”Surveillance equipment,” Ye Qing answered truthfully.

Lin Tianyou continued, ”Surveillance equipment? Which areas do you mainly focus on?”

Ye Qing said, ”General residential surveillance, private surveillance, and the like.”

”Oh,” Lin Tianyou nodded, thought for a moment, and then said, ”Recently, Lin Corporation started a new construction project, and various projects are being tendered. You should give it a try.”

Ye Qing shook his head and said, ”Our company is too small; we don’t meet the tender requirements of Lin Corporation, not even qualified to bid.”

Lin Tianyou said, ”Hey, it’s just surveillance equipment; there shouldn’t be so many restrictions. As long as the product is good, the bidding qualifications aren’t important.”

”Hehe...” Ye Qing gave a wry smile. He thought so too, but the people at Lin Corporation responsible for tendering projects didn’t think the same way.

Lin Corporation’s project tender was even more important than the previous Dayue Group tender. Lin Corporation’s projects were on a much larger scale than Dayue Group’s, and with its wealth and influence, Lin Corporation had a very strong calling in Shenchuan City.

Therefore, when Lin Corporation’s project started tendering, it immediately attracted the attention of all of Shenchuan City’s major companies. Even companies from other regions hurried over, hoping to get a piece of the action.

Ye Qing heard from Liu Yuan that even mid-to-low tier enterprises like Das Group didn’t have the qualification to bid, not even the chance to sit in and observe. As for Ye Qing’s small company, it didn’t even have the qualifications to stand outside the door and watch. Thus, for Mu Qingrong, even entertaining the thought of Lin Corporation’s project was out of the question.

Lin Tianyou said, ”The surveillance equipment sector doesn’t involve a lot of capital; it is actually not that important. It’s not like it’s responsible for infrastructure or project design, which would require substantial capability. So, there shouldn’t be so many restrictions in this sector.”

Ye Qing looked at Lin Tianyou, unsure if he was just venting or if there was something else to what he was saying. It was easy for you to say, but if Lin Corporation wouldn’t give the bidding qualification, talking was useless.

After some thought, Lin Tianyou said, ”How about this—I’m quite familiar with the manager of the Lin Corporation’s project department. I’ll have a word with him, and you should be able to join the bidding without a problem.”

”This... is that really okay?” Ye Qing got a little excited. If he could bring Lin Corporation’s business to the company, it would be a huge opportunity. It wasn’t just about making money—the key was to get the company’s name out there!

”No problem,” Lin Tianyou said with a smile. ”But whether you win the bid will depend on you.”

Ye Qing said, ”I will give it my all!”

”That’s the spirit!” Lin Tianyou laughed and then said, ”Once you finish up the business with Lin Corporation, you should find some time to come back and have a good talk with me about the medical issues.”

Ye Qing nodded, ”No problem!”

After seeing Ye Qing off, Lin Tianyou immediately made a phone call.

”Uncle, I heard that your company’s new business is about to start bidding soon. What? The day after tomorrow? Why so soon? Oh, I have a friend here who deals in surveillance equipment; his company is relatively small and doesn’t qualify for the bidding. In my opinion, the requirements for surveillance equipment aren’t that high, and a small company can do it well.

Don’t worry, just giving them a bidding qualification will be enough; whether they win the bid will be up to their abilities. Okay, then could you please call Manager Zhang for me and give Yunchi Group a bidding opportunity.”

After hanging up, Lin Tianyou immediately dialed Ye Qing’s number, and at that moment, Ye Qing had not yet left the hospital.

”Ye brothers, it’s all set with Lin Corporation. Tomorrow you go to the project department and look for Manager Zhang; just say you’re from Yunchi Group,” he said.

Ye Qing hadn’t expected Lin Tianyou to act so quickly, nor to wield such influence with Lin Corporation. But then again, considering Lin Tianyou was the youngest, renowned Divine Doctor in Shenchuan City, it wasn’t surprising he had such connections.

”Brother Lin, thank you!” Ye Qing said sincerely.

Lin Tianyou laughed, ”Why the formality between us? Just remember to go there early tomorrow.”

After hanging up, Ye Qing felt much more relaxed. Since working at the company, he began to take the development of the company as his responsibility. Bringing business to the company made him happier than getting a raise.

When he returned to the company, the day was almost over. Ye Qing was now quite free; after bringing Das Group’s business, he had become a hero in the company, and naturally, no one was policing his daily activities.

Seeing Ye Qing return, Wang Xuan’s eyes were full of resentment, but he was helpless against him. As Ye Qing headed to Mu Qingrong’s office, Wang Xuan promptly stood up and followed.

Just as Mu Qingrong greeted Ye Qing, Wang Xuan hastily entered and said, ”Director Mu, I just got in touch with Manager Hao from Jinlong Company, and he seems interested in our products. What do you think? Should we follow up on it?”

Wang Xuan was stating the obvious; such matters certainly required follow-up. His purpose in asking Director Mu in front of Ye Qing was to show off, proving he was more capable and had secured another business deal.

”How big is Jinlong Company’s order volume?” Mu Qingrong asked.

Wang Xuan said, ”They need about seven to eight hundred thousand worth of goods each year; it’s a decent volume.”

”That’s pretty good; keep on top of it and try to secure that business,” said Mu Qingrong.

```
”Okay, no problem!” Wang Xuan replied with a smile but still stood in the room with no intention of leaving.
Ye Qing reported the day’s situation to Mu Qingrong, saying that the businesses he approached yielded no results. And that was exactly what Wang Xuan wanted to hear.
After hearing Ye Qing’s words, Wang Xuan immediately laughed, ”Ye Qing, you managed to secure Das Group, so how come you can’t handle these smaller companies?”
Ye Qing remained silent. Once those companies heard he was from Yunchi Group, they wouldn’t even discuss with him, let alone recover their business. The several orders Wang Xuan had given him were simply impossible to secure!
Mu Qingrong said, ”No worries, running businesses is just like that. If you can secure one out of ten companies, that’s already very impressive. You’ve exceeded your task quota for this month, and I’m very satisfied!”
Wang Xuan was inwardly cursing, but on the surface, he wore a feigned smile, ”Director Mu, Ye Qing is no ordinary salesman. In just a few days at the company, he secured such a large deal with Das Group. I think, with Ye Qing’s abilities, if he doesn’t land a business worth over a million this month, it would be a real shame, wouldn’t it, Ye Qing?”
Mu Qingrong frowned. A deal worth one million would be enough business for their company for two months. Wang Xuan seemed to be praising Ye Qing, but in fact, he was provoking him.
Fortunately, Ye Qing remained calm, showing no reaction to these words, and simply smiled it off.
A trace of displeasure flickered in Mu Qingrong’s eyes as he changed the subject, ”Manager Wang, the Jinlong Company’s business needs your full attention!”
”Of course,” Wang Xuan nodded, turned to Ye Qing, and laughed, ”Ye Qing, Lin Corporation’s bidding is about to begin. With your capabilities, you should be able to secure some projects from them, right?”
Mu Qingrong frowned. Wang Xuan was essentially slapping him in the face. Not to mention Ye Qing, even if Mu Qingrong himself went, he wouldn’t be able to get through the doors of the bidding site. As for a salesman like Ye Qing, even the doorman probably wouldn’t bother with him. Wang Xuan’s vengeful nature and narrow-mindedness were the main reasons for Mu Qingrong’s dissatisfaction with him.
Ye Qing paused for a moment before saying, ”I’ll give it a try.”
Wang Xuan had been mocking Ye Qing, but to his surprise, Ye Qing actually took him up on it. Hearing this, Mu Qingrong was taken aback while Wang Xuan burst out laughing, ”Are you really going to try? Well, that’s good, too. Young people should indeed aim high. Lin Corporation isn’t that big of a business; with your skills, you’ll definitely nail it!”
”Hard to say,” Ye Qing replied.
”I believe in you, you’ll definitely have no problems!” Wang Xuan laughed and turned to Mu Qingrong, ”Director Mu, Jinlong Group’s business is not crucial, but Lin Corporation’s business is what we need to focus on. If we land it, our company won’t need to take on any other business for a year or two!”
With a frown, Mu Qingrong said, ”Manager Wang, please have your business plan for Jinlong Group ready, and show it to me tomorrow.”
”No problem!” Wang Xuan was still smiling, patted Ye Qing’s shoulder, and left the office laughing.
Watching Wang Xuan walk away, Mu Qingrong’s brows immediately furrowed tightly. He looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Ye Qing, you don’t have to stoop to his level. That’s just how he is, he speaks without thinking.”
”I’m not stooping to his level,” Ye Qing said.
”You say you’re not, but now you’re acting out of spite!” Mu Qingrong said, ”He provokes you a little, and you talk about going to Lin Corporation. Usually, you preach about staying calm and composed to me, but it seems you’re much less composed than I am!”
Ye Qing smiled lightly without saying a word. He knew that Mu Qingrong definitely wouldn’t believe him about the Lin Corporation matter now. It seemed he would have to go to Lin Corporation tomorrow, secure the bidding rights, and only then could he convince Mu Qingrong.
”Alright, stop being upset over this,” Mu Qingrong stood up and said, ”We’re done for the day, let’s go together.”
”No, I’ve got something else to take care of,” Ye Qing replied.
”Something else? What’s that?” Mu Qingrong asked, curious.
”I’m meeting a friend,” Ye Qing whispered.
Lao Wu Restaurant was located in Beiqu, Shenchuan City, in a slightly remote area.
As the streetlights started to illuminate, a man in his forties walked up to the second floor of the restaurant and sat down by the window.
From this spot, he could see the moat below, making it arguably the best spot in the restaurant.
And this was the spot occupied daily by the man who was also the restaurant’s owner—Old Five Chen!
Ye Qing had been standing in the alley across the restaurant for over an hour, watching the man go upstairs, then Ye Qing stepped out of the alley.
Suddenly, someone blocked Ye Qing’s way, saying, ”Sir, your life’s quite fortunate!”
