The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Shu Yu quickly got busy. Making fruit smoothies wasn’t difficult, but without a blender, she had to rely on hand-mixing.

Fortunately, there were many people at home, and everyone who came to help was given a share, which they were more than happy about.

In the end, even Meng Yunzheng joined in. Shu Yu handed him a cup of grape smoothie, ”This cup is definitely sweet, I added quite a bit of rock sugar.”

Meng Yunzheng looked at her with a teasing smile, ”Then I must taste it.”

Shu Yu ignored the implication of his words. She not only made fruit smoothies but also fruit tea.

It’s a pity there was no milk available at home; otherwise, she could have made milk tea.

She was so absorbed in making them that she didn’t even notice the Meng family had returned.

Meng Han was the first to hear the commotion and dashed to the kitchen, ”Sister-in-law, what treats are you making?”

”Come, have a taste. Don’t you like peaches? This one has the best peach flavor.”

After taking a sip, Meng Han nodded happily, ”Delicious.”

Each of them had a cup. Just after returning from a journey on such a hot day, a sudden fruit smoothie was simply heavenly.

Meng Yunzheng was dissatisfied, ”If you want to drink, make it yourself. My wife and I have been making them all afternoon; my hands are sore.”

The group collectively mocked him, showing no signs of envy over having a wife, ”Make it yourself, then.”

Not only did they make it themselves, but Gan Rui and Meng Qi even went out to buy a considerable amount of fruits.

Fruits at this time weren’t cheap, but as their family was well-off, they could afford it.

Meng Pei suggested, ”Let’s make smoothies from all the fruits. We can send them to the Lu family, and if there’s any left, store them in the ice cellar to enjoy slowly.”

He had a great plan, but the Lu family had many members. Not to mention the Lu Sanzhu family who stayed over and the temporary residents Madam Hou and her daughter, Yao Po’s family. On a hot day, who wouldn’t want fruit smoothies?

After sending a large bucket over to the Lu family, only a little was left.

Since Shu Yu made the smoothies, she was the biggest contributor, so the remaining fruit smoothies were all reserved for her, stored temporarily in the ice cellar.

Shu Yu’s second day of marriage passed peacefully and comfortably like this.

The third day was the day to return to her family. Early morning, Meng Pei placed the prepared things in the living room, allowing the couple to take them home.

There was quite a lot. If their homes weren’t just a few steps away, they might have needed a carriage to transport them.

In any case, except for Shu Yu, Meng Yunzheng, Xia Yan, Ying Xi, and Uncle Yan, no one was empty-handed as they headed to the Lu family.

Old lady Lu family and the others had been waiting at home for a while. Seeing the couple coming hand in hand, smiles appeared on their faces, indicating their harmonious relationship.

Nonetheless, Madam Ruan pulled Shu Yu into the room, despite feeling a bit awkward, eventually inquiring about marital affairs.

After being frightened by Shuyou’s situation, she was determined to speak up. Years ago, due to her negligence in discussing such matters with her eldest daughter, Shuyou was misled by Zhang Shu’s affair, putting her life in jeopardy.

So even though Madam Ruan had thoroughly informed Shu Yu about these matters the night before her wedding, she couldn’t help but awkwardly ask how things were afterwards.

Shu Yu couldn’t help but laugh, telling Madam Ruan, ”Mother, we’re doing well. I practically wore out the Fire Extinguishing Map in the last two years.”

Madam Ruan was astonished, and she couldn’t resist lightly hitting Shu Yu’s arm, ”You, you child, what nonsense are you talking?”

Shu Yu felt innocent, ”It wasn’t nonsense—Mother, you asked me.”

Madam Ruan stood up, her face flushed, ”Alright, as long as you’re doing well. Let’s hurry out.”
