Urban Martial Saint

Lu Jiangong used to dominate the police system in Xishan City, truly a man who could cover the sky with one hand. Knowing that Chen Chunyang was Kong Anwu’s man, Hao Yong decided to use Lu Jiangong’s authority to suppress Chen Chunyang.

”Lu Jiangong?” Chen Chunyang couldn’t help but scoff, ”Fine, have him come and find me himself!”

Hao Yong immediately frowned and said, ”Captain Chen, you’ll have to take responsibility for your words!”

Chen Chunyang smiled and replied, ”I will certainly take responsibility for my words, but, you must also take responsibility for yours!”

”Me, take responsibility? What responsibility do I have?” Hao Yong asked, perplexed.

”You must ensure Lu Jiangong comes to see me. Otherwise, you shouldn’t go by the name Hao Yong anymore!” Chen Chunyang smiled and said, ”From now on, you might as well change your name to Chen Yong and take my surname!”

”You…” Hao Yong became furious, but seeing the group of police officers behind Chen Chunyang, he shut his mouth. He glared at Chen Chunyang with resentful eyes, contemplating how to get Lu Jiangong to deal with Chen Chunyang.

However, what he didn’t know was that Lu Jiangong was already doomed; what could he possibly do to Chen Chunyang now?

”You guys, go get his car out for me!” Hao Yong looked at Chen Chunyang with anger, gritted his teeth, and commanded the people around him to handle the situation.

A few traffic policemen looked at each other, and one of them said in a low voice, ”Director Hao, the car... the car isn’t here...”

”Not here? Then where is it?” Hao Yong asked, puzzled.

A traffic policeman said awkwardly, ”Xiao Cheng took it out for a spin and hasn’t returned yet...”

Chen Chunyang, standing aside, overheard this conversation and immediately widened his eyes in anger, saying, ”What? You took a detained car out for personal use? Who gave you the authority to misuse detained vehicles like this?”

Hao Yong felt extremely embarrassed; the previous matters could still be somehow explained, but now that the traffic police had taken out a detained car for personal use, there was really no way to justify it.

”Chen, what are you shouting about!” Hao Yong was embarrassed and infuriated, and exclaimed, ”Let me tell you, this is the traffic police department. Do you believe I’ll call Deputy Director Lu right now!”

Chen Chunyang directly handed his cellphone to Hao Yong, saying, ”Call!”

Hao Yong, also enraged, took the phone and dialed Lu Jiangong’s number, saying furiously, ”Chen, I’m telling you, you’ll regret this!”

The phone rang several times before it finally connected, and Lu Jiangong’s tired voice came from the other end, ”Hello.”

”Director Lu, something has happened!” Upon hearing Lu Jiangong’s voice, Hao Yong felt like an aggrieved child finally finding a parent to complain to, and quickly relayed the situation. At the end, he exaggerated, ”Director Lu, everybody knows that you’re in charge of the traffic police department. Now the captain of the criminal investigation team is deliberately causing trouble here, he is clearly disrespecting you!”

In the past, anyone in Xishan City who dared to disrespect Lu Jiangong was practically seeking death. However, this time, after hearing Hao Yong’s words, Lu Jiangong did not react as expected with anger but simply sighed and said, ”Do as they say, follow the proper procedures and cooperate with them!”

”What?” Hao Yong was momentarily stunned. What did Lu Jiangong mean by saying this? Had he compromised with Kong Anwu, how could that be possible?

Hao Yong pressed, ”But… but he’s going to arrest us!”

”Then let him arrest you!” Lu Jiangong said impatiently. After such a big incident last night, he was already struggling to protect himself, and these traffic police staff were still causing him trouble, it was like rubbing salt into his wounds.

”What?” Hao Yong was dumbfounded, and before he could say anything more, Lu Jiangong had hung up the phone.

”How about it? Is Director Lu coming or not?” Chen Chunyang looked at Hao Yong mockingly. Seeing Hao Yong was speechless, he couldn’t help but sneer, ”It’s ridiculous that you’re part of the police system, not knowing about such a big incident last night. You truly deserve to die. At this time, you’re still running headfirst towards the muzzle. Hmph, I really want to see how many of you in the traffic police squad will be able to continue coming into work!”

Hao Yong looked up at Chen Chunyang and asked, ”What… what happened last night?”

Chen Chunyang replied, ”Lu Jiangong has fallen!”

”Ah?” Hao Yong exclaimed in shock again. If someone had said this to him before, he would never have believed it. But thinking of Lu Jiangong’s listless voice on the phone just now, Hao Yong had no choice but to believe this was true. Yet, Lu Jiangong was known as the real power broker of the Xishan City police force—how could he crumble so quickly? What exactly had happened here?

The traffic officers next to him saw Hao Yong’s expression and realized that this time the trouble was real. They were all shivering with fright. Despite their usual arrogance and high-and-mighty attitude, faced with the actual risk of being fired, they all deflated.

Ye Qing watched all of this calmly from the sidelines, greatly satisfied with how Chen Chunyang had handled the situation. Those traffic officers indeed needed a thorough shake-up; otherwise, who knows what they would have done in the future. Now that Liu Changping had come to Xishan City, it seemed he was ready to sort out the issues here—starting with a clean-up of the police system to weed out all the bad apples.

In the end, Hao Yong lost his nerve and was no longer defiant. He obediently followed orders and called Xiao Cheng, telling him to drive Ye Qing’s car back.

Xiao Cheng, oblivious to the situation, drove the car into the yard, came in with the keys in hand, and yelled, ”Director Hao, what’s so urgent? I was just meeting a girl for a blind date. The car was performing really well today; I almost had it in the bag, and you called me back. If I can’t get married because of this, Director Hao, you’re going to be responsible!”

This Xiao Cheng was the same arrogant traffic officer who had grabbed Ye Qing by the collar and spoken rudely to him last time. He even claimed that if Ye Qing managed to get his car back, he would take Ye Qing’s last name.

Seeing him like this made Chen Chunyang furious. He waved his hand and ordered, ”Take him away!”

Several police officers went over and pinned Xiao Cheng to the ground. Xiao Cheng was greatly surprised and exclaimed, ”What’s this? What’s happening? Who are you guys? I’m a traffic officer, a legitimate traffic officer, what are you doing?”

”On duty, engaging in personal affairs, using impounded vehicles for personal use, and having an extremely poor attitude with the public—it’s all gross misconduct, a serious dereliction of duty!” Chen Chunyang coldly said, ”It’s people like you that I will personally request the department to expel!”

Xiao Cheng looked surprised at Chen Chunyang, then looked at Hao Yong and the others next to him and asked, ”What... what’s going on?”

”Ah!” Hao Yong sighed and turned his head to Ye Qing.

As soon as Xiao Cheng saw Ye Qing, his expression immediately changed and he angrily said, ”It’s you again, you bastard, you motherf—”

”Shut up!” Before Xiao Cheng could finish, Chen Chunyang cut him off sharply, ”I warn you, watch your language. This Mr. Ye is a friend of Director Liu from the Dong Province Police Department!”

”Ah?” Xiao Cheng’s eyes went wide in disbelief, including Hao Yong and the rest, who all looked at Ye Qing in amazement.

No matter how powerful Lu Jiangong was, he couldn’t compare to Liu Changping. Ye Qing was a friend of Liu Changping’s. With such status, how could they, mere traffic officers, afford to provoke him?

Ye Qing gave Xiao Cheng a look, slowly shook his head, walked over, took the car keys, and asked, ”Now, may I take my car back?”

Xiao Cheng looked at Ye Qing dumbfounded, at a loss for words, while Hao Yong quickly said, ”Yes, of course, Mr. Ye, please go ahead, go right ahead!”

Without paying them any further attention, Ye Qing took the car keys and walked out of the hall. The traffic officers looked at each other in dismay and regret. If only they had known Ye Qing’s true identity earlier, who would have dared to provoke him?

Driving away from the traffic police station, Ye Qing took Chen Chunyang to the highway tollgate. Just as they arrived, he encountered the same group of scammers, including a few police officers, who were extorting a car from out of town. It seemed these people were unaware of last night’s tumult and were still brazen enough to engage in such acts.

Seeing this, Chen Chunyang’s face turned green. He immediately commanded his subordinates to catch all the scammers and police officers involved, preparing to take them back for serious processing.

At noon, Ye Qing and Lin Dade’s family went to a restaurant, where Fang Yiming and his girlfriend Xiao Man also joined. The lunch was primarily a gesture of gratitude from Liu Changping, so the leaders of Xishan City were notably absent, with only Zhou Bolong accompanying.

Lin Dade, Fang Yiming, and their families were finally made aware of Liu Changping and Zhou Bolong’s true positions, and they were all surprised. Fortunately, Liu Changping was very amiable, and although Zhou Bolong had a quick temper, his straightforwardness and occasional swearing brought a sense of warmth and familiarity to everyone. As a result, the lunch was lively and pleasant, with Liu Changping personally expressing gratitude to Lin Dade’s family and Fang Yiming.

During the meal, Zhou Guiting, no, she should now be called Liu Guiting, also came to sit for a while. She specifically came to thank Lin Dade’s family and Fang Yiming. She was still very weak and couldn’t stay long, but she also discussed an important matter with Lin Dade’s family—asking them to consider moving to Dongzhou.

Liu Guiting would undoubtedly follow her father Liu Changping to work in Dongzhou, and Zhou Bolong had a daughter in business. He had already arranged for Liu Guiting to work with his daughter once she returned. Liu Guiting invited Lin Dade’s family to go there for two reasons: to show her gratitude and because she had few friends in Dongzhou. Lin Dade and his wife were her closest friends, and their presence would make her future endeavors easier.

For Lin Dade and his wife, hard work in Xishan City only led to a modest living. With such a great opportunity now before them, including a job for Wang Cui, and a promised monthly salary of no less than five thousand for Lin Dade from Zhou Bolong—much higher than their income in Xishan—they agreed without hesitation and were very pleased to accept the offer.

Undoubtedly, with the move to Dongzhou, Lin Dade’s family would finally be able to lead a better life, a case of good deeds finally paying off!
