Urban Martial Saint

”That car was going way too fast!”

”This is a downtown area, he was driving at least one hundred miles per hour!”

”What’s with drivers these days?”

”How’s the child doing? Can he still be saved?”

”That driver clearly wanted to kill him outright, just pay more in compensation and be done with it.”

”Call the police! Arrest him!”

”Young man, don’t be naive. Look at the car he was driving. Even if he killed a few people, nothing would happen to him. At most, he’d serve a few years in prison, and if his connections are strong, someone else could take the blame, and he’d just leave the country to avoid the backlash.”

The crowd was buzzing with comments, blocking the entire road.

Ye Qing held the child, pressing on his Baihui Acupoint, but he could clearly feel the child’s pulse getting weaker.

Ye Qing didn’t dare to press too hard since the Baihui Acupoint was after all a deadly point. But now, with the child losing so much blood, saving him was growing difficult. If things continued this way, the child definitely wouldn’t last until the ambulance arrived.

The only option now was to channel Internal Breath into his crown to stimulate his Life Force, in order to preserve the child’s life.

Ye Qing hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth, silently circulating the airflow within his body to strike at the Meridians in his right arm.

In the past few days, Ye Qing had tried several times, but each attempt had failed. Ye Qing was aware that forcibly breaking through the Meridians was very likely to cripple him. He initially wanted to take it slow, to wait until he had accumulated enough strength before gradually breaking through the Meridians. But now, he really didn’t have time to wait!

Ye Qing tried several times without success, seeing the child’s life signs growing weaker. Ye Qing grew increasingly anxious, bit down hard on his teeth, ignoring the risks, and crazily struck at the Meridians using the Internal Breath within his body.

Finally, the Meridians were opened by Ye Qing, but his right side also became somewhat numb.

Ye Qing couldn’t care less at this moment, placing his right hand on the child’s crown, stimulating his Baihui Acupoint with Internal Strength.

This method was recorded in the Acupoint Seeking Technique and was quite effective. The child slowly opened his eyes, glanced at Ye Qing, and then passed out again. However, his life signs had strengthened!

”Ambulance! Call an ambulance!” Ye Qing turned his head and shouted. There were so many onlookers, plenty of people discussing, but hardly anyone making a call.

Hearing Ye Qing’s words, someone finally reacted, hurriedly making the call for an ambulance. Nevertheless, the area was excessively crowded, and it took the ambulance twenty minutes to arrive.

Seeing the child’s injuries, even the doctors wanted to give up. Had it not been for the remaining life signs, they might not have bothered to respond.

Before equipping the child, one doctor said to Ye Qing, ”Let me make it clear, a deposit of ten thousand, once on the operating table, whether dead or alive, you have to pay the surgery fees, understand?”

Ye Qing responded resolutely, ”Save him first, and I will pay you!”

”Our rule is to pay the deposit first, no exceptions!” the doctor said coldly. He saw the child’s ragged clothing and Ye Qing’s wrinkled outfit, deducing they were impoverished, which is why he spelled it out so clearly.

Ye Qing exclaimed angrily, ”What’s more important, money or a human life!”

The doctor arrogantly retorted, ”Our hospital is here to make money, not to run a charity. No money, call another hospital!”

”How can you be like this?”

”Doctors are all about money now, how can poor people survive?”

”This is how it is, thinking about money before saving a life, are you a beast?”

”Beat him up! Beat him up!”

Among the crowd, someone shouted indignantly, the scene nearly spiraling out of control.

The doctor hadn’t expected such an outraged reaction from the crowd. Seeing the tumultuous mood, he grew a bit fearful, hastily gesturing with his hands, ”Well, you... you go with the vehicle to the hospital first...”

Only then did the medical team lift the child into the ambulance, with Ye Qing following. They hadn’t gone far when a loud explosion was heard from the square. Ye Qing turned to look and saw Chen Shibao’s car engulfed in flames, with many people around screaming.

Ye Qing’s expression changed. Now he could confirm that the man who had bent over earlier had placed a bomb in Chen Shibao’s car. It seemed that man was indeed the one he was looking for.

But now, Ye Qing simply couldn’t go after him. With the child so injured, Ye Qing had to save him first. Compared to the lives of Chen Shibao and Xu Beihua, Ye Qing felt the child’s life was more important!

Upon reaching the hospital, the doctor’s attitude became aggressive again, pointing at Ye Qing, ”Pay the deposit, hurry up and pay the deposit, or we won’t take him to the operating room!”

Ye Qing said, ”I don’t have that much money, is one thousand okay?”

The doctor scoffed sarcastically, ”Shall I just bandage his finger then? You’re really something, buddy. The hospital isn’t a marketplace; you can’t negotiate prices here!”

Ye Qing, feeling helpless, said, ”Then take him to the operating room first, and I’ll go raise the money right away!”

The doctor, looking dashing, said, ”The operating room can wait until you’ve gathered enough money. There’s no rush!”

Seeing the child’s breath growing weaker, Ye Qing had no choice but to place his right hand on him again, using his Inner Strength to stimulate the child’s Life Force.

”He’s about to die. Can’t you save him first? I’ll go gather the money right now!” Ye Qing’s voice had turned cold.

”Same as before, we’ll save the person once the money is here,” said the doctor arrogantly.

”Fuck! You! Bastard!” Ye Qing finally couldn’t hold back and exploded with the first curse of his life, not at a villain or a thug, but at a doctor who claims to be an angel in white!

Ye Qing grabbed the doctor by the neck, lifted him up, and slammed him against the wall, roaring, ”Can’t you save him first!”

The doctor was startled and stammered, ”What... what are you trying to do?”

”Can you or can you not!” Ye Qing bellowed repeatedly, his grip tightening as he could barely control his rage.

At that moment, several security officers hurried over. Seeing the situation, the team leader urgently said, ”What are you doing? Trying to cause trouble, aren’t you? Looking to die, are you? Do you know where you are?”

These security officers were just some scoundrels in uniforms, acting as if they were real police officers. On ordinary days, they were responsible for driving away family members of patients who came to make a fuss because of medical accidents. Equipped with batons and backed by the hospital, they were extremely arrogant.

The doctor, who was being held by Ye Qing, had almost wet himself with fear. However, seeing his colleagues arrive suddenly reinvigorated him, as he urgently said, ”He dared to hit a doctor, he’s a thug. Kill him! Kill him!”

A few security officers ran over, and the leader tried to grab Ye Qing’s neck, saying, ”Are you fucking looking to die!”

But his hand failed to seize Ye Qing’s neck because Ye Qing had already punched him in the face. The man immediately crouched down, his face bleeding from the mouth and nose, and after squatting momentarily, he fell to the ground, writhing in pain.

The others were stunned, never having witnessed such ferocity. Even the battle-hardened leader had been knocked down by a single punch?

Ye Qing turned to the doctor, gritting his teeth, ”Can’t you save him first!”

The doctor completely lost his courage, his voice trembling, ”Yes... yes, of course... of course, we can...”

Ye Qing let him go, suddenly turned around, and punched each security officer in front of him. Regardless of whether these men intended to strike or not, he knocked them all to the ground decisively and cleanly.

The doctor was trembling all over, unsure of Ye Qing’s intentions.

Ye Qing abruptly turned to look at the doctor and said sternly, ”If he dies on the operating table, I’ll certainly make you join him in death!”

The doctor shuddered yet again. Ye Qing’s words dissuaded him from any malpractice on the operating table.

The security officers were rolling on the ground, howling in pain, while several doctors hurriedly took the child into the operating room.

Ye Qing stood outside the operating room, watching the red light come on, his fists still clenched. However, he eventually regained a hint of clarity, took out his phone, and called Lin Tianyou, then Zhao Chengshuang.

Lin Tianyou was a highly skilled doctor. With his help, the chances of saving the child were much higher. Zhao Chengshuang had strong connections in the police department. Ye Qing needed Zhao Chengshuang to handle the aftermath of him beating the security officers at the hospital.

After making these two calls, Ye Qing finally leaned against the wall and squatted down. Only then did he feel the numbness in the right half of his body. His right fist couldn’t even be clenched at the moment. Moreover, the numbness was spreading, as though it aimed to take over his entire body.

Soon, a dozen policemen rushed in and, led by the security officers, came over to apprehend Ye Qing.

With the cops backing them, the security officers became more spirited, shouting to attack Ye Qing.

Ye Qing, now drained of much strength, leaned against the wall, ignoring the policemen. He knew that Zhao Chengshuang was surely arranging things for him.

Sure enough, before the police could come to grab Ye Qing, the leading officer received a phone call. After listening, he looked up at Ye Qing and said, ”You are Ye Qing?”

”Yes,” Ye Qing nodded.

The officer nodded, turned around, and gestured with his hand, saying, ”Pull out!”

The security officers were instantly baffled. One of them grabbed the leader, asking urgently, ”Captain Chen, what... what’s going on? He was causing trouble in the hospital!”

Captain Chen glared and said, ”Shut your damn mouth. What trouble? Who saw it?”

The man insisted, ”We all got beaten by him, anyone here could be a witness!”

”I didn’t see shit. You say you can be witnesses, right?” Captain Chen pointed at them and said, ”Fine, come back to the station with me to assist the investigation. Currently, there are at least thirty assault cases at the station; let’s sort those out first before we deal with this.”

The man was dumbfounded. If their cases were dealt with, every member of the security department would end up in jail for several years, with the best outcome being three years. They certainly didn’t want to process the incidents from the past.

Captain Chen, with his subordinates, left directly. The security officers looked at Ye Qing and, without an agreement, dispersed.

They weren’t stupid. Captain Chen usually had good relations with them. His current stance indicated that someone powerful was backing Ye Qing. And undoubtedly, that person wielded significant influence!
