Urban Martial Saint

The caller was none other than Black Bear!

Upon hearing his brother’s voice, Ye Qing was also excited. However, thinking about Black Bear’s early retirement, Ye Qing frowned and said in a deep voice, ”Xiong Zi, what did I tell you? How could you retire early?”

Black Bear chuckled naively, ”Captain, I know you must be very angry. But making me stay in the army is worse than killing me. I’ve just sorted out my family matters, and I’ll be heading to Shenchuan City in a couple of days to find you. Captain, if you’re angry, you can punish me then. Anyway, I’m going to follow you!”

Hearing Black Bear’s words, Ye Qing was also warmed by them; he sternly criticized him a few more times but eventually gave him his address.

After hanging up the phone, Ye Qing’s emotions were also quite stirred. The situation in Shenchuan City was far more complicated than he had imagined, and finding his brother Ye Jun was not an easy task. Boss Lin in Shenchuan City was very powerful, much stronger than Chen Wuye, whom Ye Qing had met last time. Ye Qing could face Chen Wuye alone, but absolutely could not do the same with Boss Lin.

Although Ye Qing was forceful, he understood the dynamics well. Thus, he had never told anyone about finding his brother Ye Jun. After all, there was a good chance that Ye Jun was still in Boss Lin’s custody, and there was a deep conflict between Ye Qing and Boss Lin. If Boss Lin knew the real purpose of Ye Jun’s visit to Shenchuan City, then his brother would be in danger.

Therefore, Ye Qing hadn’t even told Zhao Chengshuang, so as not to alert Lin in advance.

If Black Bear came to Shenchuan City, then Ye Qing would have an additional powerful ally. With that, there would be a better chance of confronting Boss Lin and finding his brother Ye Jun!

Before dinner, Ye Qing drank another bowl of herbal medicine. After dinner, the Traitor Dealer, shamelessly wanting to stay overnight, was kicked out the door by Huo Pingping, who had sent him back home, forcing him to leave in disgrace.

It must be said, the Traitor Dealer’s herbal medicine was very effective. The next morning, Ye Qing was still weak, but he felt much better. At least, he could now walk a few hundred meters without running out of breath.

Mu Qingrong gave Ye Qing the day off, allowing him to focus mainly on recuperating. Today, Ye Qing did not go to work; he walked around the building a few times to get used to the situation and also to exercise.

Around 10:30 am, the Traitor Dealer swaggered up again, carrying that snakeskin bag. However, upon reaching the community gate, he was stopped by the security guard.

From afar, Ye Qing saw the Traitor Dealer arguing with the security guard, frantically jumping around and shouting, but the guard refused to let him in.

The Traitor Dealer was incredibly frustrated, and when he turned and saw Ye Qing, he hurriedly waved excitedly, ”Little Ye, Little Ye, come over and get me!”

Ye Qing slowly walked over. The security guard recognized Ye Qing, glanced at him, then looked at the Traitor Dealer and asked, ”Is he your friend?”

”Yes,” Ye Qing replied, feeling somewhat embarrassed. The Traitor Dealer’s appearance was even more shocking than the day before, and being his friend required a thick skin!

”Oh…” The guard looked surprised but still stepped aside, gesturing for the Traitor Dealer to go in.

The Traitor Dealer indignantly said, ”I told you I’m not a junk collector. What’s your name? I’m going to file a complaint, you were rude to a distinguished guest!”

Ye Qing felt his face flush, hurriedly pulling the Traitor Dealer into the community, unwilling to linger there.

”Damn, looking down on people,” the Traitor Dealer grumbled, but as he reached the house, he perked up and asked, ”Little Ye, are those beauties at home?”

Ye Qing responded, ”They all went to work.”

”Ah?” The Traitor Dealer could hardly hide his disappointment and said, ”Well, I was hoping to come over and greet them.”

Ye Qing glanced at him and said, ”It’s almost eleven now; why didn’t you wait until the afternoon to come over!”

The Traitor Dealer laughed playfully, ”Actually, I’m not usually one to stay in bed late, but I picked up a job last night and got a bit late.”

”What kind of job could you pick up late at night!” Ye Qing looked at the Traitor Dealer in surprise, thinking that this guy hadn’t gone out to be a male dancer at night. What high-end taste would a wealthy woman have?

”Minor matter, minor matter, staying in line, being a figurehead,” the Traitor Dealer laughed back.

Ye Qing knew what being a figurehead meant for the Traitor Dealer; it was just about bolstering someone’s presence, nothing more.

Ye Qing sized up the Traitor Dealer and said, ”You, being a figurehead?”

”In a crowd, who’s going to notice you? It’s all about the numbers,” the Traitor Dealer replied nonchalantly, then, realizing something, he hastily added, ”What do you mean ’you, being a figurehead’? What’s wrong with that? Not only being a figurehead—I’m clear-cut in a fight too. If you don’t believe me, someday I’ll take you to the alleyway where I used to live.

Those old men there, who isn’t afraid of me!”

Ye Qing was speechless; this guy’s shamelessness really was on another level.

”By the way, what’s your name?” Ye Qing asked.

The Traitor Dealer clasped his hands together and said, ”Nice to meet you. My surname is Wang, ranked eighth, known as Old Wang Ba in the Jianghu.”

”Old Wang Ba?” Ye Qing muttered the name to himself, feeling it sounded too familiar. It took him a while to realize, Old Wang Ba, Old Wang Ba, this guy is literally an Old Tortoise!

The Trader, Old Wang Ba, having no clear concept of his name, grabbed Ye Qing’s wrist and after a moment of silence, said, ”Not bad, you’ve recovered very well. It seems the foundation that Third Master laid for you is indeed very deep!”

Recalling the times when Third Master Li had taught him boxing, where every move was accompanied by a breathing rhythm, Ye Qing hadn’t expected that the breathing rhythm taught by Third Master Li was actually the fundamental method of Inner Strength. No wonder he had been able to sense the flow of qi inside his body so quickly; it turned out Third Master Li had prepared him early on.

”What kind of person is Third Master Li, really?” Ye Qing asked softly.

Upon mentioning Third Master Li, Old Wang Ba’s face immediately showed a respectful expression and said, ”Third Master Li, of course, is a really big shot!”

”That’s like saying nothing at all. What did he do before?” Ye Qing asked.

Old Wang Ba replied, ”Now is not the time to tell you that.”

That same line again made Ye Qing curious—what kind of person was Third Master Li really, what had he done, and why did discussing him depend on timing?

”Forget it, I won’t ask about that,” Ye Qing waved his hand and said, ”By the way, when you saw me the day before yesterday, why didn’t you leave? Weren’t you afraid they’d treat you as a scammer and send you to the police station?”

”I knew you were going to ask this!” Old Wang Ba wiggled his eyebrows and carefully parted his gel-filled hair with his hand, saying, ”Now this involves a matter of fate!”

Ye Qing looked at Old Wang Ba with a pout, and Old Wang Ba glared back, saying, ”What’s with that expression? Why the pout? What I’m telling you is true, although I’m not very skilled, I do have some understanding of fate. There’s a saying that meeting someone is a matter of destiny. The fact that we’ve met twice in just a few days shows that you and I are fated.”

Ye Qing scoffed and said, ”According to what you’re saying, you should have even more fate with that elementary school student named Li Yilong!”

”Of course, he and I have a bit of a minor connection. But our situation is different than his. Don’t forget, under what circumstances you encountered me both times.” Old Wang Ba looked at Ye Qing and said, ”The first time you met me, I indeed was planning to swindle for a meal. But you kept staring at the second floor of that restaurant, almost certainly planning to go up.

If I hadn’t delayed you by a bit, you’d have gone up and probably been blown up too!”

Ye Qing was shocked inside, recalling the incident, he felt a chill in his heart. If it hadn’t been for Old Wang Ba inadvertently stopping him, his life would likely have been over.

”Meeting is a matter of fate, but being able to save a life, that’s not just fate alone. Moreover, since I saved you unintentionally, it can only mean one thing...” Old Wang Ba looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Your life was not meant to end!”

”Is that also a saying in fate?” Ye Qing wondered aloud.

”There’s an old saying, ’one’s life, two fortunes, three Feng Shui.’ Life Grid is predetermined from birth, Feng Shui is given by ancestors, and fortune is our own doing,” said Old Wang Ba. ”When you went to the restaurant to find that person, it was your own choice, which is your fortune.

And the fact that you weren’t meant to die there, so ended up being involuntarily stopped by me, that was determined by your Life Grid.”

Ye Qing scratched his head; Old Wang Ba’s words, which he would have previously dismissed as superstitious nonsense, somehow seemed believable now. After all, he had indeed escaped death just recently.

”You didn’t die then, which shows your Life Grid is very good. So, when I saw you at the hospital last time, I was curious to see what exactly your Life Grid was. Although I couldn’t see your Life Grid, I found out you had mastered the Acupoint Seeking Technique!” Old Wang Ba paused, then added, ”It’s like finding what you’ve searched hard for without effort.

I’ve been searching for Third Master for so many years, and finally, I’ve found his disciple!”

”What do you want with Third Master?” Ye Qing inquired.

Old Wang Ba sighed and said, ”Third Master once did me a great favor, and I’ve always wanted to find an opportunity to repay him. But since I couldn’t find him, I can only extend this gratitude to his descendant!”

Old Wang Ba only got serious when talking about Third Master Li, and seeing him like this, Ye Qing couldn’t help but sigh too. It had to be said, although Old Wang Ba was sleazy, he was indeed very loyal in his actions!

Ye Qing said, ”Actually, I think with the skills you have, you could make money doing almost anything. Why resort to swindling like you do now?”

Discussing his profession, Old Wang Ba reverted to his sleazy trader demeanor and slapped his thigh, saying, ”Ah, you don’t understand. I need to find Third Master, so I must keep moving, can’t stay in one place too long. Plus, I’m not doing too badly as it is, earning money just by talking—a low investment, high return profession with great prospects!”
