Urban Martial Saint

Lin Dade offered a smile and pleaded, ”Hei, please, I’m begging you, don’t... don’t beat her and the child anymore...”

Hei glared angrily and cursed, ”Fuck your mother, what the hell has this got to do with you? Won’t leave, will you? Won’t leave, will you? If you don’t leave, I’ll beat you too!”

As he spoke, Hei lifted his foot and kicked towards Lin Dade. Lin Dade couldn’t dodge at all and was sent retreating several steps back by the kick, landing directly on the ground.

”Brother Lin!” Zhou Guiting stood up, wanting to help Lin Dade up, but was dragged away by the hair by a man.

”Hit them! Beat them to death!” Zhang Xia shouted loudly from the side.

”Mommy, Mommy, please don’t hit my mom, don’t hit my mom...” Ding Ding cried, clinging tightly to Zhou Guiting, refusing to let go even at the risk of death, her tiny fingernails all bloody. Zhou Guiting held her in her arms, afraid of her getting touched by anyone, willing to protect her with her life.

Hei and a few others surrounded them, and upon seeing the situation, Hei turned his head and asked Zhang Xia, ”What about your niece?”

”Hit her too!” Zhang Xia said through gritted teeth, ”If she dies, it’s on me!”

At the news, several thugs immediately surrounded Zhou Guiting in the middle, some of them even pulled out weapons.

Watching from the side, Lin Dade’s eyes were about to split with fury, and he let out a furious roar, ”Fuck your ancestors, I’m going to fight you all!”

Lin Dade grabbed a wooden shovel nearby and was about to charge forward, but someone directly caught his wrist and snatched the shovel away.

Turning his head, Lin Dade saw that the person who had taken his shovel was Ye Qing.

”I’ve got this!” Ye Qing tossed aside the wooden shovel and bellowed, ”Stop!”

His shout thundered like an explosion, startling everyone on the scene. Everyone turned to look at Ye Qing. Lin Dade, somewhat bewildered, hastily grabbed Ye Qing and whispered, ”Young Brother Ye, these are underworld figures, we can’t afford to provoke them. This is our matter, let me handle it. Don’t get yourself involved!”

Ye Qing ignored him and walked slowly into the crowd under everyone’s gaze, his eyes coldly fixed on the stunned Zhang Xia, and he said incomely, ”I’m giving you a chance to leave now!”

Zhang Xia was startled for a moment, then burst into laughter, ”Who the fuck do you think you are? Dare to speak to me like that? Do you know who I am? Do you know who my brother is? Are you tired of living?”

”Leave, or not?” Ye Qing’s voice was still chilling.

”Fuck your mother, beat him to death for me!” Zhang Xia bellowed. With a wave of Hei’s hand, two men charged towards Ye Qing.

”So you won’t leave!” Ye Qing’s face chilled over, and his eyes instantly turned icy cold. As one man was about to reach him, Ye Qing suddenly turned around and landed a solid right punch on the man’s face.

In the past several days, Ye Qing’s body had almost completely recovered. His strength needed no further mention, and with one punch, he sent the man flying without any suspense. Like a punching bag, the man slammed into a nearby wall and then fell down, blood oozing from his mouth, nose, and eyes, unable to get up!

His punch shocked everyone present, Lin Dade especially wide-eyed, staring at Ye Qing in amazement and tremblingly said, ”You... you’re actually a martial arts expert...”

Ye Qing held up his right fist and glared coldly at the other men, shouting, ”All of you, come at me!”

The men looked at each other hesitantly, none daring to step forward. They were restrained not by anything else but the sheer brutality of Ye Qing’s punch. Who had ever seen someone punched flying like that!

Seeing no one approach, Ye Qing walked slowly towards the equally frozen Zhang Xia.

”You... what are you going to do... don’t... don’t come over here...” Zhang Xia, shaking all over with fear, stepped back while stammering, ”I... I warn you, my brother is Zhang Jun, he’s the captain of the third team at the Municipal Police Bureau’s South City Branch. If you touch me, he... he definitely won’t let you off. Also... also, my sister-in-law is the precious daughter of Deputy Director Lu of the city bureau, you... you...”

Ye Qing approached her, reached out and grabbed her neck, and pinned her against the wall. Zhang Xia struggled to breathe under his grip, but Ye Qing showed no mercy, slapping her face over and over again until, after a dozen or so slaps, he let go and said coldly, ”If you’re not convinced, let Lu himself come find me!”

Zhang Xia’s cheeks swelled up with the slaps, but at that moment, she had forgotten the pain, overwhelmed by fear. Looking at Ye Qing, she screamed shrilly and fled in panic.

With Zhang Xia gone, the rest of the men dispersed as well, not a single one daring to linger.

The crowd around was looking at this scene in astonishment; they had grown accustomed to those people swaggering around here, and many were angry but dared not speak out. Who could have imagined that they would see the day when these bullies met their match? Ye Qing’s intervention was a triumphant moment indeed. Watching Ye Qing standing there like a Heavenly God, the crowd eventually burst into thunderous applause after a moment of stunned silence.

”Young Brother Ye, you’re impressive!” Lin Dade hurried over, admiring Ye Qing, and said, ”I had no idea you were a martial arts master. That punch just now was amazing, how did you do it, to send someone flying that far?”

Ye Qing smiled faintly and turned to look at the mother and daughter beside him. Zhou Guiting got up, limping towards Ye Qing; she had intended to thank him. However, as soon as she got close to Ye Qing, her legs gave way, and she fainted.

Ye Qing quickly caught her. Zhou Guiting’s clothes, which she had put on hastily, had become disheveled during the shuffle with the crowd, exposing her beautiful shoulders. Ye Qing saw it clearly: there was a scar on her left shoulder, probably from a long time ago.

Without time to think further, Ye Qing quickly said, ”Brother Lin, help me!”

”Help with what?” Lin Dade was still somewhat dazed.

”Take her to the hospital!” Ye Qing urged.

Lin Dade snapped back to reality, hurriedly pushed his tricycle over, and Ye Qing placed Zhou Guiting on the tricycle. Lin Dade started it up and rushed toward the hospital.

”Mom, Mom!” Behind them came the heart-wrenching cries of Ding Ding. Ye Qing realized something was wrong, turned his head, and saw Ding Ding crying and chasing after them.

Ye Qing quickly asked Lin Dade to stop the tricycle and lifted Ding Ding onto it. The moment the little girl was up, she clung tightly to Zhou Guiting’s clothing, as if the slightest loosening of her grip would separate them forever.

Seeing the little girl like this, Ye Qing’s heart also ached, and his anger towards the Zhang family intensified. He could hardly imagine how callous Zhang Jun must be to abandon his own wife and daughter, even sending someone to beat them. Listening to what Zhang Xia said earlier, they didn’t care about Ding Ding’s well-being at all, they even wanted to hit Ding Ding – how ruthless these people were!

”Hey, wait for me, me too!” Old Wang Ba was shouting as he chased after them, but Ye Qing had genuinely forgotten about him.

After chasing for a bit and seeing the tricycle get farther away, Old Wang Ba couldn’t help feeling sullen: ”Damn it, just showing off and forgot about me, that’s so heartless!”

Ye Qing and Lin Dade together took Zhou Guiting to the hospital. As soon as they entered, they were stopped by a nurse asking them to register. Ye Qing had seen this scenario many times, so he directly pulled out a stack of money and threw it over. Without a word, the nurse immediately called for doctors to come over, arranged a room and began treatment, all in one smooth process, with remarkable speed.

Lin Dade was dumbfounded by the side. In the past, when he came here, just registering and waiting in line would take half a day, never this efficient. He couldn’t help but be astonished; having money really did make things go round, and it was absolutely true!

”Young Brother Ye, you should probably leave…” After making sure everything was taken care of, Lin Dade spoke softly to Ye Qing: ”You’ve hurt people from the Zhang family, they definitely won’t let you go. Zhang Jun is a police officer, and behind him is Deputy Director Lu’s support. You can’t fight them.”

This was indeed the most troublesome issue. If the other party were just some underworld thugs, Ye Qing wouldn’t be afraid at all. But with official backing, Ye Qing was really out of options. This was Xishan City, he was unfamiliar with the place and couldn’t just take on people. Most importantly, Ye Qing still had a lot of unfinished business. If he got caught by the police, he would be done for!

”If you stay here, aren’t you in danger too?” Ye Qing asked.

”Ah, what could happen to me?” Lin Dade laughed: ”I didn’t lay a hand on anyone, and besides, I’m just a poor bloke; they wouldn’t bother with me. At most, I’d get locked up for a few days, no big deal. Young Brother Ye, you are a good man, they must not catch you, or there will be trouble!”

Ye Qing clenched his jaw and said, ”Then please take care of them for me. Don’t worry, if anything happens to you, I’ll definitely help you out!”

”With your word, Young Brother Ye, I feel assured!” Lin Dade smiled and said, ”It’s not a big deal, really. If I do get locked up, please take care of my wife and kids, just make sure they have something to eat.”

Although Lin Dade spoke lightly, his words carried an underlying sadness. Ye Qing patted his shoulder, saying, ”Don’t worry!”

Ye Qing handed Lin Dade some money to keep for Zhou Guiting’s treatment, knowing full well how exorbitant the hospital fees could be. He made sure to leave enough money.

After giving Lin Dade a few instructions, Ye Qing turned and walked over to Ding Ding. Ding Ding stood motionless at the entrance of the ward. The door was not closed tightly; there was a gap just wide enough to see inside. Ding Ding’s face was full of concern, tears brimmed in her beautiful eyes. On that hospital bed was her only relative, her only hope. She had no choice but to stand guard and wait for the outcome.

Ye Qing sighed softly, gently stroked Ding Ding’s hair, and was about to stand up and leave when he heard a voice from the ward, ”The patient has an inflamed wound at the back of her neck, and there is a mole here. Is it possible to remove the necrotic tissue without disturbing this mole?”

Ye Qing’s heart skipped a beat at the mention of a mole at the back of the neck!

In that instant, Ye Qing involuntarily thought back to when he caught Zhou Guiting, recalling the old scar he saw on her left shoulder. Now, a mole at the back of her neck as well? Could it be such a coincidence?
