The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Meng Yunzheng placed the letter down and asked Shu Yu, ”What do you plan to do?”

”Master has been captured by them, I definitely cannot stand by and do nothing. Besides, they want to use my master to lure me to the southwest. If I don’t go, they’ll find other ways to do it. So, I’ll go to the southwest with you.”

Meng Yunzheng knew she would do this, ”Alright, this way, I don’t have to sneak around anymore.”

Originally, the plan of Meng Yunzheng and the Emperor was to secretly go to the southwest and meet up with Qi Lie, which would make the investigation easier.

Coincidentally, there will be a knowledge exchange gathering of major academies in the north soon. On the surface, Meng Yunzheng, as the Mountain Master, would naturally attend such a gathering for the future development of the academy, so leaving Dongan Province shortly after his wedding would not arouse suspicion.

As for not appearing at the gathering, he could use unexpected delays on the road as an excuse.

Now, having received this letter, the original plan is clearly unusable.

Shu Yu cannot disregard the safety of the Dongqing Temple master, as her husband, it’s impossible to let her go to the southwest alone.

Rather than saying Shu Feng wants to use the Dongqing Temple master to lure Shu Yu to the southwest for revenge, it’s more like the Second Prince’s remnant is targeting the couple, wanting to lure them to the southwest to dispose of them quickly.

It seems they were indeed cautious after last time disrupting the black market over there in Changjin Prefecture.

But now, Dongan Province is completely controlled by Lord Fei, so trying to make a move here has a high failure rate.

Wasn’t there an example those years ago? Hao Dingshan infiltrated Dongan Province, wanting to use Scholar Chen to monitor Meng Yunzheng’s every move, but ended up being used by Meng Yunzheng and Lord Fei, taking a false message of ’the new Emperor is gravely ill’ back.

This led the Second and Third Prince to think it was an opportune moment and act prematurely, only to fall into the Emperor’s trap and be entirely captured.

One could say Hao Dingshan’s false message played a very crucial role.

With such a precedent, they know trying to target the couple in Dongan Province is not only dangerous but might also backfire.

But to take them to the southwest, a place teeming with mixed factions, which is their own territory with many people, dealing with two individuals wouldn’t be difficult.

Shu Yu exhaled, ”Since they want to lure us to the southwest, they have to let me know my master is there. I don’t know when they’ll act.”

”Soon. If there are no accidents, it will be these couple of days,” Meng Yunzheng said, ”Their target is the two of us, and my original plan was to set off tomorrow to the north for the academy’s knowledge exchange. Before that, they must send us the message, otherwise, it would be too late.”

Meng Yunzheng guessed right, the message came quickly. Early the next morning, as Shu Yu left home, she saw Daoist Nun Qiu arriving hurriedly.

Seeing the time she arrived, she likely entered the city as soon as the gates opened.

Upon seeing Shu Yu, Daoist Nun Qiu’s expression was somewhat anxious, ”Shu Yu, an urgent letter from the temple master. The temple master has never sent an urgent letter while traveling in all these years. It must be something very important, so I came early.”

Shu Yu exchanged a glance with Meng Yunzheng behind her, it indeed arrived.

Shu Yu instructed Ying Xi to lead Daoist Nun Qiu inside and serve tea, then took the letter out herself.

This letter was written in the voice of the Dongqing Temple master.
