Ye Qing retrieved the business proposal rejected by Lin Corporation from Mu Qingrong and read it from start to finish.

The outline of this business proposal was his idea, and the general direction had already been set. In theory, as long as anyone else followed the outline set by Ye Qing, it should be an excellent business proposal.

However, after reading the business proposal, Ye Qing’s brows furrowed deeply.

This business proposal had completely deviated from the framework he had initially created. It could even be said that it was a completely different matter from what he had originally planned, with most parts being thoroughly revised. Ye Qing could hardly recognize it as having been based on his previous outline.

It was no wonder that Lin Corporation had abandoned it. The business proposal had strayed from the outline set by Ye Qing, lacked any innovation, and was done even worse. How could such a proposal be chosen by Lin Corporation?

Wang Xuan was the one who had ’perfected’ this proposal, and many parts highlighted his design philosophy. Clearly, Wang Xuan had deliberately modified the proposal, wanting to turn it into his own work product completely. But he was too arrogant and lacked the necessary skills. His revisions to the proposal backfired, causing the company to lose the business opportunity.

Wang Xuan was shameless enough, having altered the proposal himself and causing it to miss the mark. Yet, in front of Mu Qingrong just now, he had shifted the blame onto Ye Qing, complaining that there was something wrong with Ye Qing’s proposal.

Ye Qing overturned the proposal ’perfected’ by Wang Xuan and prepared to make a brand new one according to his initial design ideas. He had a good understanding of the project, and he still remembered the former outline, so he was able to work on this proposal very quickly. Before it was time to leave work, he had already written it out.

Mu Qingrong went to the factory in the afternoon, and Ye Qing had no intention of showing her the proposal. When it was time to finish work, he put the proposal on his person and went downstairs.

Since Ye Qing had come to work, Old Wang Ba naturally couldn’t follow him up. However, the wretch kept himself busy by setting up a stall in an alley next to the building. When Ye Qing went to find him, Old Wang Ba was in the middle of fortune-telling for a middle-aged, plump woman.

”Your fate is afflicted by romantic entanglements – this year, the Red Luan star is active, and you’re fated to face a love calamity that you cannot escape!”

Old Wang Ba was particularly animated, while the plump woman looked on, full of anticipation, asking, ”A love calamity, what sort of ordeal would this be?”

Old Wang Ba said, ”Actually, it’s not much of an ordeal at all. I see that your marriage line will be settled this year. It looks like if handled properly, this love calamity could very well end with you entering the grave of marriage.”

”That’s a good thing, isn’t it? How could that be considered an ordeal?” the plump woman rushed to say, her face clearly displaying an unfulfilled desire – it seemed she wasn’t married yet.

Old Wang Ba: ”I told you, didn’t I? You’re about to enter the grave of marriage. Consider how carefree your days are while single. Once you’re besieged by matrimony, how will you be carefree anymore?”

”I’m not afraid!” she declared resolutely, asking eagerly, ”Are you sure I can really get married this year?”

”Er...” Old Wang Ba furrowed his brows, feigning difficulty.

The plump woman immediately grew anxious, imploring, ”Sir, is... is there something still uncertain?”

”I just said, didn’t I? If handled properly, it’s almost certain you’ll enter the mausoleum - er, hall of marriage. But if mishandled, this marriage won’t just fall through, you’ll lose this romantic calamity too. You could even end up with nothing, both in love and wealth, and your lover could become someone else’s lover ah!” As Old Wang Ba spoke, he sighed and shook his head as if truly regretful.

”Who dares take my man, I’ll cripple her!” the plump woman clenched her fists, which were as large as sandbags, her glare fierce and intimidating, making even Old Wang Ba shudder. If not for the conman’s hardened nerves, he probably would be laying low by now.

”Er, this can be avoided as well,” said Old Wang Ba with a smile, ”I have a Golden Glimmer Pixiu here, consecrated by a high monk from Mount Wutai. As long as you wear it, it can turn disaster into blessing. The romantic tribulation will turn into good marriage fate. Not only will your marriage fate not be stolen, but you will also find a satisfactory husband!”

Old Wang Ba was still holding that Golden Crystal Pixiu whose red string had turned black, the kind you could wholesale for two yuan each. But in the plump woman’s eyes, it seemed as precious as the red thread of the Matchmaker God.

”How much? I’ll take it!” said the plump woman, ready to make a purchase.

”How generous!” Old Wang Ba gave her a thumbs up, saying, ”This Golden Glimmer Pixiu is a priceless treasure. However, I feel a connection with you, and you indeed need it. Tell you what, give me three thousand yuan and the Golden Glimmer Pixiu is yours!”

The plump woman didn’t hesitate, handing over three thousand yuan to Old Wang Ba and gladly accepting the Golden Glimmer Pixiu as if it were a treasured artifact.

”Sir, is this thing really useful?” the plump woman asked nervously. She didn’t care about the money; what mattered to her was her destined romance.

Old Wang Ba spoke with great conviction: ”First, this is a Golden Glimmer Pixiu, a sentient sacred object, not a mere thing. Second, it’s a sacred object blessed by high monks from Mount Wutai, do you think it would be useless?”

Immediately, the plump woman felt much relieved, she repeatedly thanked Old Wang Ba and walked away happily, clutching the Golden Glimmer Pixiu.

At this point, Old Wang Ba saw Ye Qing standing at the entrance of the alley and hurriedly packed up his stall to run out.

”Let’s go, let’s go!” Old Wang Ba dragged Ye Qing away with quick steps. Only after they had left the square did he cautiously look back and said, ”We can’t come to this place anymore!”

Indeed, if that fat woman couldn’t wait for that so-called Peach Blossom Tribulation this year, she would certainly come back to tear him apart!

Ye Qing had no choice but to put up with Old Wang Ba’s deceptive tricks, but he didn’t have much dislike for swindlers. In Ye Qing’s mind, swindlers were somewhat better than thieves. Because most of the people who got cheated by swindlers were likely greedy themselves. Without greed, how would they fall prey to the swindlers in the first place?

As for thieves, they would steal from many innocent people. Of course, theft could be a minor or serious matter, and if Ye Qing encountered it, he would only mete out some punishment. But those who treated other people’s lives as a joke, Ye Qing would never go easy on them!

That evening, Old Wang Ba went to Ye Qing’s place to mooch off another meal. The old bastard, even after earning three thousand yuan in the afternoon, showed up empty-handed, not even bringing sunflower seeds. Huo Pingping was quite displeased with his freeloading, and had it not been for him curing Ye Qing’s illness, she would’ve probably kicked him out long ago.

After dinner, Old Wang Ba shamelessly tried to linger and stay over, but was chased out by a furious Huo Pingping who beat him up. Old Wang Ba lingered at the door for a while, whining. Seeing that nobody would open the door for him, he finally had to slap his butt and head home.

After drinking another bowl of herbal medicine that night, Ye Qing could vaguely feel the flow of air circulating within his body. He could feel his Internal Breath, which meant that he was not far from a complete recovery.

Ye Qing reviewed the project proposal twice from start to finish that night, made supplements and revisions, and felt completely assured that there were no more issues before he could relax.

Getting up early the next day, Ye Qing ran a lap around the community. Although he was panting heavily, he felt much better compared to the day before.

In the morning, he reported to the company and left without staying long. Ye Qing then went straight to Lin Corporation with the project proposal in hand.

In Lin Corporation, inside Zhang Daping’s office, a coquettish woman was sitting on Zhang Daping’s lap, while one of his plump hands constantly roamed over the woman’s body.

”Manager Zhang, how about our company’s project proposal?” the woman asked in a seductive voice, rendering Zhang Daping nearly boneless.

Zhang Daping smiled lecherously, his hands never stopping, and said, ”Don’t worry, just cooperate with me, and make a good assessment of your company’s project proposal. Your company’s business will definitely have no problems!”

The woman hugged Zhang Daping’s hefty head and said in a coquettish tone, ”Our manager was asking me about it today. If you don’t hurry up and handle it for me, I’ll get scolded when I go back!”

Zhang Daping replied with a chuckle, ”Don’t fear him. If he dares to scold you, I’ll make sure he won’t get any business in Shenchuan City ever again!”

The woman immediately pouted and said, ”I don’t want that! If we can’t get business, I’ll starve to death!”

Zhang Daping laughed proudly and said, ”Hahaha, with me around, you’ll definitely have a better life than him!”

”Really?” The woman was overjoyed, hugged Zhang Daping’s neck, and sweetly said, ”Then can I work at Lin Corporation?”

”The company doesn’t have any plans to hire for the moment. If we do in the future, I’ll think of a way to get you in!” Zhang Daping replied nonchalantly, but inwardly he was sneering. He regarded the woman as nothing more than a fling and would never consider keeping her by his side.

”Really? You’re the best!” The woman was ecstatic, pressing Zhang Daping’s head into her chest as a way of thanking him.

Zhang Daping instantly got spirited, his hands wandering up and down, and it wasn’t long before the woman began to moan softly.

As the atmosphere inside was turning steamy, the phone on the desk rang inopportunely.

Zhang Daping looked at the phone irritably and cursed, then picked up the receiver and barked, ”Who is it!”

”Manager Zhang, Mr. Ye from Yunchi Group would like to see you!” a polite voice from the front desk came through the phone.

”Yunchi Group?” Zhang Daping frowned, remembering the group and knowing full well that Ye Qing was a friend of Lin Tian You.

Zhang Daping didn’t dare to offend Lin Tian You, so he had given Ye Qing the qualification to bid last time. However, he was unsatisfied with Ye Qing because of that, and had deliberately taken Yunchi Group’s project proposal for evaluation this time. He wanted to tamper with the evaluation so that Yunchi Group would fail to get business, as a way to get even.

Unfortunately for him, Ye Qing’s draft was excellent and had passed the evaluation. Although Zhang Daping was the leader of the evaluation team, its members came from various departments, so he could not blatantly mix personal vendettas with official business.

But who would have known that the finalized project proposal from Yunchi Group would turn out worse than the draft, giving Zhang Daping the opportunity he needed to outright reject Yunchi Group.

And at this moment, with Ye Qing coming to see him, Zhang Daping immediately thought of Lin Tian You.

”Damn it, again trying to use that Lin surname to pressure me!” Zhang Daping cursed inwardly.
