Urban Martial Saint

In fact, most of the elders from these seven sects were somewhat dissatisfied with Ye Qing’s current situation. In their eyes, Ye Qing mingling with Li Lianshan was no more than a worthless character. However, Snake’s words somehow changed many people’s opinions, even Song Yuanwu was nodding repeatedly.

”Earning money from the rich to aid the poor, when you think about it, Ye Qing really has a bit of that ancient ’rob the rich to help the poor’ vibe,” said Song Yuanwu.

”What he’s doing for these children is indeed admirable!” A sect leader kept nodding, saying, ”It’s not a big deal for a person to adopt one child or two. But for one person to adopt hundreds or thousands of orphans is no easy feat. After all, there are so many mouths to feed here, so his business dealings are also understandable. Nowadays, in this society, the distinction between the underworld and the lawful path is pure nonsense. Those officials act lawful enough, right? Behind the scenes, who knows how many are engaging in vile deeds like thievery and lechery? In contrast, those scraping by on the streets have a bit more compassion in them!”

The rest agreed, nodding one after another, deeply approving the sect leader’s views. Of course, their opinion of Ye Qing had also changed quite a bit; at the very least, they held great respect towards Ye Qing’s act of adopting so many children.

Next, the group discussed personnel arrangements. Anyway, Ye Qing was looking to recruit nearly three hundred people, and all of their children were set to come over. However, for easier management, they temporarily elected Snake to be the head of these people. All the disciples from these seven sects were to follow Snake’s orders, which greatly satisfied Snake’s vanity. Not only him, but Song Yuanwu also couldn’t stop smiling. Allowing Snake to take charge of this matter showed that they highly recognized this junior.

Later on, when the tally was over, Snake was shocked to find that the number of people on the list far exceeded the initial estimates, reaching over two hundred. Only later did he learn that when these elders heard that Ye Qing needed about three hundred people, they were reassured. Some not only sent their own children but also managed to arrange for their nephews and nieces to join, effectively finding a backdoor through Snake.

Snake was speechless at this realization. These people sure knew how to exploit opportunities. Nevertheless, since Ye Qing had given him the task of recruiting around three hundred people, the more, the merrier, as long as it stayed within the limits set by Ye Qing.

Having finalized the numbers, the elders immediately went back to relay the news to their nephews and nieces. Meanwhile, within the Snake Form Gate, tranquility was not restored. Song Yuanwu gathered all the disciples and expelled most of them from the sect. These people were the ones bought out by Xu Cunxiao, who had been hell-bent on taking Snake’s life before.

In reality, they knew their cover was blown once they saw Snake was still alive and Xu Cunxiao and the others were found out. Therefore, when Song Yuanwu expelled them from Snake Form Gate, they didn’t dare to utter a word of rebuttal and obediently packed up and left.

With that, only about twenty or thirty people remained in the Snake Form Gate. However, those who stayed were put to the test and gained even more of Song Yuanwu’s trust. Song Yuanwu had not been very diligent in teaching his disciples before, but this time, he was determined to properly train the remaining disciples and ensure that Snake Form Gate would not die out in his hands!

At the same time, in the villa where Chen San and Chen Si lived, Chen San had already dressed up, ready to go out.

Chen Si stood at the doorway with a troubled look on her face. Ye Qing’s visit to the Snake Form Gate had basically sealed the deal, and Chen San was preparing to make his move directly. This time, he aimed to ambush Wang Tian’an and take over the entire Shenchuan City, using it as a base to fight against those from the Western Province. Chen Si’s plan to cooperate with Ye Qing was now completely blown, which depressed her considerably.

”Little sister, are you still hoping for a miracle?” Aomuhan lounged on the sofa, laughing, ”I think you can stop wishing for it. If there’s no news by now, perhaps that Ye Qing has already been killed by the combined forces of those seven sects. With so many masters converging, even if Third Brother went in there, he probably wouldn’t come out in one piece, let alone that Ye Qing. I say, we might as well wait for dawn and casually go collect Ye’s corpse!”

In Aomuhan’s heart, Chen San was definitely a standout among the younger generation. His words suggested that he was indeed wary of those seven sects. Indeed, adding up all the elders from the seven sects, there were almost fifty people. These fifty, no matter how dull in talent, having practiced martial arts for decades, were definitely not to be underestimated. With fifty people striking together, unless Ye Qing had heaven-defying abilities, how could he possibly escape?

Chen Si frowned slightly and glanced at Aomuhan, saying sternly, ”Muh Han, big brother has already decided to attack, isn’t it a bit harsh for you to speak like this? Ye Qing hasn’t done anything to provoke you, so why do you target him at every turn? How does his death benefit you?”

”Ah, you’ve hit the nail on the head!” Aomuhan immediately sat up, laughing, ”For some reason, I get very annoyed when I hear the name Ye Qing. Knowing he is alive just irritates me. If he dies, I’ll be thrilled. Doesn’t that count as a benefit to me?”

Chen Si’s expression grew cold as she replied, ”Psychopath!”

”Hahaha, little sister, you keep speaking up for Ye Qing. What’s the matter, have you fallen for this guy?” Aomuhan laughed uproariously, ”Yo, isn’t our little sister originally manly herself? When did she also start fancying a man?”

”You...” Chen Si’s expression turned frigid, and she was about to get angry, but Chen San directly put out a hand to stop her.

”Muh Han, hold your tongue a bit,” Chen San said. ”Fourth Sister has always been measured in her actions. She has had several encounters with Ye Qing in Shenchuan City before, and even killed quite a few people from the Western Province in Ye Qing’s Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena. Therefore, she feels somewhat indebted to Ye Qing. Speaking a few words in his defense is not unreasonable. However, Fourth Sister, you do seem to have overestimated Ye Qing quite a bit. If he can’t even break out of this situation, in this chaotic battle, he’s destined to be just cannon fodder. Or perhaps, dying at the hands of Snake Form Gate might actually be a better outcome for him!”

Chen Si kept her head down and said nothing. In truth, she had also resigned herself to the belief that Ye Qing couldn’t possibly make it out alive. After all, Snake was the biological son of Song Yuanwu, the Sect Leader of Snake Form Gate. With his son dead, there was no doubt Song Yuanwu would demand a blood-for-blood retribution!

”Enough, let’s drop it!” Aomuhan stood up and said with a smile: ”Third Brother, it’s about time. How about I go out with you? You look for that Wang Tian’an, and I’ll take a trip to Snake Form Gate. Maybe I can help Fourth Sister bring back Ye Qing’s body. Then you can give Ye Qing a proper burial, Fourth Sister, and needn’t feel indebted to him anymore. What do you think of that, Fourth Sister?”

Chen Si’s expression turned colder, and Chen San sighed helplessly. He knew both Chen Si and Aomuhan were extremely arrogant, and they had never gotten along, often bickering. They had been arguing over the matter of Ye Qing for days now. It seemed that this dispute between them would not end until Ye Qing was indeed dead!

”Fourth Sister, why aren’t you speaking?” Aomuhan looked at Chen Si and said with a smile: ”What do you think of my suggestion? I’m trying to help you. In the future, don’t say I, as your brother, didn’t treat you well!”

”Stop spouting nonsense!” Chen Si finally burst out: ”Ye Qing might not necessarily die; all this talk is premature!”

”Premature?” Aomuhan laughed loudly: ”Ye Qing might not necessarily die? Fourth Sister, do you even believe what you’re saying? How could Ye Qing not die? Do you think the people of Snake Form Gate will let him go, or that the people from Western Province will spare him? Let me tell you, even if Snake Form Gate doesn’t kill him, those from Western Province will definitely do it. He won’t die? If he doesn’t die, I’ll take Ye as my surname!”

”You...” In a fury, Chen Si was about to retort when suddenly, someone rushed into the room in haste and exclaimed, ”Big Brother, something’s happened.”

”What’s happened?” The three people in the room turned to look at him, each with an expression of tension on their faces. With the ongoing confrontation with the people from Western Province, any small disturbance made all three edgy and alert.

”Did Wang Tian’an’s people launch an attack?” Aomuhan grabbed the clothes beside him and asked urgently: ”Where have his men reached? Damn, they dare to launch a surprise attack on us? I’ll go kill a bunch of them first!”

”It’s not that Wang Tian’an’s people have attacked...” The person gasped for air and said: ”Something’s happened at Snake Form Gate...”

”Something at Snake Form Gate?” The three people in the room looked at each other, with Aomuhan sneering immediately. In his mind, it was certain that Ye Qing had met his end at Snake Form Gate.

”What... what has happened there?” Chen Si asked urgently, deeply worried about what had transpired there.

The person said: ”The group led by Xu Cunxiao was found by the Slain Gate’s people. Mr. Wu has been killed, and all the other people from Western Province have been taken by Ye Qing!”

”What?” The three people in the room exclaimed simultaneously, with sheer shock on their faces. Everyone had assumed Ye Qing was as good as dead, yet an unexpected turn of events had taken place. What was going on?

”Ye Qing took the people from Western Province?” Aomuhan repeated the words, astounded: ”Ye Qing... Ye Qing... Ye Qing isn’t dead?”

”Of course, he’s not dead!” the person replied: ”Not only is he alive, but he has also become friends with the people of Snake Form Gate. It’s said that Snake Form Gate and those six sects are now fully supporting him!”

”What?” The three people in the room were again taken aback, with Chen Si wearing a look of surprise and joy and hurriedly asking, ”What exactly happened there? How could this be? Ye Qing... Ye Qing was supposed to be at odds with the people of Snake Form Gate, wasn’t he?”

Chen San and Aomuhan also looked toward the person, their minds filled with confusion, wondering what exactly had happened to lead to this situation.
