Urban Martial Saint

After drinking the first bowl of herbal medicine, Ye Qing felt warm all over, and the numb sensation he had before seemed to be slowly fading away.

Ye Qing had already believed the Traitor Dealer to some extent, about seventy percent, since he could disclose the Acupoint Seeking Technique, which certainly couldn’t be faked. The effects of the herbal medicine had made him trust the Traitor Dealer another twenty percent. The remaining ten percent, he simply couldn’t believe him due to the guy’s sleaziness.

Ye Qing still didn’t have much strength in his body, but his condition had improved a lot compared to before; at least he could move his hands a little now.

This situation excited Ye Qing greatly. After recovery, he would be able to continue searching for his brother Ye Jun.

The following morning, after drinking the second bowl of herbal medicine, Ye Qing was already able to sit up by himself. His body was still very weak, but recovery was just around the corner.

Seeing Ye Qing’s good recovery, the Traitor Dealer became much more boastful than usual. In the morning after running errands for Li Yilong and coming back to the hospital, he bragged all over the corridor, telling everyone he could cure all diseases, and pointing loudly to Ye Qing’s room, he proclaimed, ”You know the one inside? Diagnosed as paralyzed, even Divine Doctor Lin couldn’t do anything.

Searched the whole world for famous doctors and none could cure him, but see, I fixed him with just two bowls of herbal medicine.”

All morning the Traitor Dealer talked away in the corridor. Close to noon, Lin Tianyou came to check on Ye Qing, and was greatly surprised. Ye Qing’s recovery indeed exceeded his expectations. At this point, his view of the Traitor Dealer changed.

At noon, Lin Tianyou specially treated the Traitor Dealer to lunch. After lunch, the fellow’s attitude was even more arrogant. When boasting to others outside, he no longer mentioned Ye Qing, but claimed that he was the one who personally taught Lin Tianyou...

Around six in the evening, before dinner, the Traitor Dealer suddenly ran back to the hospital room, hastily starting to pack things up.

”Hey, Ye Qing, where do you live?” the Traitor Dealer asked while packing.

”The Garden District, why?” Ye Qing, seeing the Traitor Dealer’s hurried manner, couldn’t help feeling puzzled.

”Pack your things, we’re getting discharged from the hospital.” The Traitor Dealer came over to help Ye Qing pack, taking everything edible.

”Why the rush?” asked Ye Qing, curious.

”You’re mostly better now, staying in the hospital costs a lot of money each day. Better to be discharged, staying here is useless to you, your key treatment is my medicine.” After packing everything, the Traitor Dealer directly went over to help Ye Qing.

Ye Qing: ”There’s no need to rush like this, Tingyun is coming over later. What if she can’t find us?”

The Traitor Dealer clamored, ”Hey, she’s not a child. If she can’t find us, won’t she know to go home?”

Ye Qing looked at the Traitor Dealer and said, ”No, you definitely have something up your sleeve!”

”No, really, there’s nothing…” the Traitor Dealer seemed a bit guilty.

”Definitely something!” Ye Qing said sternly, ”If you don’t tell me, then I’m not leaving!”

The Traitor Dealer, anxious, blurted out, ”Hey, I wouldn’t harm you!”

Ye Qing: ”That’s not good enough, you don’t tell me, I’m not going!”

”You… why are you so inflexible!” the Traitor Dealer, helpless, said: ”Alright, alright, I’ll tell you. I… I saw one of my enemies…”

”What enemy?” asked Ye Qing, frowning.

”Uh… a customer from back when I was doing business…”

Ye Qing: ”Did you scam them?”

”You can’t put it that badly, how is that scamming? That’s strategy, all is fair in war, get it? Enough talking, I already told you, let’s go quick. If they come up later, we won’t be able to escape!”

”It’s not right for you to do this, you have to face whatever it is!”

”Face what, hell, even if I had a hundred lives it wouldn’t be enough for them to beat me!” the Traitor Dealer said this unblushingly, and without further discussion, he yanked Ye Qing out the door, not taking the elevator but rushing down another staircase.

Not long after Ye Qing left, a group of people rushed into the hospital room huffing and puffing. Leading them was a fierce woman, who bellowed, ”Damn that scoundrel, claiming he could cure all diseases. My mom spent three hundred yuan for a bunch of expired Black-Boned Chicken White Phoenix Pills. If I catch him, I’ll flay and debone him for sure!”

The Traitor Dealer led Ye Qing down the stairs, hailed a cab, and headed straight for the Garden District. Once there, the Traitor Dealer first put the belongings on the ground outside, then turned to rummage through Ye Qing’s pockets.

”What are you doing?” asked Ye Qing, puzzled.

”I don’t have any change, do you have any money on you?” the Traitor Dealer asked.

Ye Qing shook his head in exasperation, ”I’m wearing a hospital gown, do you think I’d have money on me?”

”Ouch, shit, how could I have forgotten that!” the Traitor Dealer slapped his forehead, said, ”Then why the hell did I take a taxi, I should have taken the bus if I had known!”

This damn swindler, he really is stingy!

Ye Qing could already walk now and got out of the car from the other side. Anyway, he didn’t have a single cent on him, and he couldn’t care less about how the Traitor Dealer would handle it.

The Traitor Dealer was arguing with the driver for a while, and finally, the driver pulled out a wrench, and the Traitor Dealer hurriedly paid the money, sighing as he helped Ye Qing into the residential complex.

There was no one at home, and Ye Qing didn’t have his keys. The Traitor Dealer, quite professionally, took out two pieces of wire and hooked them into the door lock, prying the door open directly.

The Traitor Dealer looked around the house and said, ”Wow, the decoration is pretty nice. It’s just that the décor is a bit girly. I mean, Ye Zi, how can a big guy like you live in such a girly house?”

Ye Qing ignored him, and the Traitor Dealer didn’t feel awkward at all. After roaming around a few times, he suddenly shouted excitedly from the bathroom, ”Hey, hey, hey, Ye Zi, is there a girl living here? Why so many cosmetics? Surely they’re not yours? Don’t tell me you’re that disgusting!”

Ye Qing helplessly said, ”There are a few girls living here.”

”Huh?” the Traitor Dealer rushed out of the bathroom, looking at Ye Qing in astonishment, then suddenly said, ”Ye Zi, I’ve decided, I’m moving in to live with you!”

”Get lost!” Ye Qing replied without hesitation, ”There are no rooms left here!”

”I can just share a room with you!” the Traitor Dealer said with a sly smile.

”Impossible!” Ye Qing said straightforwardly.

Traitor Dealer: ”Then... then I can sleep in the living room...”

Ye Qing, not bothering to entertain him, said, ”If you can convince them, be my guest.”

”Don’t worry, convincing people is my forte; brother survives on this skill,” the Traitor Dealer sat in the living room, leisurely leaning on the sofa with a content look on his face, ”Don’t think I’m bragging, living in the living room is just temporary. I intend to stay here for a few days, and who knows, I might just move into one of the bedrooms.”

Ye Qing glanced at the Traitor Dealer, his sleazy appearance coupled with that lewd expression, looked extremely lascivious.

At seven thirty, Fang Tingyun and Mo Xiang rushed back. The two went to the hospital but didn’t see Ye Qing, and were quite surprised, but when they found Ye Qing at home, Fang Tingyun finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Seeing Ye Qing able to walk, Fang Tingyun was also very happy, and her attitude towards the Traitor Dealer improved a lot.

Mo Xiang, however, ignored the Traitor Dealer completely. The Traitor Dealer sneaked next to Mo Xiang and whispered, ”Teacher, let me ask you, why didn’t I see Li Yilong today after school?”

”He was detained at school!” Mo Xiang said.

Traitor Dealer asked in surprise, ”Why was he detained? What happened?”

Mo Xiang: ”He had someone else do his homework, which was very bad in nature. The homeroom teacher called his parents to the school for a joint education session!”

”Ah?” the Traitor Dealer suddenly widened his eyes, then started beating his chest and stamping his feet, ”It’s over, it’s over, there goes my money-making scheme!”

”Cut it out, doing homework for kids is not a respectable job to begin with,” Fang Tingyun poking her head out of the kitchen with some garlic shoots, said, ”Kids should learn from a young age to handle their own affairs. What you’re doing is aiding and abetting, which is as bad as inciting a crime!”

Traitor Dealer: ”How can you compare the two, I’m providing convenience. Besides, I’m earning my keep through brainpower; you think it’s easy doing homework for primary school students? The questions might not be hard, but you at least have to write like a primary schooler. If your handwriting is too good, won’t that give the game away?”

Fang Tingyun: ”With your handwriting, no need to imitate, it’s indistinguishable from a child’s!”

”What kind of a remark is that!” the Traitor Dealer was quite indignant but couldn’t come up with a rebuttal, so he could only sulk in anger.

Ye Qing was walking back and forth in the room. He could still feel a numb sensation all over his body and hadn’t regained much strength. Right now, it felt like he had just recovered from a severe illness, even getting slightly winded if he walked too fast.

However, he had only taken the Traitor Dealer’s medicine three times, and the effects were already quite impressive. Just as the Traitor Dealer had said, probably in less than a week, he would be fully recovered.

From being diagnosed as paralyzed to now being on the verge of recovery, these two days felt like a nightmare for Ye Qing. And this nightmare was awakened by that seemingly unscrupulous Traitor Dealer.

Ye Qing always felt that the Traitor Dealer was definitely not simple; he knew Third Master Li, knew about the Acupoint Seeking Technique, and could even cure his condition, which meant he surely had some real skills. But why was he so sleazy? With his capabilities, whatever he did surely wouldn’t resemble his current appearance.

What Ye Qing was most curious about was why the Traitor Dealer didn’t just walk away when he saw him at the hospital but instead came straight over to check his pulse?

Suddenly, a ringtone jolted Ye Qing from his thoughts. He answered the phone, and immediately a naive voice came through: ”Boss, it’s Xiong Zi!”
