Urban Martial Saint

There’s a saying that goes, ”Don’t do it and you won’t die,” which was perfectly exemplified in the behavior of this deputy.

Seeing the deputy draw his gun, Huang Bingyao’s face instantly turned green. He hadn’t even had a chance to speak when the security officer standing next to Zhao Jianjun charged like a leopard, grabbed the deputy’s wrist, and twisted it forcefully, dislocating the deputy’s wrist.

But the security officer didn’t stop there; he twisted the deputy’s arm and pushed him to the ground. With one leg pressing on his back, the security officer completely pinned the deputy down.

It was only then that Huang Bingyao managed to speak up, ”What are you doing!”

Huang Bingyao’s words were meant to stop the deputy, but now they seemed directed at the security officer.

The security officer looked up at Huang Bingyao, who realized his slip of the tongue, and hurriedly gestured with his hands and shook his head, saying, ”I was talking about him, I was talking about him. How could he randomly draw his gun in front of Commissar Zhao?”

Given Zhao Jianjun’s status and position, drawing a gun next to him was absolutely unacceptable, whether you were a police officer or anyone else. Because the deputy was a police officer, the security officer was not as harsh. If it had been an ordinary person who drew a gun, the security officer would have been allowed to kill him on the spot.

Zhao Jianjun turned his head to glance at the two men, and Huang Bingyao, sweating profusely, explained, ”Commissar Zhao, I’m truly sorry. It wasn’t intentional. But, that man pushed Captain Zhao into going to save someone. We suspected he had some ulterior motive, so we wanted to take him back for questioning. We didn’t mean any offense.”

Zhao Jianjun glanced at Ye Qing and then glared at Huang Bingyao, dropping two cold words, ”Ridiculous!”

Huang Bingyao was stunned—he didn’t know what Zhao Jianjun meant by ridiculous. Was he talking about him, or was he talking about the security officer?

Fortunately, Deng Liyang arrived in time with his people, and he couldn’t help but be surprised by the scene.

”Old Commander, how is it going?” Deng Liyang greeted Zhao Jianjun first.

”Don’t know yet!” Zhao Jianjun replied offhandedly, without even turning back to look at Deng Liyang.

”Did you contact the hospital to make sure to find the best doctor?” Deng Liyang instructed the people around him.

Zhao Jianjun waved his hand, saying, ”We’ve already contacted them. What happens next is up to his fate!”

Deng Liyang looked at Zhao Jianjun, the man who had once been so domineering on the battlefield, was now showing a face full of old age.

No matter how imposing he had been on the battlefield, no matter how high his rank was, now, he was just a father!

With a sigh in his heart, Deng Liyang offered a few words of comfort before turning to look at Huang Bingyao, ”Old Huang, what happened here?”

Huang Bingyao, with a gloomy face, recounted what had just happened.

After listening to Huang Bingyao, Deng Liyang immediately glared at him sternly and said in a deep voice, ”Ridiculous!”

This was the second time Huang Bingyao heard this remark, and he was certain that it was indeed directed at him. But he himself couldn’t understand what he had done wrong.

Seeing Huang Bingyao with a confused face, Deng Liyang felt even more dissatisfied with him, but fearing that he would cause further trouble, he said sternly, ”Given that this friend is standing here, he must be Captain Zhao’s friend. To take him back like this, if it’s not ridiculous, what is it?”

Huang Bingyao suddenly saw the light, while cold sweat covered his forehead. He had been too anxious earlier, and his mind was clouded, making such a foolish move. He actually thought of pulling Ye Qing into taking the blame. But now, thinking about it, he was simply courting death. If Ye Qing was standing here, it meant his relationship with Cheng Shuang must be good.

If he tried to make him take the blame, would Zhao Jianjun just stand by and watch?

The deputy, with a dislocated wrist twisted by the security officer, was sweating profusely from the pain but didn’t dare to utter a sound. He stepped back next to Huang Bingyao and said softly, ”Director Huang, he... he resisted arrest...”

”Get lost!” Huang Bingyao scolded him without any sympathy.

The deputy hadn’t grasped the situation yet and was astonished when scolded by Huang Bingyao, murmuring, ”Director, he...”

”Get back to the station!” Huang Bingyao not only scolded the deputy again but wished he could kick him out of sight. In this moment, you still want to pin the blame on Ye Qing? Are you damn blind to not see the situation at all?

The deputy still didn’t understand what had happened, but seeing Huang Bingyao’s ferocious look, he was frightened and hurriedly turned to run away.

Meanwhile, everyone waited outside the operating room for over an hour, until, at last, the door opened, and a doctor in a white coat came out.

”How is it?” Zhao Jianjun was the first to approach and ask, his voice slightly trembling with anxiety.

The doctor said, ”He was brought in just in time, and he’s out of danger now. However, he has several fractures and will likely need to stay in the hospital for a few months.”

Everyone present breathed a collective sigh of relief—Cheng Shuang was safe, and all was well at last.

Zhao Jianjun could hardly conceal his excitement and nodded his head, ”You’ve worked hard!”

”This is what I should do, he has already awakened, you all go in and see him,” the doctor stepped aside.

Zhao Jianjun and others immediately ran in, and Ye Qing also wanted to follow, but as he approached the doorway, the doctor stopped him.

”Ye brothers, is it you!” The doctor’s voice carried a tone of surprise, as if he had not expected to encounter Ye Qing here at all.

”You are?” Ye Qing looked at the doctor with confusion, whose face was covered by a mask, making it impossible to discern his features.

Only then did the doctor remember he had not removed his mask, and he hurriedly took it off, smiling, ”It’s me, Lin Tianyou from the train!”

This doctor was none other than the famous young healer Lin Tianyou of Shenchuan City. Ye Qing had met him on the train to Shenchuan City. Lin Tianyou had even given Ye Qing a business card, but Ye Qing had never called him.

Lin Tianyou had not forgotten Ye Qing because of the rustic methods he had mentioned, which had amazed him. After returning to Shenchuan City, he had paid close attention for a while, waiting for a call from Ye Qing, planning to seek further advice on those methods. However, he had never received a call from Ye Qing, and he had almost given up hope, thinking that Ye Qing had already left.

But unexpectedly, he encountered Ye Qing here again. It was truly like finding a needle in a haystack without effort.

Lin Tianyou grabbed Ye Qing’s arm and said, ”Ye, I thought you had gone home. I didn’t expect to meet you here; it’s really fate. By the way, do you know Little Chengshuang?”

”Little Chengshuang?” Ye Qing did not immediately recognize the nickname.

”Yes, Zhao Chengshuang,” Lin Tianyou said with a smile.

”Oh, he’s my friend,” Ye Qing replied truthfully.

”Friend?” Lin Tianyou was surprised, ”That kid’s friends are all those bad influences, when did he really make a good friend?”

Ye Qing did not elaborate, only looked at Zhao Chengshuang inside the room and asked, ”How is he now?”

”Pretty good,” Lin Tianyou nodded, then looked at Ye Qing again, ”By the way, was it you who brought him here?”

”Yes, is there a problem?” Ye Qingqi asked.

”As expected!” Lin Tianyou clapped his hands, ”I was wondering how this guy could have possibly made it here alive. To be honest, his injuries were not severe, but he had wounds all over his body and had lost a lot of blood. Many with such injuries do not survive the journey to the hospital. This kid arrived at the hospital looking quite spirited, and it was this energy that saved his life.

Ye, did you use some method to help him hold on for so long?”

Throughout the journey, Ye Qing had pressed several crucial acupoints on Zhao Chengshuang’s body to stimulate his life force. He had not expected that this action would actually save Zhao Chengshuang’s life.

”I didn’t do much,” Ye Qing replied.

”Impossible, if you hadn’t done anything, he would have arrived at death’s door, unable to be so lively. Ye, what exactly did you do?” Lin Tianyou persisted with his questioning, eager to know any lifesaving methods.

Ye Qing didn’t plan to withhold the information, so he described how he had pressed on the death acupoints.

”Death acupoints?” Lin Tianyou exclaimed after watching Ye Qing demonstrate the acupoints, ”Are these death acupoints? In Western medicine, these are commonly known as vital points, the most dangerous parts of the body. They should not be hit hard, or it could be fatal. However, Traditional Chinese Medicine’s description is more apt, ’death acupoints,’ these two words describe it more vividly.”

After a few remarks of admiration, Lin Tianyou looked at Ye Qing and said, ”However, if they are death acupoints, how could you dare to press them?”

Ye Qing explained, ”Death acupoints are also the points that can most stimulate a person’s life force, and if the pressure is moderate, they often can save lives.”

”Life force?” Lin Tianyou scratched his head, ”That’s very apt indeed, yes, that really is like a life force. I’ve read some theories on acupuncture in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and those death acupoints are usually not places where needles should be applied. I thought Traditional Chinese Medicine, like Western medicine, also took great care to avoid vital areas.

I had no idea Traditional Chinese Medicine had such miraculous methods to save people. The right amount of pressure, even on death acupoints, can save lives. This method should really be promoted, it could help more people save their lives!”

Lin Tianyou’s lifelong pursuit of medical skill could be described as tireless. Having succeeded in his studies abroad, he returned home at the earliest opportunity, wanting to use his abilities to advance domestic medical standards. Hence, he took any effective medical method very seriously, constantly seeking and pondering them. In this respect, he was indeed very dedicated.

Ye Qing was not concerned with the promotion aspect that Lin Tianyou talked about; he was more concerned about Zhao Chengshuang’s condition.

”Ye Qing, which one is Ye Qing?” Suddenly, Deng Liyang shouted from inside the room.

Ye Qing hurriedly ran in, and upon seeing him, Deng Liyang said, ”Are you Ye Qing?”

Ye Qing nodded, and Deng Liyang immediately stepped back, ”Quick, Chengshuang is asking for you.”

Ye Qing rushed to the bedside, and Zhao Chengshuang, wrapped up like a mummy, seemed in good spirits as he struggled to raise his barely movable hand.

Ye Qing went over to hold Zhao Chengshuang’s hand, and the latter coughed weakly, ”Ye, I… I… Am I a qualified police officer now…”
