drove up outside the courtyard of the Snake Form Gate. Under the gaze of everyone there, six elders got out of the cars.

A man from the Snake Form Gate immediately greeted them and said, ”Master, esteemed uncles, you must be tired from your journey!”

The six elders completely ignored them; each with a grim expression, they walked straight into the courtyard. They had already been informed of the situation in Shenchuan City, and one could imagine their mood.

The disciples of the Snake Form Gate hurriedly followed them inside. The six elders sat down in the courtyard, and the leading elder turned his head and said sternly, ”I’ve only been gone a few days, how could such a big incident occur? What exactly happened? Why did you have a conflict with Ye Qing? Moreover, what deep and grievous hatred do you have with him that he would kill Snake?”

This elder was none other than Song Yuanwu, the current Sect Leader of the Snake Form Gate, and the man mentioned, Snake, was indeed his son. Having only this one son, one could imagine his fury upon learning that his son had been killed.

The disciples of the Snake Form Gate all bowed their heads. Hearing Song Yuanwu’s words, the senior disciple standing at the forefront hastily said, ”Master, we cannot be blamed for this. It’s mainly Ye Qing who has gone too far. He not only killed our eldest brother, but earlier, he also killed thirteen of our younger brothers. Outraged, our eldest brother went to confront him, and this Ye just killed him after a few words. Master, we...”

”Tell me the truth!” Song Yuanwu shouted angrily. ”Without any reason, would this man Ye kill thirteen of our people from the Snake Form Gate?”

The second brother seemed startled, then said, ”We... we didn’t provoke him, it’s he who wanted to bully others, it had nothing to do with us...”

”You still want to lie to me!” Song Yuanwu slammed the table and said angrily, ”Although I haven’t met this Ye Qing, I’ve heard of his name. Even someone like Tie Yongwen supports him, which shows that this man is definitely not a villain. If you didn’t provoke him, why would he come to pick a quarrel with you?”

Everyone glanced at each other, knowing that Song Yuanwu, though blunt, was a different person from Snake. It seemed impossible to deceive him about this matter.

”Master, this... this matter, it’s not entirely our fault...” the second brother murmured, ”Even if both parties were at fault, we didn’t injure Ye Qing himself. Yet, he has killed so many of us, even our eldest brother was killed by him, this matter...”

”Don’t talk about that yet, tell me honestly, what exactly happened!” Song Yuanwu demanded angrily.

With a sigh, the second brother slowly explained the matter about Snake going to Ye Qing and Li Lianshan to demand land. Of course, his account was biased, portraying Ye Qing as a tyrannical and utterly wicked villain who deliberately bullied the Snake Form Gate.

Song Yuanwu’s brow furrowed deeply as he listened; he knew too well that he couldn’t fully trust what his disciples said—a tenth of their words being believable was already quite good. However, after listening to the second brother’s story, he basically understood what had happened. It turned out that the Snake Form Gate had initiated the conflict, which angered him greatly.

”You bunch of useless people, always causing trouble instead of properly practicing at home!” Song Yuanwu shouted, ”Now you’ve provoked someone you shouldn’t have. So many people died, are you satisfied now? That piece of land was sold to Huangfu Ziyu over a decade ago, it wasn’t ours anymore. And yet you still went to demand it from them, how is that different from extortion? And you have the audacity to say it’s Ye Qing’s fault? By your logic, your extortion isn’t wrong?”

The disciples below all bowed their heads, not daring to speak. An elder sitting beside Song Yuanwu turned around and said, ”Eldest brother, what’s done is done, blaming them now is useless. Although what they did was somewhat wrong, Ye Qing’s actions were too extreme. Killing so many of our people from the Snake Form Gate, even Snake, he clearly doesn’t regard our Sect at all. We must seek a settlement from them!”

”Exactly!” Another elder nodded, saying angrily, ”Even if it was our fault, such matters don’t justify death. Even if Ye Qing was angry, injuring them might be justified, but was there a need for killing? This Ye acts too ruthlessly, such a person is nothing but a scourge!”

”Moreover, they still have the body of Snake, what is the meaning of this? The man is already dead, are they planning to whip his corpse? We must first retrieve the body of Snake!”

The other elders also expressed their desire to confront Ye Qing for an explanation, and Song Yuanwu’s brows were tightly furrowed. Although he continuously scolded his disciples, his heart harbored even greater resentment towards Ye Qing. Even though the Snake Form Gate was initially at fault, Ye Qing’s actions of killing so many people from the Sect were also incorrect.

”Ye surname, do you really think my Snake Form Gate has no one left?” Song Yuanwu gritted his teeth and smashed his fist on the nearby table, speaking in a deep voice, ”Send someone to notify Ye Qing, telling him to bring Xiao She’s corpse to the Snake Form Gate by 8 o’clock tonight, and to come and explain this matter in person. Otherwise, starting today, my Snake Form Gate will be relentless in our vendetta against him!”

Upon hearing Song Yuanwu’s words, a hint of joy flashed in the eyes of many below. Song Yuanwu’s statement was clearly a move to trouble Ye Qing. This fulfilled their purpose, allowing them to receive a generous reward from Xu Cunxiao, which was exactly what they hoped to see.

”Master, I’ll send someone to notify Ye Qing immediately!” Second Brother hurriedly responded and turned around, bringing a few men to rush out and handle the matter.

In the courtyard, several elders alongside Song Yuanwu were still seated. An elder beside Song Yuanwu paused slightly before saying, ”Elder Brother, this Ye surname, is said to be quite strong. Moreover, he has a good relationship with the Sha Men who have helped him many times. This time, we must make thorough preparations to prevent Ye Qing from attacking us. Elder Brother, should we notify people from other sects to come and assist us?”

Song Yuanwu fell silent for a long while and slowly nodded, saying, ”That’s a good idea. If this Ye surname doesn’t give me an explanation tonight, then don’t let him leave our Snake Form Gate alive. Second Brother, go contact those six sects and ask their people to come help.”

Xu Cunxiao, in the house opposite the Snake Form Gate, couldn’t help but slam the table and burst into laughter upon hearing this: ”Perfect! Perfect! Hahaha, people from seven sects gathered together. Ye Qing, I want to see how you will live past tonight at the Snake Form Gate!”

Mr. Wu, beside him, also showed a face full of excitement, saying, ”Third Brother, since that’s the case, should we go back and report this matter to Big Brother first?”

”No need!” Xu Cunxiao shook his head decisively, gritting his teeth, ”Before Ye Qing is dead, I cannot relax whatsoever. Moreover, I want to see with my own eyes how Ye Qing dies. If I leave, wouldn’t I be wasting such a good opportunity!”

Mr. Wu looked at Xu Cunxiao, knowing that Xu Cunxiao had a deep grudge against Ye Qing. Xu Cunxiao’s staying here was actually to ensure Ye Qing’s death. If those from the seven sects couldn’t kill Ye Qing, then he would take action himself; he would never let Ye Qing leave alive.

”Shall I arrange for some men, in case those from the seven sects cannot kill Ye Qing, our men can keep him here!” Mr. Wu suggested.

”No need!” Xu Cunxiao shook his head again, sneering, ”The elders from those seven sects, none of them are weak. No matter how many people Ye Qing brings, it won’t matter unless he also calls for help from the Sha Men. However, the Sha Men now, lacking the Netherworld Scholar, cannot set up the Seven Kills Formation. Plus, with Cui Yulong and Blood-Sealed Throat not here, Sha Men’s strength is not worth mentioning. Even if Ye Qing brings people from Sha Men for help, tonight, they are absolutely no match for our seven sects. We don’t need to go to any extra trouble, if someone sees something fishy and it impacts our plan, it wouldn’t be worthwhile!”

Mr. Wu nodded, saying, ”Third Brother has thought through everything. Since that’s the case, I won’t call for help.”

”You don’t need to call for help at all.” Xu Cunxiao sneered coldly, ”Tonight, Ye Qing is undoubtedly doomed to die; we just need to wait to collect Ye Qing’s corpse!”

A sly smile also crossed Mr. Wu’s face. For Xu Cunxiao, killing Ye Qing was revenge. For him, killing Ye Qing was an achievement; he would use Ye Qing’s head to exchange for the Heart-devouring Bug’s food with Wang Tian’an. Seeing that the plan was about to succeed, how could he not be pleased?

In Shenchuan City, Ye Qing hadn’t slept the previous night and had rested for half the day to rejuvenate himself. After waking up and having dinner, Ye Qing received the news from the Snake Form Gate, instructing him to immediately bring Snake’s corpse to the Snake Form Gate and then head there to explain the situation!

Ye Qing smiled lightly, having been waiting for this moment. Without any hesitation, he immediately instructed Hou San to arrange some men to load Snake’s corpse into a car and head directly to the Snake Form Gate.

Li Lianshan still didn’t know that Ye Qing had everything planned. Upon receiving the news, he immediately called Ye Qing to ask if he needed help. Li Lianshan had no love for the people of the Snake Form Gate, even yelling on the phone to bring people to flatten the Snake Form Gate. After all, they had also suffered harassment from people of the Snake Form Gate these past few days, and Li Lianshan was already furious.

Ye Qing quickly dissuaded Li Lianshan from this idea, telling him not to intervene in this matter for now. Ye Qing had carefully arranged this scene, wanting to use this opportunity to stage a good show. If Li Lianshan disrupted it, wouldn’t all Ye Qing’s efforts have been in vain.
