Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing’s guess was correct; Xu Cunxiao and others in Western Province really thought that the matter had been settled and were almost ready to celebrate. Even Xu Cunxiao, at this moment, was sitting with his legs crossed in a house next to Snake Form Gate, waiting to enjoy the show tonight.

Taking advantage of the night, Ye Qing had Hou San find a few of his more trusted men to clean up the collapsed shanty. Of course, these underlings were shocked to find no bodies inside the shanty. However, they all obeyed Hou San’s orders, and when he told them not to speak of this, they acted as if they saw nothing and tidied everything up under cover of darkness.

Just as they finished cleaning up here, several ambulances rushed over and a group of people in white coats busied themselves at the scene for a while. To outsiders, it seemed as if they were really rescuing people. In fact, these paramedics were also Ye Qing’s men in disguise, intended to deceive onlookers and make those from Western Province believe that many children were indeed trapped under the collapsed shanty at the orphanage.

After all the commotion here, dawn was about to break. Ye Qing, who had personally been bustling around all night, made sure there were no loopholes in this act before he finally went to rest.

Xu Cunxiao was actually very suspicious; although he was almost certain that the matter had been completely settled, he still left a few people to observe Ye Qing’s actions. When they saw Ye Qing leave, these people immediately reported the situation here back to Xu Cunxiao.

Upon hearing about the situation at the orphanage, Xu Cunxiao couldn’t help but sneer. Ye Qing being so busy indicated that many children really had died. Moreover, given Ye Qing’s character, he would not fail to report such a serious incident to the police, leading Xu Cunxiao to conclude that Snake must have died. Otherwise, why wouldn’t Ye Qing call the police? Only if Snake were dead would Ye Qing dare not report it!

Xu Cunxiao was indeed a man of great cunning, but unfortunately, he was still outwitted by Ye Qing. He didn’t realize that everything was just a play performed by Ye Qing, and he was still in the dark!

In fact, Chen San, Chen Si, and others were also kept in the dark. Hearing that Ye Qing killed Snake, both Chen San and Chen Si were stunned, as the development of the events was completely beyond their expectations.

”How could this be?” Chen Si frowned and said: ”Hadn’t Ye Qing already made a deal with the people from Snake Form Gate? Wasn’t he looking for the real culprit? Why would he suddenly kill Snake at this time?”

An underling said: ”I heard that it seemed Snake led an attack on Ye Qing’s orphanage, resulting in the death of many children. Out of rage, Ye Qing lost control and killed Snake, and the people from Snake Form Gate all fled.”

Chen San also furrowed his brows, exchanged a look with Chen Si, and both of them were very clear that all of this must have been another of Xu Cunxiao’s tricks.

Chen Si’s expression was a bit unsightly; in fact, she had high hopes for Ye Qing. She had met Ye Qing before, and although Ye Qing’s strength was not up to par at that time, she believed he was capable of achieving great things. This time, it was her suggestion to Chen San that led him to consider an alliance with Ye Qing. However, Chen San also wanted to use this incident to gauge Ye Qing’s real strength. If Ye Qing turned out to be powerless, Chen San would not consider cooperating with him at all!

Chen Si originally thought Ye Qing could handle this matter, so she and Chen San were waiting for Ye Qing to resolve the situation before discussing the alliance with him. She never expected that before this matter could be resolved, Ye Qing would escalate the situation. What did the death of Snake signify? Although Snake was not strong, he was after all the only son of the Sect Leader of Snake Form Gate. And since Snake Form Gate and the other six sects shared honor and disgrace, Snake’s death would definitely unite these seven sects against Ye Qing.

These seven sects might have fallen on hard times, but the older generation within them still possessed considerable strength. If these people banded together against Ye Qing, then Ye Qing might have a hard time even protecting himself, let alone thinking about the alliance with Chen San.

”Third Brother, I think, you shouldn’t even consider cooperating with this Ye anymore!” Aomuhan, however, was full of derision as he said: ”Look at what this Ye has done, the maneuvers of these people from Western Province to kill with a borrowed knife are so obvious, yet he still got fooled. Now, with this dumbass Snake dead, Ye Qing has basically made mortal enemies of these seven sects. Hmph, I think he doesn’t have many days left to live. The idea that Huangfu Ziyu would hand over the entirety of Eastern Province’s businesses to him, now looks like a huge joke. Even if Huangfu Ziyu really entrusts all that property in Eastern Province to him, will he even live to take it?”

Chen San also sighed, turned his head to look at Chen Si, and said: ”Little sister, it seems that this Ye Qing is a bit different from the person you spoke of!”

Although Chen San didn’t say much, the implication was that Chen Si had overestimated Ye Qing.

”Sister Four has been in the Eastern Province for too long; she’s seen too few capable people. That’s probably why she thinks Ye Qing is so talented,” Aomuhan laughed heartily, saying: ”If that’s the case, this Eastern Province is nothing special, really. Third Brother, you probably wouldn’t even need to lift a finger; Sister Four could swallow up the Eastern Province all by herself!”

Chen San didn’t pay attention to Aomuhan, knowing that in his heart, Aomuhan was more likely gloating over misfortune. However, Chen San felt a sense of regret; Chen Si had highly praised Ye Qing’s abilities, and he had originally planned to collaborate with Ye Qing, which could have provided him with substantial support. But to his disappointment, Ye Qing turned out to be far less strong than Chen Si had described, making things more difficult for Chen San when dealing with the people from the Western Province!

”Brother, Ye Qing wasn’t like this before!” Chen Si gritted her teeth and said: ”I think he must have some other plan. He’s always been measured in his actions and wouldn’t make a move recklessly. Why don’t we observe the situation here a bit longer?”

”Wait and see? Until when?” Aomuhan said: ”Sister Four, we’ve already delayed for three days for this Ye Qing. We knew Wang Tian’an’s people had entered Shenchuan City, and we should have taken them by surprise before they got settled in. Because of Ye Qing, we’ve wasted three days, and now we are to wait again. Is it that we no longer need to confront Wang Tian’an?”

Chen Si didn’t pay attention to Aomuhan, just looking expectantly at Chen San.

Chen San pondered for a while, sighed, and said: ”Tonight, the elders from Snake Form Gate will return. Once these elders come back, everything will be set in stone, beyond change. Before tonight, if Ye Qing can turn this crisis around, then he will still qualify to collaborate with us. If he cannot change the outcome, then he is not qualified to work with us!”

Chen Si took a deep breath, knowing that by saying this, Chen San had given Ye Qing one more day. If Ye Qing could resolve the issue before the elders of Snake Form Gate returned tonight, then Chen San would partner with him. If Ye Qing couldn’t handle the matter, then Chen San wouldn’t take him seriously. And if Chen San disregarded him, he would drive Ye Qing out of Shenchuan City and personally occupy Shenchuan City to confront Wang Tian’an, which could spell trouble for Ye Qing!

”Snake is dead, everyone witnessed Ye Qing kill Snake. Even if Ye Qing was given one hundred days, could he bring Snake back to life?” Aomuhan curled his lips and said: ”Third Brother, you are simply wasting time. If you ask me, it’d be better to just send people to directly drive out Ye Qing and his gang from Shenchuan City, so we can seize it and have a proper fight with those from the Western Province. Keeping these useless people in Shenchuan City will only be obstructing us!”

Chen San glanced at him and said, ”Everything will be decided tonight, Muh Han, there’s no need for you to be so anxious. Sister, get your people ready. If Ye Qing still can’t change the situation by tonight, we will have to drive out Wang Tian’an’s people from Shenchuan City first, then take over Shenchuan City and have a showdown with Wang Tian’an right here!”

”Yes!” Chen Si nodded and left with several subordinates to deal with the matter.

”Third Brother, what about me? What do I do?” Aomuhan promptly stood up, saying: ”How about I take some men and drive that Ye Qing and the worthless Li Lianshan out of Shenchuan City. By doing this, we could clean up this side of Shenchuan City first, fully focusing our energy to play with that Wang Tian’an!”

”No need!” Chen San immediately shook his head, unwilling to entrust such a task to Aomuhan, with his temperament.

”Why not?” Aomuhan wondered: ”Didn’t you just say that we should take over Shenchuan City? Third Brother, you can’t really believe that this man named Ye will resolve the situation within half a day, do you? Snake is dead. People from Snake Form Gate will definitely not let him go; he’s utterly useless!”

Chen San sighed, looked at Aomuhan, and said: ”Muh Han, never draw conclusions prematurely until the last moment. Before tonight, as long as he hasn’t clashed with the people from Snake Form Gate, anything is possible. Don’t be too hasty. If Ye Qing really has no ability, will there be any need for you to step in to drive him away? You’d better stay here because once the adoptive father calls, you’ll have to report to him about the situation here. Don’t make adoptive father worry!”

”Stuck with phone duty again!” Aomuhan suddenly jumped up, saying anxiously: ”No, I can’t stand by the phone all day; who could bear that? Third Brother, please let me go with you to the battle!”

”No!” Chen San flatly refused, saying: ”The task of manning the phone is crucial; I only trust our own people with it. Besides, ever since you came here, the adoptive father has been worried about you. If the adoptive father finds out you’re risking your life outside, he will definitely scold me. Muh Han, you don’t want me to be reprimanded, do you?”
