The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

The people who can read at the back are still few, and those lining up here to find work mostly have average family conditions.

If there are really capable individuals, they would definitely queue up on the right side.

However, there were two fallen child students coming to apply for a job; one was twenty-three and the other over fifty.

The former experienced familial changes, having passed the child student exam only shortly before losing both parents. He devoted many years to studying with no practical life skills, dismissing the household servants, starting to learn everything from scratch. Who would have thought soon after, his wife couldn’t bear the hardships, leaving him to become someone else’s second wife and stepmother, only leaving behind a daughter of just two years old to rely on him.

Studying was no longer possible, there was neither money nor time, and his daughter depended on him for survival.

Fortunately, he was a child student, whether doing accounting or copying books, he could still earn some money to barely scrape by.

But his daughter was too young, and he couldn’t keep her by his side while working, so he entrusted a neighbor aunt to take care of her. Who knew one time when he came home unexpectedly, he found that aunt pinching and scolding his daughter, and telling her that her mother didn’t want her because she was not good.

He burned with anger on the spot, reprimanded the aunt, and drove her out.

After that, he dared not ask anyone else to take care of her. Later, he discussed with the boss to reduce his wages, and the boss agreed to let him bring his daughter along.

However, he was busy at times, and in a moment of carelessness, his daughter, sitting obediently at the door, was abducted by kidnappers.

Luckily, the authorities were continuously searching for this gang of kidnappers, and after his daughter was missing overnight, these thieves were caught, and his daughter was unharmed.

After these two incidents, the child student was anxious and didn’t know what to do. Later, someone suggested he remarry, having a wife at home would also mean someone to care for the child.

But after so many experiences, the child student didn’t think this was a good solution.

However, unable to cope with his increasingly silent daughter, who was startled by the slightest movement like a skittish bird, he was about to compromise when Zhenglu Academy suddenly announced job openings.

If he could work at the academy, naturally he wouldn’t encounter kidnappers. His daughter was now four years old, as long as she had a small place to play by herself, safety wouldn’t be an issue.

Moreover, inside the academy were all scholars, not to speak of their character, ultimately they were all educated people, most are reasonable and kind-hearted, and there would be no worry of her being bullied.

He even inquired about the situation of Mountain Master Top Scholar Meng, and on the day of Top Scholar Meng’s wedding at Fenghuai Street, he clearly heard him answer questions about women’s childbirth.

If someone is worried about a person like that, he truly cannot find a more suitable place.

Thus, this time, the child student came to the interview with his daughter.

Shu Yu always had patience with children, especially upon hearing the child’s early life changes, she constantly thought of her own siblings at home.

She had people send pastries to the little girl, who politely and cautiously thanked in a childish voice, smiled while touching her head, and looked up to say to the child student, ”Chang Jiayi, you are hired.”

Chang Jiayi’s academic ability was beyond doubt, and as for his character, one could tell from his attitude towards his daughter, there were no major problems. As for the rest...

”However, here we have a three-month trial period as a rule. If after three months, your performance is unremarkable, we will not hesitate to let people go. Rest assured, these three months have wages. If you’re able to stay after that period, the wages will increase.”
