The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

It’s no matter whether they’re rich or poor. If we guide them well while they are still undecided, they’ll all be good children.

We are teachers. Besides imparting knowledge, don’t we also teach them how to conduct themselves in society?

The enrollment at Zhenglu Academy went smoothly. Most students registered in the morning.

In the afternoon, quite a few people came upon hearing the news. Meng Yunzheng left Master Wen to continue processing at Taoli Hall.

That afternoon, around 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., people gradually left after visiting the academy.

As they exited, some felt reluctant, casting a longing glance back at the tall and solemn signboard, remarking, ”This academy is well built, occupies vast land, has many classrooms, and its teachers are great scholars. It might become the largest academy in Dongan Province.”

”More than just Dongan Province! Watch, I think in a few years, this academy will be ranked in Dasu Capital.”

”It seems we made the right decision sending our children here to study.”

”Are you coming back tomorrow?”

The first day was enrollment, and the second day will be the formal registration, allocation of accommodation and classrooms, and issuance of clothing and footwear.

So on the second day, they can still accompany their children.

Many parents exchanged looks and said, ”We’ll come.”

Hence, the next day, once again a long, winding line set out toward Zhenglu Academy.

Everything in the academy was prepared. Apart from waiting for the tailored clothing, all wardrobes, bedding, quilts, and basins in the rooms were standardized.

Even the initiator’s pen, ink, paper, and inkstone were the same. Of course, if family conditions allow, you can bring your own, but what’s needed will still be supplied.

Zhenglu Academy’s first enrollment yielded over 300 students.

More than half were originally studying at nearby schools and were incorporated into Zhenglu Academy.

Over 300 students might not seem many today, but in Dasu, it’s an excellent number.

In these times, there are few scholars, especially since the academy has just been established in Dongan Province. To attract this many, it’s thanks to Meng Yunzheng, the two teachers, and the Emperor’s reputation.

These 300 students are only the beginning, more will gradually join.

Zhenglu Academy started to gain popularity, as did the village down the mountain.

Indeed, many people rented houses, not only to accompany children studying but also for business and opening shops.

As for Shu Yu, following yesterday’s recruitment, she hired eight people for the academy, including gardeners, cleaners, and kitchen maids. But she hired over twenty people for herself, among them a slightly awkward fellow.

This man was more excited about tending the sunflower field than working at the academy. After all, farming is what he’s used to. He feels uneasy at the academy.

However, he did go back to consult his wife and came the next day with his bundle.

When Shu Yu saw him arrive, his face bore injuries and scratches, seemingly beaten by his biased parents. But despite this, he came over, not yielding the job to his brothers.

This aspect satisfied Shu Yu.

After arranging the newly hired staff, Shu Yu planned to take Madam Hou around Dongan Province. She’s been out for a while, and will soon return.

While Ms. Kang originally traveled with Yao Po to visit the two teachers.

Now that Yao Po is auditing at Zhenglu Academy, naturally Ms. Kang won’t leave. As a friend of Mountain Master Meng, Meng Yunzheng lent them his private courtyard for the family of three to live in.
