Urban Martial Saint

When these police saw the fat man and the skinny man surrender, they thought everything was under control, never expecting that under the aim of a dozen gun barrels, these two dared make such a bold move. By the time the police reacted, it was already too late. The two policemen were controlled by the fat man and the skinny man, shielding them with their bodies. The remaining police, wary of hurting their own, held their guns but dared not to fire.

”What are you trying to do? Let them go quickly. Do you know how severe a crime it is to take police hostage?” The police leader shouted loudly, trying to scare them off with the severity of their crimes. Unfortunately, these two were desperate criminals who were not at all afraid of such consequences.

The fat man used a policeman to block the doorway, then turned to Old Wang Ba and said, ”Eighth Master, you go first!”

”I can’t leave!” Old Wang Ba shook his head, glancing at Zhou Guiting who was still unconscious on the sickbed. He was in a predicament, needing to keep Zhou Guiting safe here until Liu Changping arrived; only then would his mission be considered successful. If anything happened to Zhou Guiting, his plan would fail, so everything depended on this moment!

The fat man and the skinny man looked at each other, both slightly shocked.

”Eighth Master, do you have something else you need to do?” asked the fat man curiously.

”I’m waiting for someone to come!” Old Wang Ba looked at the police outside and said sternly, ”Just hold on for now, as long as we can. Once that person arrives, there’ll be no more issues!”

Hearing this, the two criminals nodded, keeping the two policemen completely blocked at the doorway, not letting anyone from outside enter, hoping to stall for time.

”I told you, didn’t I!” shouted Zhang Jun from the side. ”These are desperate ruthless bandits. What’s the use of talking procedures with them? Just shoot them and end them, that would have been commendable. You didn’t listen to me, and now look, your own men have been taken hostage. If this gets out, I wonder where our Xishan City police will put their faces!”

The team leader was extremely frustrated. Having been a police officer for so many years, this was the first time he had encountered such a situation.

”What exactly do you want to do?” the captain shouted loudly. ”This place is surrounded by police; you can’t escape. I suggest we talk this over calmly. Let our colleagues go first, and I can ensure your safety.”

The team leader said a lot, but the fat and skinny criminals completely ignored them, just keeping the two policemen blocked at the doorway. The team leader talked himself hoarse to no avail, only to be mocked by Zhang Jun on the side.

The people tangled there for a while until finally, Zhang Xia, who was sitting nearby, couldn’t stand it any longer. She paced back and forth and said discontentedly, ”Xiaoli, this can’t go on like this. Are we supposed to stand here all night?”

Lu Xiaoli was also frowning, glaring resentfully at the team leader, and said, ”Think of a way to break in!”

The team leader looked miserable. Lu Xiaoli was Lu Jiangong’s daughter, so of course, he dare not disobey her. But with the current situation, he couldn’t just storm in. These were his men; if something went wrong here, how could he continue as a leader?

The team leader said softly, ”Miss Lu, let’s… let’s wait a bit and see the situation. People’s stamina is limited; once they tire, we might find an opportunity to rush in and rescue them!”

”Wait for them to tire? When will that be, in the year of the monkey or the year of the horse?” Zhang Xia glared at him, her contemptuous expression infuriating the team leader.

Before Zhang Jun got involved with Lu Xiaoli, he was nothing in front of him, let alone his family. Now that Zhang Jun was involved with Lu Xiaoli, even Zhang Jun’s family didn’t regard him as their captain, which was hard for anyone to accept.

But as much as he was irritated, he dared not say anything. The team leader looked at Lu Xiaoli and whispered, ”Miss Lu, the situation tonight is unique. We must ensure our colleagues’ safety before we can proceed with anything else. I’ll try my best to find a way, please don’t worry; this won’t take too long!”

”It’s already been so long, isn’t that long enough?” Zhang Xia glanced at him and said, ”Forget it, forget it, forget it. I guess you can’t be counted on. You say you people are so narrow-minded; if you can’t charge through the front door, can’t you think of another way to go in?”

”Another way in?” the team leader looked towards the sickroom and said, ”This is the third floor, and the windows have grilles. It’s not easy to get in. Besides, with hostages in their hands, we can’t act rashly to avoid getting our people hurt!”

”You’re just stubborn!” said Zhang Xia, waving her hand. ”What I mean is, if they dare to use hostages to threaten us, why can’t we threaten them in the same way?”

”What do you mean?” Zhang Jun, Lu Xiaoli, and the team leader all turned to look at Zhang Xia. ”We don’t have any hostages, do we?”

”No hostages? Can’t you find some?” Zhang Xia glared back. ”Haven’t you realized yet? These three people are clearly helping that wretched Zhou Guiting; she must have found them to help her.”

”You mean to use Zhou Guiting to threaten them?” said the team leader. ”But Zhou Guiting is still in the sickroom!”

Zhang Xia glared at him and said, ”Zhou Guiting is in the sickroom, but, don’t Zhou Guiting also have a daughter? Haven’t you noticed her daughter isn’t in the sickroom and hasn’t appeared at all? She’s a perfect hostage!”

Hearing this, the team leader’s expression changed suddenly, and he quickly turned to look at Zhang Jun beside him. Zhou Guiting’s daughter was Zhang Jun’s daughter and Zhang Xia’s niece. That Zhang Xia could suggest using her little niece as a hostage showed her true ruthlessness!

Lu Xiaoli was also looking at Zhang Jun, who seemed a bit embarrassed and said, ”This is also good, since it’s for the sake of solving the case, making some sacrifices. In this case, it’s better for you to handle this affair, and I’ll just avoid showing up here, right?”

Lu Xiaoli frowned slightly and said, ”Is it that you’re inconvenient to show up, or you can’t bear to see your own daughter being taken as a hostage?”

Seeing Lu Xiaoli getting angry, Zhang Jun became somewhat flustered and hurriedly said, ”How could that be? I have no feelings for them anymore. Xiaoli, you are the only one in my heart, there’s no room for a second person. It’s just that, if I stayed here and word got out, it would sound bad. Xiaoli, would you bear to let me be cursed by so many people?”

Listening to what Zhang Jun said, the captain almost vomited, but Lu Xiaoli felt very satisfied. She nodded and said, ”Jun, you’re right. Alright, you go and rest for a while, I can handle this matter!”

”Xiaoli, I’ll stay with you!” Zhang Xia rubbed her hands eagerly as she stood by Lu Xiaoli. This woman, in her climb up the ladder, didn’t hesitate to abandon even her blood relations, which was truly despicable.

Zhang Jun walked away, and Lu Xiaoli immediately ordered several policemen to find Ding Ding.

Ding Ding was still at the nursing station and was easily found and carried over by the policemen.

Ding Ding didn’t know what was happening, but seeing Zhang Xia, her little face suddenly twitched, showing nothing but fear and panic. This so-called aunt had never provided any kinship or warmth, only memories akin to nightmares.

”Hehehe...” Zhang Xia ignored Ding Ding’s fear and walked over with a cold laugh, grabbing and lifting her by the arm without explanation.

”Xiaoli, this is enough!” Zhang Xia brought Ding Ding to the door; Ding Ding’s tender arm was almost dislocated, but she didn’t even glance at Ding Ding.

Women are jealous, and Lu Xiaoli was no different. Seeing Ding Ding, she was naturally reminded of the affair between Zhang Jun and Zhou Guiting, which immediately infuriated her. She reached out and grabbed Ding Ding by the ear, pulling her to her side.

”Auntie, it hurts...” Ding Ding couldn’t help but cry out in pain.

”Hurting? That’s right!” Zhang Xia kicked Ding Ding once from behind, saying, ”Cry! Cry loudly!”

Feeling the pain, Ding Ding couldn’t help but burst out crying, attracting the attention of Old Wang Ba in the hospital room.

”Damn!” Old Wang Ba couldn’t help but curse; he knew what was happening outside without even looking.

”Ding Ding, Ding Ding...” Meanwhile, Zhou Guiting, who had been half-asleep on the hospital bed, awoke alarmed. A mother’s connection with her child is strong. Her daughter’s crying instantly woke her up!

”Ding Ding!” Zhou Guiting sat up sharply, tearing off the IV tube, and jumped out of bed like a madwoman, rushing towards the door.

”Hey, hey, hey, don’t be impulsive, calm down!” Old Wang Ba hurriedly stopped her, saying urgently, ”Wait here; I’ll go and rescue your daughter. Don’t be impulsive!”

”Please, save my daughter, save my Ding Ding, please...” Zhou Guiting was almost kneeling on the floor, sobbing and pleading.

”Leave it to me!” Old Wang Ba ran to the door, looked up, and there was Lu Xiaoli also at the door, holding Ding Ding by the ear, and shouting loudly, ”Zhou Guiting, you wench, get out here. If you don’t come out, I’m tearing your daughter’s ear off!”

”Don’t you have any sense of public decency?” Old Wang Ba yelled, ”She’s just a child, how can you be so harsh? Let the child go first, and we can talk properly!”

”Get lost, let Zhou Guiting come out and talk!” Lu Xiaoli shouted back loudly.

”If you don’t want Zhou Guiting to come out, that’s fine too; let them release my colleague, and then we can give you the child back!” the captain joined in.

Old Wang Ba said, ”As police, you dare take a child as a hostage; I see your crimes are no lighter than ours!”

”Hmph, I’m not a police officer; I don’t have so many rules!” Lu Xiaoli said, and backhanded Ding Ding a few slaps, loudly demanding, ”Zhou Guiting, are you coming out or not?”

Ding Ding, as if she also knew what was happening, bit her lip and endured the pain, no longer crying. Lu Xiaoli hit her a few more times, and seeing she wasn’t reacting, was starting to lose her temper. Just as she was thinking of another approach, Zhang Xia inexplicably took out a syringe and plunged it into Ding Ding’s arm!

”Ah!” Ding Ding finally couldn’t hold back any longer and cried out in pain.
